God of War III (PS3)

Sony now has the God of War 3 Demo on PS3 to download. I just finished playing it. It was amazing and gory. I can't wait for the full game to release in a couple of weeks.

I played that same demo at my buddy's house the other week and LOVED IT! (FlaccoFlicker, I know you gave me the d/l code months ago! I'd barely been on PSN at that point...)

One of the best demos I've ever played of any game. It gave a good enough idea of both the gameplay and presentation while also being legitimately as fun as any full game release. The length was just about right, with two significant boss battles and enough variety to make it worth the hard drive space.

My best friend bought me the game today as an early birthday present, pretending that he preordered it for himself when he really meant to give it to me all along. One of the best gifts I've ever received, because this game is so EPIC! Never played a game with such a large sense of scale, nor have I ever felt so empowered playing any action game. The only other game that's come close to making me feel so powerful is Batman: Arkham Asylum, mainly because that game made me really feel like the world's greatest detective.

I keep dying, but I don't get upset because the checkpoints are frequent and the fights are just too much fun!

Beat it 8 hours or so on normal, probably more like 10 hours including deaths. Just started it on Chaos(Very Hard) and it took me 3 hours to get to a point that I got to relatively quick before(around an hour or so originally). Tips for playing it like this is that understand you will die a lot and just examine your opponents weakness(openings).

I was never a fan of God of War. Rented both one and two when they first came out and never saw what the buzz was. Granted, I was 17 and not much into games of the genre then. Seeing all the buzz 3 was getting (not to mention the scowls I could feel through texts from my friends when I said I wasn't a fan of GoW), I ended up getting the God of War Collection. $30 for God of War 1 and 2 seemed like a deal to me. Needless to say, I find myself enjoying it more now (although I still don't think it's as amazing as everyone and their mother says), and will probably be at least renting three once I beat 1 and 2 >.>

The hype around the game largely revolves around how much of a general B.A. Kratos is, as well as the creative reimagining of Greek mythology. Above all else, the pick-up-and-play aspect of the gameplay is what's garnered the most positive reception, as it's simple enough for a beginner to do adequately yet complex enough for the hardcore gamer to enjoy. The game also rewards you for mastering the combat system's intricacies by allowing you to unlock even more impressive attacks that do even more damage.

It's one of those rare games that appeals to almost every type of gamer, as it has a rich enough story that isn't dumbed-down too significantly, and the characterization of Kratos has been one of the more interesting ones in videogame history. This is an anti-hero who is supposed to be despicable in every way, yet is sympathetic for the tragedy of his life. Someone spoiled the ending for me but it's the ultimate pyrrhic victory and does an amazing job (on paper) of closing out the trilogy.

This game'll take me forever to finish!...I just glanced at the walkthrough to see how many sections there are to the game between significant events, and there's something like 50 of them over 9 chapters!...By "sections," I mean different large fights or tasks that need to be completed, usually between cutscenes. I've been playing for a couple hours every day since its release, and at this poitn, I'd estimate that there's a good 20-25 hours of gameplay in the standard story when taking into account how often you'll probably die and the trial-and-error of puzzles. Not bad for an action game.

I'm not usually a fan of games where you fight monsters and devils etc. But the fact that your doing it as Kratos makes it acceptable.

This game makes me play outside of my mold (mainly sports game). The integration of cut scenes with gameplay is excellent. The visuals are excellent. The story line excellent. And Kratos just kicks ***.

Ok so once you get platinum you get a link to this website....

As more people get platinum the red bar fills more and the rain and thunder become more frequent.

Played the game for the first time tonight and wow what can I say. I knew Kratos was already a bad ****** because I played the other two when they were on PS2, but this game is simply awesome. Hades gave me a bit of trouble and I'm just taking a break. Can't put this game down.

It's a pretty fun game. The game is the same type of play as the first two, but this game takes it to a whole new level.

I just finished it last night. Very interesting ending.

I'm nearly finished but kinda find the whole thing boring. I remember the excitement and epic feel of the first game but we've seen that stylised fighting style overkilled in numerous ripoffs, two more instalments, and even movies like Beowulf. God of War 3 is just more of the same IMO.

PS I hate Kratos voice, the guy overacts and has no character depth.

I beat God of War III and it was boss. The visuals were awesome, but I got the deal where I got the ps3 controller and the first two God of Wars for 55 bucks. I'm playing through the first one and a few things I noticed.

1. The game play is the same exact way for all three games. I guess if you get it right the first time why change it.

2. The puzzles are very similar and once you figure out how the majority of the puzzles work out then they become pretty easy to figure out, like they are very similar throughout all the games

3. Fighting the bosses is more fun in God of War 3 than in God of war I. But fighting the smaller bad guys are more fun in God of War I. There is more strategy and different approaches to fighting each little bad guy.

Overall sick games. But still uncharted two was better
