My ideal (somewhat realistic) receiving corps for 2010...
Anquan Boldin
Derrick Mason
Kelly Washington
Donte' Stallworth
Eron Riley or draft prospect(Danario Alexander maybe)

With this crew lets see keyshawn call them bums
As this group looks solid, I don't think we are going to give up much of our draft to grab anybody else. We will most likely build the rest through the draft and maybe one more small FA signing. I do like Danario Alexander by the way. All in all this signing is an upgrade.! We got a speed guy now who is out to prove himself. This could be huge for young Joe Flacco!

For me, Donte doesn't have to crack 1,000 yards this season for me to be happy. It will do absolute wonders for our offense just by having a guy who can consistently stretch the field and defenders. If he can stretch the field on a consistent basis, a lot of other factors of our offense will open up and possibly explode.

I, for one, am willing to forgive Donte Stallworth for any transgressions he may have committed in the past, and i am willing to take a chance on him as a Raven.

Welcome, Donte Stallworth.

whats a possible trade you would want to see other than boldin
We'll either trade for Brandon Marshall (highly unlikely), trade up in the draft for Dez Bryant (highly unlikely) or take a WR in the first or second round (most probable).

What would I like to see?

Trade 1st and Jared Gaither for Brandon Marshall. Trade Willis McG for Cromartie.

We still retain our picks in the draft minus first round and we're set.

I have been saying that any trade that doesn't effect this draft class would be o.k. IMO. If we could use next years draft picks for a guy that fits here in Bmore then I would be all for it.

I love this move

Donte Stallworth has made a huge mistake but he's not like others who don't learn and keep making the same mistake over and over. The Ravens obviously did some research on this, great move imo.

I was really high on mardy gilyard in this draft because of his shiftyness and could make a great slot receiver, but i feel donte fills that role perfectly and hes a bit more proven...I know a lot of people say that size doesnt make a good receiver but it is such an adavantage having a 6'2+ receiver going agaisnt DBs that are below 6 foot, just look at what happened to us this year. Not to mention size is crucial in the red zone and that was one of our biggest problem areas...with this said, i know a lot of you like gresham, as do i, but we need at least one big play making receiver that we can count on when needed...i can't wait for free agency and the draft to start, this year is (needs to be) our year.

P.S. Reed please come back

What happened to character?
Character left Joe looking like a deer in headlights in the playoff game in Indy because his receivers decided to stay in Baltimore and not even attempt to get open. Like Harbs said, You can't have 53 angels on a team.

Bisciotti and Harbaugh said in their press conference a few weeks ago, they're willing to sign player who have only made one mistake and learnt from it.

Stallworth fits that mold.

If we let Gaither go who will protect Flacco? Yes Oher filled in well but the right side of the line got blown up because we lack quality dept when either is not on the field. We have a young line and we still have to sign Ngata and others. I don't think it would be wise to spend that much for boldin, I think we will find a good player in the draft or via trade for less. Boldin will want 8-10mil per year and I don't think the front office would make a move like that.

Does anyone know anything about the contract? We'll have to let a similarly priced UFA walk now, no?

I'd rather let the Dolphins sign Boldin. He is a beast and all but this season pretty much proved that he is gonna miss a game or two. I also like the dolphins getting Boldin because it could possibly let a a WR or TE slide to us. The only WR worth trading for is Marshall. But he not worth trading multiple picks and maybe not our 1st. I do remember a report of him wanting to return to Florida and play for his home state as well last off season.

Agreed, and he made 1 mistake (a very huge one) but it's not like he has a long list of incidents. Lord knows I've made mistakes, I'd hate one issue to undo everything else I did in my life prior. If this was Pacman or someone then I would be a little more hesitant when it comes to character issues.

Seems to be a 1 year deal worth $900,000 with $300,000 in incentives. I'm not 100% sure on the release part of your question, but I do belive that we will have to let one of our guys go that has atleast the same type of contract or something like that.

I think a 2 and a player could get Boldin. Marshall would take a bit more and a BIGGER contract to maintain him.

Do you think Ozzie and Co. will still try to go after him?

I doubt Stallworth is the only signing they will make but bringing him could allow the Ravens to focus on the draft for a WR.

I propose a hiatus on ANY new WR thread for a period of 1 month. I am guessing it will not happen, but one can hope.

Good signing that I saw coming. I think this is a big step forwad for the offense. Hopefully he jumps in with both feet and hits the ground running. (insert another cliche at your leisure)

if we get another guy like A.Bryant,Holt, or Muhammed(sp) the mason will def. get his 1000 yards and take us to the big game. Plus our draft picks this will be a good offseason after all.

I would love to second that proposal. However, with FA starting on March 1st, people will be clamoring for guys like T.O., Kevin Walter and others.

Terrible signing!! He was released by the Cleveland Browns!! The Browns. Aside from that, I thought this orginization drafted/signed "high character" individuals. With what he did in Miami to that man, who he killed while driving drunk, he ought to be in prison!! Period. If it was you or I, we would be sitting in a prison cell right now. This celebrity/athlete status is old, real old. After all, they are human beings just like any othe rperson on this earth, as was the man that Stallworth killed. Wake up Bisciotti/Ravens orginization....this was a bad signing and delivers not only a bad message to our youth, but also the continuing fan support also. Not too proud to be called a Ravens fan today!!

I understand that but wouldn't releasing a player make him a Free Agent? The same as if a players contract was up and became a Unrestricted free Agent? All of these kinds of things don't make a whole lot of sense to me but I would think that a FA is a FA no matter how they hit the open market. If we don't have to give anybody up for this move that is great, not that somebody with this same contract would be that much of an impact for us to lose.

Do you guys watch football at all outside of the Ravens?! Boldin has missed games during 5 of the 7 seasons he has been in the NFL. He has 13 fumbles to Mason's career 7 fumbles. He isn't that young. I rather try and get some fresh guy out of college. Im getting chills down my spine that we have two players over 6 feet tall now in Kelley and Donte.
