Starting A Topic

26 posts in this topic

Is there any way we could possibly make it so that you have to have a certain amount of posts to start a topic.

As the board is growing quite rapidly, there are alot of similar threads going around. Most topics in the general discussion forum are about if troy should start, or if billick should be fired,or people's thories as to why our season has been poor, and it gets boring(that's why I hardly ever post in that section any more). if a member has been around for longer, they are more likely to know if a topic has come up, and less likely to duplicate it. I might also Inpire some more creative topic starting.

Thank you for bringing this up. You're my hero for the day. Santa can suck it.

Drkraven, it may be in the code of conduct but unless theres something to enforce the codes then these threads will keep popping up. What other forums do is that the first few posts have to submitted then mod-approved. Why not try something like that?

They'd probably be incredibly busy if they had to do that, and wouldn't get to spend as much time doing other mod things like...stuff. I enjoy how the mods are a part of the fans on here and that may take away from that if they had to read every n00b's post.

Oh, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Santa doesn't exist.

Actually, one or another of us does read every post. It can get real boring when the the same thing gets posted over and over.

Yeah, I'm really tired of these new comers who make stupid topics that no one agrees with.

What I really hate are these people who don't even have anything to say that's on topic...makes me so angry!

i especially dis-like those People whom come on here after a particular game after they won against us and post such crap and non-sense as "ah ha...we won...you lost!....you guys are losers!"...like what the bengal fans did in week 1 of the season... along with some other fans from other teams throughout the course of the season....its those types people in which infuriate me so.

I want to take my proposal a step further. NO NEW MEMBERS!

do they really think that we haven't disscused who will be our starting quarterback a million times?

do they think the '2008 draft' forum is there for no reason? or do they just think it's funny to put up draft related topics in general disscusions?

if it was hidden away I could understand, put it's 2 inches lower than general disscusions! LEARN TO READ!

I agree. I dont mind having discussions with people but my goodness. They come here and they start going saying the same stuff that has already been discussed. It gets annoying after a while, when you keep saying the same thing over and over. I have also noticed that the amount of insults has gone up. Some of these people cant seem to take a healthy debate and when they are in a corner they began making personal insults. I think if you insult someone before you become a veteran, you need to be kicked off the board.

Try thinking of new members like a draft class. Although you get a few duds, some of them turn out to be stars. Only by recruiting new members can we keep the forums fresh and interesting. Without them, it would be one big dump thread of the same old, same old. We need fresh insight on a regular basis.

The real problem is that this is the off-season and there isn't much to talk about now that our coaching staff is in place and free agency hasn't really kicked off.

Is there anyway that we could somehow advertise that we have a Message Board on the home page? To be honest, I never knew we had a Message Board at all.

If it wasn't for me browsing the website, looking for info about the new MD Raven plates, I would've never known about this. I mean I've been using BR.com for along time, usually just to check who's injured for the next game.

As for the Message Board is getting kind of addicting at the moment. I can't wait to have 10,000+members to talk to. Its always fun to seek out others opinions and maybe learn a thing or two also :)

Of course the off season, not too many people check the sites as opposed to Season play.

i luckily heard about it all a few weeks before the whole Forum thing/deal went into full effect.....and so i was pumped on joining, and when i did, i actually signed up here ALOT sooner than what it says my join date states. i actually tried joining the first time the Forums went into action but it said that my account and what not was "Validating" for about 1-2 months or something like that before it finally took effect.

weird but im perfectly fine and Love being on here :);):)
