So I know alot of us are into gaming and I see alot of threads being named for specific games and stuff so I figured why not start a thread on the console itself,so we can discuss various things such as rumors,release dates,PSN content,games and all that stuff.Now I am not saying we shouldn't start individual game threads,even tho if we keep it all in one thread there wouldn't be so many new ones lol.

And for X-Box 360 owners if someone wants to make a thread for that go for it...I own a 360 but rarely play it!

For those of you who don't have it this week only Marvel vs Capcom 2 is only $7.99 this week as opposed to $14.99,I feel this is one of the best 2d fighters out there.Haven't gotten it yet but plan on it today.

2010 is going to be an amazing year for video games, specifically on PS3.

I mean, just in the first half of this year alone:

- Yakuza 3
- Resonance of Fate
- Alpha Protocol

- Red Dead: Redemption

Lots of games getting a lot of buzz, ranging from imports to yearly franchises to original IP.

That's not to mention the second half of the year:
- NCAA Football 11
- Madden NFL 11
- NHL 11
- WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2011
- Dead Rising 2
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
- The Sims 3 (port to console)
- Crysis 2
- Max Payne 3
- EA Sports MMA

I'm gonna be soooooo broke...might have to get a Gamefly subscription just so I don't go broke trying to add to my collection...

Not only am I picking up all those games you mentioned, I'm also getting the PS3 port of GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City when it comes out at the end of next month.

The worst part is, I also have games to catch up on from 2009! I'm talking, Fallout 3 DLC, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Tekken 6...ughhhh. And Yakuza 3 is so similar to GTA IV (but with much more to do), I almost thought about getting that instead of the DLC disc, but the $30 or $40 price point (I forgot what I paid when I pre-ordered) was what made me pick GTA instead. Yakuza 3, though, I'm almost positive will be something I absolutely love and get addicted to even longer than FF XIII.

some of the others you mentioned I either don't know or haven't looked up on them if they are PS3 exclusives I will be able to get off the Sony RLS since my fiancee works in retail.Arkham Asylum is definite worth the money and a sequel is on the way!

Note that not every game I released is a PS3 exclusive. However, given that there are so few console-exclusive games on the market these days, it's a moot point. Console-exclusivity in this economy, after all, isn't prudent or financially-viable for every publisher/developer.

My co-worker and one of my fellow DJs played it and they both said they loved it. It's a lot like God of War gameplay-wise, but the visuals are really striking and the storyline, while thin, is intriguing enough to keep playing.

Sounds like a rental or a used purchase but not an immediate, brand-new buy. You'd probably be better off getting God of War III instead.

Just did the training module for MLB 10 wow we will now be able to customize walk up music for the entire team,and customize fan shouts with recording our own.....there are other new features that I'll post tomorrow .

I've played the demo and it's amazing.It is a God of War rip-off in terms of game play but the story is interesting and fun.I mean in the first few minutes of the demo you beat a death god and steal his scythe! I mean how BA is that?

I know! I mean, you literally kill Death within the first few minutes. Other than laughing with my buddy over how easy it was to kill Death ("How come no one thought to do it before if it was so easy?!?" ), everything about the game just screams BA.

Downloaded the Yakuza 3 demo off PSN this morning before I left for class. Can't wait to get home and play it. I get the feeling I'll bite the bullet and drop the $50 or $60 for the game on Amazon...

Played the Yakuza 3 demo and I liked it, but not completely sold yet. I'll have to play through it again just to see if I still feel the same way.

Though it looks like a Japanese GTA clone on the surface, it's a lot more than that. From what I've seen of the game and what I've played, it's similar to GTA San Andreas in terms of the ridiculous amount of everyday things you can do -- but even more than that. It makes you feel like you're a BA Yakuza boss and everything is so over-the-top but done so well. The game isn't for everyone since there's no English voice track and you have to appreciate Japanese culture to appreciate some of the details of the streets of Japan. But the fighting system is fun once you learn the nuances of it (or you can just button-mash if you really want to, but the moves won't look as cool that way) and the story seems compelling enough.

The game compares most favorably to Shenmue from a decade ago on the Sega Dreamcast.

Has anyone else played Uncharted 2 yet?I beat it the other day and I'm still amazed by it.MY aiming has improved so much because of that game it's not even funny.

It's almost identical to GOW but the weapon isn't as cool. I mean I would say go ahead and rent it if your interested in the Crusades and that period in time but I wouldnt buy it.

P.s. go to PSN store and pick up the PS1 game Suikoden for 5.99. I found it when i was like 10, its pretty legit RPG.

well as far as rpg's go it depends what kind you are looking for i mean fallout 3 is considered rpg.
But Final Fantasy 13 is coming out,Eternal Sonata,Valkria Chronicles,White Knight Chronicles,Enchanted Arms,Elder Scrolls iv Oblivion,possibly others but like I said depends what you look for in an RPG they consder Dragon Age and Demon Souls also.There was a launch title that was an RPG and for the life of me can't remember the name

I got it as a gift since it was on sale for 40 bucks at Target I enjoy it,even if it is a God Of War rip-off lol

yes that was the major freakout from yesterday,it was a real non incorperated time issue it sucked
as for Final Fantasy I am stoked for it,this game was a rumored launch title for PS3 and it is finally coming,I have heard it will be more straight forward then the previous FF'S which might suck because I enjoyed exploring the worlds,but it lookos brilliant.A week away!

Resonance of Fate looks like a decent J-RPG, while there's the obvious staple in Final Fantasy XIII. Both release within the next week or so.

And I would've bought Suikoden on PSN had I not already paid $50 for a used copy on eBay a few years ago after my original copy (along with most of my good PS1 RPGs) was stolen. If Suikoden II hits the PSN, I'm definitely dropping down the cash for it no matter what they price it; not only that, but I'll also be paying for all my friends' copies that have never played it because they've definitely been deprived of one of the best stories I've ever seen in a videogame.

I was lucky to pick up Suikoden 2 years ago at ebgames for like 10 bucks. Its by far the best game I have ever played. Immense replay value.

I think I might wait for a little bit on that... granted this is the PS3 thread and I'm talking about my 360.... I've got Mass Effect 2 which I have to finish, Bioshock 2 which I have to start/finish, now Bad Company 2, and 2 weeks time the expansion to dragon age...... I really need to start being picky lol and I think I'm gonna have to wait and see how ppl like Final Fantasy ... as it will give me a chance to catch up lol
