more so on the friendship level i am hoping....i think most people on here are a little upset over the fact that i am just being who i am and posting my thoughts even though they are in the "plentiful" range/category...and just trying to keep the Raven Fire alive in not just one or 2 raven fans out there..but EVERYONE whom is a raven fan. I think many people on here seem me constantly defending the team and in doing so "not fully seeing the big picture" of this season but i just flat out refuse to Accept that the Ravens are a "bad team" this season and because i see the potential in the younger raven players on the team and i see what kind of future this team will/can have mor so than i guess everyone else and im not one ot sit and dwell on some things.........im just Trying to instill in everyone whom is a raven fan NEVER EVER give up hope..and we will turn this around, But we as Raven Fans must never degrade teh players on this team in which MAKE this team and the team we love so much. But it also seems like people dont want me to talk about that either because it appears they WANT To degrade the team and its players/coaches...."venting their Frustrations" in other words....i just dont see it as the proper thing to do. with this Team.

I Love my Ravens

People don't like me for that, neither. And I know I sound like an apologist and what essentially amounts to a "company man" (even though I don't work for the team), but I keep going back to the saying that I always paraphrase:

"It's EASY to be a fan when your team is WINNING."

And having experienced the good and the bad that comes with being a fan, especially when surrounded by fans of other teams, I have to be steadfast in my loyalty in order to survive here. It's hard to be a Ravens fan when you're surrounded by diehard Eagles fans and Steelers fans. But it's EASY to be a Ravens fan when you're in Maryland, surrounded by fellow fans and feeling like you BELONG. And it's even easier when the team is winning.

And the thing is, I've learned that there's more to life than football.

As I (ironically) learned from the Jimmy Fallon/Drew Barrymore baseball movie "Fever Pitch," we may love the Ravens, but can the Ravens really love us back? Sure, they may be appreciative of our support and reward our loyalty by giving us something to smile about on Sundays, but in the end, can they really love us back on an individual basis?

Therefore, as much emotion as I invest in the game, in the end, regardless of the outcome, I say, "It is what it is," and move on.

And when it comes to looking at the bigger picture, it's easy to point fingers after a loss. But the bigger thing to do is to accept it for what it is and understand that the team will take it harder than we ever could, because THEY were responsible for the outcome of the game, not US. And it's easy to try to come up with one single, solitary reason for any loss. But in the end, football is the ultimate TEAM sport, and there is always more than one reason.

So I may be an apologist, but I apologize for nothing more than being loyal.

They should make a sixth level for number of posts at around 5000 and just call it Raven07.

Isnt 5000 hall of famer?

Then make it a seventh-tier title at 10,000.

I think at 10000 the right thing to do would be enrol him in an insane asylum.

That's the price that has to be paid to get a posting level named after you.

I wonder how negative this forum would be without Raven07.

I would guess that it could get really bad, and I for one stand behind him.

As Raven07 says we are all FANS of this team, and should try to keep our commentary as CONSTRUCTIVE as possible. When we just say "Fire Billick" and don't enumerate why we are saying so, that is an example of DESTRUCTIVE criticism. Constructive criticism is healthy and might just lead to answers that would help the team, or at least help us all to understand where the weaknesses are on this team and where we can get better. Our voices as fans are often heard, if they are reasonable. (SPOTS for instance, may have helped the team to realize that now was a good time to give Troy Smith some playing time, and that we were in full support of it. [i saw it on other forums as well as here])

Raven07 enjoys being on here in his spare time, as do many of us, and is a great example with his positive thinking. :)

thank you....thank you so much for the support......i try to remain with a positve outlook with each week (doesnt matter whether it be Goof OR bad) because there's always something to be learned and worked on to make something else better and to ultimately make a difference in the outcome of the game or situation they're in....a positive outlook on everything (good or bad, doesnt really matter) always has something positive turnout/outlook

Either that, or you should make it so his posts need mod approval.

That's like Family Guy, where this girl tells Peter not to watch the video tape. He puts it in, and it's the movie "Mannequin." Then it shows Peter on the floor with the gross face.

So what did we learn?

To never publicly admit to seeing a romantic comedy involving either Drew Barrymore, Jimmy Fallon, and/or the new Evil Empire?
