yea antoine cason....could shred a receiver to peices.....he looks like a play maker....draft a cb and sign one in the offseason.....corey ivy is NOT the answer yea he makes a couple of good plays but thats once every 3 games we need some1 whos going to be a consistent playmaker.....what do you think of how troy smith is playing??? 9/21 for 60 yards......four more passes and he'll break mcnairs record for least amount of yards with 13 completions

I'd still keep Corey Ivy as a rotational nickelback.

I know Corey Ivy's not the answer as a STARTER, but he's still a playmaker on special teams and in nickel situations (when he hasn't been forced to start).

As for Troy Smith's performance, for a rookie, I guess he's done as well as you can ask a rookie QB to play in his first NFL start on the road in one of the toughest stadiums to play.

Numbers aside, he's done some things well, but needs to work on calming down and stop trying to force things.

I think its good that he's getting some plays. He is playing one of the best pass-rush defenses in the NFL, right?

What was Ogden doing on the right side?

May have been something just to allow other players who can push off better to give space for Troy Smith to sneak it in.

Ogden's still dealing with his toe injury and isn't able to push off as well as he used to.

Or it might've been a fake, I dunno. Either way, we still got the first down there.

Too bad we had to punt again just now, but oh well.

Boy, 4-2 is such a distant memory, isn't it?

On pace for a ninth straight loss, but I guess that shows you parity in the NFL and how quickly a team's fortunes can fade.

its good to be conservative.....but thats when we're winning the game if we're being conservative and we're losing by 30.....then whats the point of playing....we need to be aggressive on offense the same way we are on defense. However i must say.....troy smith is better than the #1 pick of the draft....smith hasnt made as many bad mistakes as russell

the problem with us being conservative, with a lead, is that we end up coming up with 8 yards when we need 10!

usually the good passing teams.....get a first down on one pass. we need at least two.....we need to fix this problem as u see regardless of who's at qb its the same results

By virtue of that TD, Troy Smith's grade, in my book, goes from a D to a C+.

Another one, or at least another scoring drive of any sort, and it could get bumped up to a B-, at best.

HELLO. let the kid throw the ball and look what happens

Seattle was being overly aggressive with their pass rush and the secondary just plain got BEAT by Mason, so it was nice to see Smith take advantage of the defense's miscues.

From what I can remember, it was roughly 40 yards deep, and the rest was YAC.

Might have to check a replay on that one, to be sure.

Either way, it was equal credit to Mason and Smith for making the play. :)

man it was a bomb THEN a YAC so both but it was great.....it should be on youtube in a couple of hours lol dont worry. THATS what we need to do on offense.

that or it'll be on NFL.com too, now that i've learned to navigate their site.

who is vickers?

Lee Vickers is a backup tight end/fullback signed for depth after a few games back when Quinn Sypniewski was out for a bit with an injury and there were no active tight ends whatsoever.

He was formerly a practice squad player.

Well, the final score is Seattle 27, Baltimore 6, and that makes for a franchise-record ninth-straight loss.

Frankly, for those who followed along with me, it is what it is, and chalk it up to another game where things just didn't work out as they should, and the team just has to regroup and take whatever positives they may before moving onto the season finale against the newly-crowned AFC North Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

We won't be able to play spoiler next week, but at least we can try to have some fun with it against a division rival.

I had as much fun as I could with y'all today for a loss, and I'll be back with y'all next week for the Steelers game before New Year's.

Happy Holidays, and for those who celebrate it like I do, Merry Christmas! ;)
