Chargers Exploring Trade For Cromartie

Mcgahee for cromartie would be a steal for us, willis is getting older and older and his value is decreasing less and less. I say we go for him and give SD there RB and a draft pick and hes ours. Cromartie is also a first rounder

The Ravens will be keeping McGahee so Cromartie isn't an option(I never thought he was). The news came out late last week.

So it looks like we will keep our tandem of Mcgahee and Rice, where do you guys think Cromartie will land because he is on his way out. I could possiibly see them dealing with the Vikings and Cowboys.

I would hate to see it... But I think he will be a Jet if traded. Revis and Cro as their starting Cb's would be scary. Leon Washington is a RFA, and they have Jones and Greene they can afford to loose one.

After seeing this it makes since http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/02/23/cromartie-has-complained-about-the-chargers-playing-too-much-zone/
Rex having to man corners in his organized chaos D.

The only guy the Jets could trade is Jones, and the Chargers would be fools to trade Cromartie for Jones. Jones is going to be 32 next year, why in the world would you do that. Washington is their scat and receiving back and Greene is their between the tackles power back.

I read on Espn insider that the lions offered RB M. Moore and a 4th to the chargers for Cromo and they were seriously considering it... Mcgahee is MUCH better than M. Moore so wouldnt mcgahee and a 5th be worth a Pro-bowl CB?? Also, I know that in order to get boldin it would cost a 2nd and a 4th... I understand no1 in this organization wants to get rid of draft picks (which is understandable because Ozzie and Co are draft geniuses, but give up a 2,4,5 and mcgahee for a pro bowl corner and pro bowl wr and still have our 1st and 3rd picks (which is where we have thrived in the past) ala Oher and Webb... This team is championship caliber NOW so why not do like what we did for 2000 and add two probowlers to take us to the top!

With the 1st pick we could take a receiving TE like Gresham or Dickerson and the 3rd round we could take one of the SEC backs that could fall that far like Hardesty to replace mcgahee (which Mcclain will do anyway)

Thoughts...

also... I know most of you guys arent high on TO, but imagine rolling out a WR core with Boldin, TO, D Mason, and Stallworth! Scary right! Then Heap mentoring Gresham/ Dickerson like sharpe did for heap

The secondary could look like
CBs: Cromartie, Webb(once healthy), Foxworth, Washington... that would be 4 very good CBs
Safetys: Ed(he will be back), Landry, Zibby, and Nakamura(sry i know its spelled wrong/once healthy)

That would be a GREAT secondary...

Really?

You'd give up a 2nd AND a 4th for Boldin? Even just a 2nd is a stretch for Boldin at this juncture in his career let alone adding a 4th rounder to the mix.

And dont get poeple started on here about the Cromartie "Im always hurt, play soft, get KILLED on double moves" trade for McGahee AND yet again another draft pick.

Horrible moves!!

We should trade McGahee for Cromartie, because Ray Rice did great last year and if we let McGahee go then we could gve Parmele a shot who did great in the preseason games last year and has done wonderful on kickoff returns.

Everyone>Cromartie

LOL!

Maybe it's because he's a Seminole but I just can't stand Cromartie. After his second season, people were talking about him like he was the second coming of Deion. While he's certainly been tackling like Primetime , his coverage hasn't even been the best on his team.

Cromartie is overrated. 07 was by far his best season (10 interceptions in 8 games). But he's done nothing since them. He's certainly not worth a 1st and 3rd rounder, probably not even a 1st rounder alone. And believe it or not, CB isn't the biggest need we have right now.

Per ESPN Insider, Cromartie could be had for a 3rd rounder. I don't have a subscription to it so I don't know the whole story, but I feel like that's a pretty good deal but only if we don't trade any other draft picks.

Bah, nonsense. I'm sorry we're taking the torch for most legendary defense in the NFL away from you guys, but anyone who thinks Cromartie is gonna bomb in Rex's system doesn't know their sh*t..

Everyone hates the guy for doing EVERY move we want our organization to do. I like how he is aggresive that way. If we dont go after Boldin or Marshall tomorrow at 9:01 PM and the Jets do and land one of them, I am going to be pissed at Ozzie and company, not Rex.

And I love how people will talk a player up when they are a FA or on the trade table for the Ravens but as soon as Rex or a rival gets them they are "garbage".

Lets get it in tomorrow and get some talent on this team.

Now that the deal is done and Cromartie is a Jet, you can continue the conversation here
