Wildest Madden Games You've Had...

55 posts in this topic

Simply describe the wildest, craziest games you've had playing Madden.

I had an incredible one a few months ago playing '09 on PS2 with no slider adjustments.

I was the Eagles playing the Browns on All-Madden. The final score escapes my memory but I know both teams scored over 50 and I won by 3 points.

Cribbs returned 4 kicks-offs for TDs(I still don't know how), I threw for a litte over 550 yards with McNabb and three of my WRs had over 100 receiving yards.

I almost had a heart attack on the final play where Anderson completed a deep pass to Edwards. I had positioned Dawkins 50 yards off the ball and luckily made the tackle after Baylon caught the pass and broke Sheppard's tackle.

It was a great game.

one of the most frustrating and intense madden games ever happened to me the other day. i was playing madden 10 on the 360, it was in all madden and in franchise mode. i was playing the last game of the regular season against the steelers for the division. they went up 17-0 by half time. i returned the half time kickoff with webb for a td. then i got a pick six from big ben. fastforeward to one minute left in the fourth. i had the ball on the steeler's 2 yard line and was running the clock so i could score to win the game. on 3rd down with 20 seconds left i handed it to mcgahee up the middle and dove into the endzone. but he fumbled in the air and the steelers recovered and ran it all the way down the feild for a td. :34853_doh:

I remember a game i played against a mate of mine a while ago(back when moss played for the Vikings). I was up 50 to 44(not much D in this game). The last few seconds of the game he goes deep to Randy Moss. I stupidly went for the pick with C-Mac instead of just making the tackle.
Moss caught the ball and had about 40 yards to run wit nobody infront of him. My mate is up celebrating 20 yards out and Moss is high stepping his way to the end zone. Then out of nowhere Ed Redd appears and dives at Moss bringing him down inside the 1 yard line as time expires. I craked up laughing straight away and my mate was so pissed lol through the controller down and didnt play me again for another month haha prob my most pleasing madden moment to date.

This game wasnt insane but it was actually a good football game without any of the gimmick crap you see online in Madden. I played a guy who was 211-102 online and he was the Panthers, first time Ive ever played anyone who was the Panthers. The way the game worked out was my play calling had to be precise, if I thought he was running up the middle I had to blitz the MLBs, if i thought it was a sweep or Power O I had to blitz to the strong side. On pass downs I had to zone blitz depending on the formation or use Suggs on the Dline in dime. On offense it was the same thing, I had to run the ball and use play action, throw out of 3 TE singleback sets to keep him off balance. I eventually user picked him with Reed late in the 4th that set up a PA TD to Heap that put me up 17-7 before he quit. It wasnt a ridiculous game by any means, but it was the only game when Ive had to call blitzs to stop the run and correctly run a pro style offense. Usually I can give it to kids just sitting in basic coverages all game and throwing the crap out of the ball.

Madden 07

Me (Broncos) vs. My Friend (Colts)

Most insane game with the scoring going up in the 60's.I had the lead in the 3rd and then Champ Bailey gets hurt and everything falls apart. My friend came back to tie it up and then I got the ball back and threw a INT in which he turned into a Peyton Manning 2 minute drill simulation....I still get talk about it today.

I just started a new franchise in 10, i traded d mase plus a 1st and 3rd round pick after the preseaon for Vincent Jackson from the chargers. Wr's in order are V jackson,k washington, clayton, dwill. First game of the season against kc k wash catchs 7 balls for 239 yards and 3 tds. V jackson catchs 6 for 157 and 2 tds. Flacco sets a nfl record for 8 td's thrown in the game...70-10 me! lol...gotta love this season coming up. Oh and much love for foxworth forcing a fumble after a sack from cassel and l. webb scooping it for the td! Reed had a pick too but he only took it 25 yds =(

Oh my god,my happened like a few weeks ago...

I was the Giants and I was playing the Dolphins and I just hit a FG with 1 second on the clock so i kicked it long and he returned it all the way, so it went into overtime because he failed a 2 point conversion. And so he chose to recieve in OT and I stopped him on the 11 - 15 yard line and so first play, he throws a bomb for Hartline, but it gets jumbled andout of no where Fasano grabs the ball and I stop him at my 1 yard line, so the dude kicks the FG and he won. Great game though 36-33.

Went to the Super Bowl against the Eagles in 2011 on all madden (IQ at the time was a perfect 700 somehow, dont ask I have no idea lol). I ended up winning the game 9-6 in just the grossest slugfest of all time in Madden, neither team could move the ball or score and neither team go into the redzone. Each punt return was crucial as was the coverage, both teams forced 3 turnovers. I threw a pick going for it all on PA and fumbled twice being sacked. I picked McNabb off twice and forced a fumble on westbrook with Lewis. It was a game i was genuinely nervous playing as it seemed like each play the stalemate could be broken with one bad play call or one bad decision.

I've posted this in the Epic Madden Victory, but it fits here as well:

I have an Epic Madden victory from a few years back. I was at a friend's house and we were having a round-robin tournament. My one friend had beaten everybody else pretty bad (only one close game) and I was the last one he played because I got there late. I think it was Madden 06 or 07, but my friend was playing as the Ravens and said I had to choose a different team. I went with the Chiefs and he started out absolutely crushing me. I couldn't stop him on defense and couldn't get anything moving on defense. He was taunting the hell outta me, especially because I was punting and kicking field goals. I was getting pretty pissed off, so I decided I was just going to have fun, regardless of the outcome of the game. It turned into something of a shootout after that (lots of 1-3 play drives) but I was slowly gaining on him. With under two minutes to go, I scored to come within 4 points. I went for the onsides kick and somehow recovered it. I scored with around 30 seconds left in the game. I knew he was going to run an off-tackle play, because Jamal Lewis was unstoppable when he did that, so I ran a run-blitz to that side, he only got a short gain and had to use his last timeout. I faked a blitz the next play and he ran a play action, passed to Heap for only 15 yards and the clock expired as he was running a hurry-up for one more play.

Everyone went nuts, cause my friend was being a real d-bag when playing (he loved sitting and watching the instant replays, even pausing the game to watch them again.) He demanded a rematch right there, but after a quick score by me, followed by a pick-six, my friend threw the controller down and stormed out of the house to my screams of, "This game counts too! I beat you twice!"

By the way, the final score was something like 90-87

My most intense game ever was a 3-0 victory over my cousin in overtime. I had B-more he had Miami. Our D's dominated the whole game, but he made a mistake and blitzed the MLB and I quickly passed it to Rice over the middle (similar to our overtime win againts pitt) and ran straight up the field for about 55 yards, kicked the field goal and won. Such an easy finish for one heck of a tough game.

I just had a good one last night with a steelers fan from London.

I was the Ravens and I was playing the Steelers. 4th quarter and there is 40 seconds left. I drive down the field and score a TD and im in the lead 47-41. I go for a onside kick and Antwan Barnes grabs it , and then he fumbles the ball and so the Steelers get the ball, the guy took only 2 plays to get in the lead. Willie Parker gets a 31 yard run and now wer at my 11, and then Big Ben throws a TD pass to Mike wallace.

Its 47-48 only 17 seconds on the clock, I got 1 timeout and he has 1 as well. I throw to Ray Rice and gain 15 yards and the dude uses his timeout, so now I have 11 seconds left, I use a quick slant and throw to David Tyree who makes a great catch I quickly use my timeout with only 4 seconds left.

Im my 49 yard line and I do a Hail Mary, well Ryan Clark pushes Clayton and I get a pass interference penalty which brings my all the way down to his 7 yard line and theres only 1 second left. I go for a TD pass because I didnt want to be cheesy and end an excellent game by a FG, so I throw a TD to Mason, but the stupid guy who is controlling Ziggy Hood, gets an approachment penalty, so i move down to his 2 yard line and I run McClain in for the TD and win the game. I won 54-48

I mean what an idiot this kid was, I run the ball at the Goaline and he chose to do a Prevent, so he barely had any guys up on the line and McClain just walked in

Just curious, what was your reasoning on the onside kick with the lead?

Had an epic battle with the Ravens today. Just like the real deal: Scoreless 1st qtr, tied at 7 in the 2nd, up by 7 briefly in the third. Held off the last second onslaught to win it 21-14.

I dominated all the offensive stats (including TOP) but had THREE picks! Both sides missed FG's and I sacked the Raven QB about 6-7 times. Most of the points for both sides came on at least one lucky play in that drive.

It was also a Monday Nighter in B-More.....I loved every second of it!

Well it worked for me at the end ofteh 2nd quarter and at the star of halftime, so i thought to go for it, 3rd time the charm, plus 40 seconds let, i thought i should try it so i could just run the clock down if I got the ball.

Here's another wild Madden games I had a while ago:

I was playing as the Ravens against the Steelers in Madden 07. After a tight game, I was down 24-20 with roughly 3 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. After putting together a great drive, I punched it in with Jamal from the one-yard line to go up 27-24 with only about 40 seconds to go. However, Holmes returned the ball to the 35-yard line and Ward got a 30+ yard catch run(Ed made a TD-saving, shoe-string tackle) and Reed kicked the tying FG as time ran out to take the game OT

Pittsburgh won the toss and on the second play of the drive, I picked off Big Ben with Mike Smith(remember him?). However I shanked the FG with Stover so Pittsburgh took over again. This time, Ben threw a bomb only for me to pick him off again with Reed. Back on offense, I ran a quick dive with Jamal before going deep myself with Clayton and connecting for a 50-yard catch. I pounded the ball inside with Jamal a few more times before drilling the game-winner.

Great game.

I did play way too vanilla, especially on defense. That 4th down at the end was pretty close.

My most memorable was in Kuwait, May 2006. I wasnt really good at madden, but a huge group of us would play every day on All Madden with no computer help.

This man named Willie Walls was unbeaten with the Bengals. I mean he would literally rip anyone up by the end of the 1st quarter. So he took the Bengals and I took the Chiefs. I loved running the TE Post with Gonzalez. It was an extremely defensive game. Neither of us scored a point by the end of the 4th qtr. Holding him scoreless for 4 quarters was a feat all in itself. We start OT and I received the ball. Driving from my own 15 down to his 25yd line, after making multiple 4th down conversions. It was 4th and 13 so I decided Im going to go for the win. Well I never did a pressure kick on madden where the camera drops down and you can barely see anything with the hearbeat. I missed the FG just a tad to the right. 1st play of his drive, 75yd Bomb to Ochocinco and he ends the game. That was the most intense Madden game I ever played. My heart was racing and I was breaking out in sweats.

Just a question but how are you guys allowing over 30 points a game on defense?
[/quote]

I'm usually pretty good defensively on Madden. If I give up 30+ points against the computer, its either when I play a high-powered offense like the Colts or the opposing team team returns a kick or two back for a TD(I cover kicks well but the return-men always break multiple tackles).

Against people, I usually play well defensively but there so many are times when I'll call the right coverage but a CB or safety simply gets beat and I give up a big play.

Getting pressure with your front four is almost impossible at times on Madden and sending the house is always risky.

I remember the first ever Madden game I played, can't quite remember what year it was. Anyway, I was Tennessee playing against the Colts on All Madden playing 15 minute quarters. Long story short I won 106-99 with both QBs ending up with around 800 yards. Now that was a game short of D.

Actually just had my best franchise game ever...and would'nt u know it was between me and the steelers lol. They jumped out on me early 14-10. By the end of the second quarter we were trading 3 and outs. Come back from half time get 3 and outted, they turn around and score another one on me. I come back and on what appeared to be THE HOUSE PLUS THE KITCHEN SINK blitz on 2nd and long i lob a ball to d.will and he takes it 80+ yards for a td. I got for the 2 point and get it. They manage to get down the field after eating a ton of clock and put up another td. I was for the 1st time ever able to block the FG somehow. Trade a couple 3 and outs i make a wonderful stop with about 45 seconds left in the 4th quarter and no time outs. Get a big gainer from k. washington but in the middle of the field >.<. Scramble to the line throw a incomplete pass intended for clayton. 8 second's left on the clock i send Vincent Jackson straight up on the sideline's and parlay the other receivers to drag coverage off him leaving him 1 on 1. Ball snap's the db tryed to press jackson he gets right by em i throw the bomb hoping he can come down with it as the safetys charging him...Catch's the ball i stand up screaming and win by 1 point...Helluva game.

That is so completely far-fetched. ;)

I love my games against the Ravens. (New England and Indy as well).

At this point in my Franchise, the Jets and Chiefs have been playing me tough...although I won the toss the other day and elected to kick the snot out of the Jets.
