The Browns terminated the contract of Jamal Lewis.
With the Possibility of us dealing Mcgahee, do you think it'd be a nice move to sign Lewis to a one year deal?

Pros: He could take over Mcgahee's goal line duties, He could retire a Raven, and we could all wear our #31 jerseys again !

Cons: Twinkle Toes brings no productivity to the redzone, so we just give the goal line role to Mclain or NGATA!

What do you guys think?

I like Jamal but re-signing him would be unnecessary. I really want to see what the team has in Parmele and Lawrence as RBs.

I agree, I just cant stand to not reminisce on the good ol' jamal days. I really think parmele is going to do well. Those kick returns in the last couple of games showed what those legs can do !

If he comes cheaply, I can't say no just because I think my own personal nostalgia factor makes it hard to say no. But from a strictly football standpoint, Jamal doesn't have much left to offer. He's not the bruiser he used to be and it's unlikely his running style will change nor is it likely that he'll have the same strength he did in his younger days.

I like the promise that Parmele has shown and I'm curious to see if Matt Lawrence can contribute. But if Jamal can show some flashes of his old brilliance, it'd be hard to say no.

Can he play wide receiver? jk. I truly think there is nothing in his tank, and I doubt you would pay him to just come in on goal line, seem like a waste of money when you have McClain that could do the same exact thing.
But if we get rid of McGahee, I would love from them to draft Tony Gerhart from Stanford to compliment Rice.

The thought of J-Lew being a Raven again is kinda nice, but in reality I don't think he has to much left. I hope he proves me wrong but he would not fit the Ravens overall plan. Another thing is the AP article I read said although he's been cleared to play again, he was having some serious post concussion problems from the injury he sustained in the Vikings game. I just don't want to see him go out that way, he'll always be a Raven to me!
>>Re-checked AP and Jamal has NOT been medically cleared to play again due to his concussion, sorry for my oversight.

No problem with me if the team loses McGahee and resigns Jamal, if its to retire a Raven I applaud the front office, if its to provide depth and to teach Parmele(who runs in a similiar style to Lewis) and Lawrence I cant complain either. Jamal Lewis is the consummate professional, much like Ray Lewis is or Derrick Mason all 3 of them work there asses off and just want to win. Jamal might not average more than 3 a carry but I cant say for the veteran minimum that I dont want him. His work ethic and desire is incredible, if his head can stay clear I have no problem with it.

Thanks for that post, I was about to ammend mine that in fact Jamal has NOT yet been medically cleared to play and would have to be to play again. After reading this, I'll second your Uh-oh!
