who do you all think on the team is underrated?

39 posts in this topic

first, i think that mat stover is under rated! the guy is always clutch kicking the ball, and yet, i never here any love for him by the media, its always about vander shank, or venateri, granted he deserves it, but mat has been clutch for years, and gets no love.

i feel that this is starting to turn around i hope, but buddy lee hasn't gotten much love either, and yet he has lead all defensive tackles in the league with the most tackles made for hmmmmmmmmmmmmm four years, and yet no love, no pro bowls! THATS CHANGING THIS YEAR!

Gregg

Somehow that (relatively) little guy never gets the love he deserves. He better get some probowl love one of these days.

And I gotta agree with the Heap comments. I

How is Heap underrated? He's right up there with Gates and Gonzalez. Also, i think we lost the Colts game because of his stupid fumble. :P

I would say Trevor Pryce and Kelly Gregg and Corey Ivy.

Ok first off, you can't lose a game just because of one person. The only way you will lose a game because of the failure of one person is if you're playing on the chicago bears and you have to deal with Grossman's stupid a**. Secondly, i noticed that nobody gave any grief to Ray Lewis after the IND/BAL playoff game. I mean, he's the one that kept tackling Ed Reed everytime Reed got an interception.

You want to blame Ray for trying to make plays? That's just stupid. He deflected one pass that should have been intercepted by Reed, but that's about it. The guy can't see what's going on in the backfield while reading the QB.

I can definetly see where you're coming from. When Ray plays, he plays his heart out. But, i believe he should've read his defense better because if he did that he'd know that he had reed behind him. Also, it wasn't just 1 play he messed up. Ed reed could've had 3 interceptions in that game if Ray hadn't hit the ball out of his hands twice. Just something to think about.

Reed had 2 INTs

You can't blame Ray for deflecting passes, he doesn't have eyes in the back of his head.

hey sometimes accidents, and miscues happen, and they always happen at the times that are most inconveint! its all apart of the game! i spice things up alittle, another one of my favorate plays, which is also funny, is when haloti ngata ran that 59 yarder against tampa and stepped out of bounds! dude coulda had the touchdown, hehehehe, but ran out of gas!

There are a lot of underrated players on the Ravens team. Mine would have to be Evan Oglesby. Other than Gary Stills, he was probably the best special teams player last year. He was definitely the best gunner and had some textbook tackles. He had his best game against the Raiders where he not only played special teams but covered Randy Moss late in the game and got 2 pass deflections.

Jarrett Johnson, but by the end of this year, he won't be under-rated any more.

I totally agree, even though I may be a bit biased. :D

With AD's departure, Jarret's got his time in the sun. I can't wait to see our D this season!

Other under-rateds:

Kelly Gregg

Corey Ivy

Rex Ryan

(yes I consider our defensive guru under-rated. Feelings on that?)

Of course Cody is under-rated. He hasn't been healthy enough to string together a full season yet!

I'm just hoping that his injury problems don't end up making him a bust. I was excited when I heard we drafted him, but the injuries and not being able to see him play have been disappointing. Yes I know..injuries happen but the poor guy seems almost cursed. There's always SOMETHING.

It happened twice actually.

Kelly Gregg is the most underrated player on the Ravens, maybe even one player throughout the whole NFL. This really isn't a surprise to me though, I mean defensive lineman never get the respect they deserve, and I know since I play DT. They are the reason for sacks, and behind-the-line tackles, they are the reason the RB's get tired.

I mean with this said, Kelly Gregg is better then the average defensive lineman, not many can do what he does, you got to give the man some credit.

His work ethic and desire were questioned in Buffallo too. I don't think we can call Magahee underrated as most analyst expected him to be better than what he's produced thusfar and he got alot of attention in Buffalo.
