How do you feel about McGahee staying here?

McGahee was very good for us in the red zone this season. Hopefully he will continue to help us out.

I'm glad the team has decided to keep him. His nose for the end-zone aside, he gives the Ravens quality depth at RB and can take the pressure off Rice. Hopefully the coaches use him a bit more this year.

I'm fine with this decision. Again, the only thing that bothers me is his cap figure, but if he can do even more with the opportunities he's given, it's justified.

In retrospect, goal line back or not, I feel he earned his paycheck last year, for the most part. Sure, he could've done more (or been asked to do more), but he did just fine in the role he was in. He's not the long-term primary back fit for this team anymore, but he's more than good enough to be the backup and spell Rice as needed.

I just think we can use our great depth at the RB position to sure up another need..Mcgahee is a great back-up don't get me wrong, but I think we could get a STARTER on the defense if we use him as trade bait..

If we trade him for anybody, Id hope it would be for a Defensive Lineman.

Magahee proved his worth in the Raven's last game against Oakland: 16 rushes 167 yards and 3 TD. That's one heck of
a "backup" RB. I think its a good thing if he stays

This is why I don't think we need a big name reciever! We got 3 Probowl Running backs behind an amazing young line. We just signed Stallworth, whom just did a 40 yd dash for us in 4.3 seconds. It appears that Mason will be signing a 2 year deal (according to rotoworld.com). If we draft a TE in the first 2 rounds this year we will be pretty darn set, Heap has lost his step but would still be immensely useful in 2 TE sets.. Yes, we should draft recievers too but no use in going after a veteran.

We don't need a Brandon Marshall or Anquan Boldin.

Where did u see he ran a 4.3 at our workout? Ill wait to see if Stallworth can contribute anything. Even if we draft a TE, im not so sure Cam even knows what the hell to do with them both. Despite all the flack to LJ, wasnt he was actually healthy past week 6 they just never used him? We hardly ever use singleback back with Cam so two TE sets is an anomaly. We still need help at WR, the weakness is too glaring. For the record Im happy we kept McGahee, hes got a clear nose for the endzone and is a load to take down at 230 when hes in shape. But I also cant help but wonder if it would have been best for both sides to move on, McGahee can start in this league without question, and if the Ravens could have gotten adequate compensation it might have been best for both parties.

I think McGahee could still be traded because the article just said that the Ravens "plan on retaining McGahee". I think the article was directed at us cutting McGahee because it say's scratch another free agent off the list. The NFL.com source talks about how we will not cut McGahee and I think we all knew we wouldn't cut him. We all know that the FO will explore every possibility of trading McGahee, but we would be just as happy to keep him here.

We should defiantly give McGahee the ball more. I do love the fact we have McGahee and Rice and we can mix it up with McClain. Rice got too many carries and touches last year. He got the most touches in the league last year. We need Rice to be able to last all year. It's ok now because he is at the beginning of his career and is more durable. But if we want to extend Rice's career, McGahee needs to get more touches.

Well i dont want to be a downer but the story says that according to Stallworth he ran 4.3 40s in recent workouts. Nothing verified by electronic timing or by Ravens personnel.

Still faster than Clayton. And PFT and Rotoworld usually get news faster than the goons on this site.
