Ooooh...bad starting position for Troy Smith to helm in the offense in his first start of his professional career...

But we'll see if he can make this his 3rd scoring drive in 5 possessions. ;)

OK, CBS is messing up this broadcast worse than the rain here in DE already is...

THANKYOU! We have been flipping form HD sat to cable to antenna trying to get a decent picture

Well, seeing as how I live in Delaware, I can't get it on any local cable broadcast, so I'm stuck using my Radioshack antenna yet again. Comes in handy when my local CBS affiliate won't broadcast the game, but the rain is making me get creative with it.

Now I know what life was like before cable.

Meanwhile, niiiiice scramble by Troy Smith. But if he expects to last long in this league, he needs to be careful with those runs.

Ugh...anyone else bothered slightly by Troy Smith's footwork?

I think he needs to clean up his mechanics in the offseason with Rick Neuheisel if he doesn't get the UCLA job.

I know his footwork was what helped him become the ultimate dual threat in Ohio State, but when it comes to making the right throws in the NFL, mechanics are everything.

David Pittman dodged a bullet there with that catch that ended up being incomplete...

#24 needs to be careful if he wants to be here next season...

Quick thoughts so far after two possessions by Seattle:

-- Ravens defense is giving up too much space for receivers because they seem to be gunshy about letting Maurice Morris break through. Maybe overcompensating for Nick Grieson in Ray Lewis' place?

-- If it weren't for that touchback, I'd have said Baltimore already lost the field position battle, which is essential with the young Troy Smith under center today.

do punters think its impressive that they can put it in the endzone from 40 yards away?

Whatever happened to the 'coffin corner'?

I may be a bit too picky, but even for a rookie, Troy Smith needs to sell the handoff to McGahee better on that 2nd down play.

And again, Smith needs to calm down and stop trying to make things happen. That type of scrambling is reminiscent of the pressure Boller felt to make plays happen.

Though I appreciate the effort, for a season that's a wash, he needs to just slow it down and get used to the speed of the game.

They care more about protecting themselves than putting their defense in better field position.

Especially when they got big, speedy guys like Gary Stills bullrushing their way towards them.
