Who Will We Franchise?

Nobody! There is no one on the roster that could be "tagged" that would warrant the type of money that is required to keep them. If being a Raven is not good enough, fine, we can and will find someone else. There's alot of intangibles to being a Raven than just money. The Ravens are not just a team but a philosophy, a way of doing things that is success oriented. Something that alot of other NFL teams don't understand and they're not hard to identify.

The main reason we franchise a player is to have more time to properly work out a long term deal.

Nobody. It's not a good think if you have to franchise somebody. It usually means both sides cant reach a deal, so the team says "We'll work this out some other time, but you're still on the team." Usually a franchise tag is pretty hefty, because it's the average of the 5 top ten contracts? So it's usually a last resort if a team really wants to keep a guy.

Please, and no dis, read up on the rules. Ngnata is not, repeate, not eligable for the "tag." An extension yes, and trust me we will, but there is no Raven, eligable for the "tag" this year that any of us should worry about. Despite the limitiations of the final eight rule, there is nothing to worry about. Come the deadline today, if the Ravens tag anybody it will be a shock to all of us. All of the players who are eligable can and will be easily replaced by players who know what being a Raven is really about.

Most of our players who will be FA this year will be back with us by pre-season.

They'll probably give Ngata a 6 year 80m extension. Make him the second highest paid DL.
