Agreed. Plus, notice how he disappeared for the better part of the first 3 periods before finally showing up in OT. I barely heard his name called and can't remember a single significant play he made prior to OT.

Ill agree to that, but much like football in hockey you can do other things to help your team win when the puck isnt goin in the net for you that night. Crosby isnt close to as good a 2 way player as Toews is, but Crosby took care of his own end tonight in a tight game, and when the chips were down with USA stealing momentum with 25 seconds left he scored the biggest goal of his life to date. He was clutch when it mattered most.

Toews is a master with and without the puck and I can't imagine how good the Penguins could actually be if they drafted him. They took Jordan Staal 2nd overall in 2006, Toews was taken with the next pick. Toews played a big part in this game as he did in the whole tournament, he was one of our better forwards throughout.

This is the kind of thing that urks me the most, I watch almost every Penguin game and Crosby hasn't been that player that you talk him up to be since his Rookie year. If you weren't a Capital fan, I know for a fact you would agree with me. I live in Canada and ALL of my friends are more about Hockey than football, some like the Habs, some like the Wings, horrid Maple Buddy fans, few Calgary fans and even a Philly fan and they're all jealous of the fact that Crosby is on the Pens, even the Philly fan.

Don't get me wrong either, I dig the Ravens just as much as the Penguins.
No you do not. You don't even know my name; how can you possibly think that you know enough about me to know how I would feel about a player? I just gave you an example. The Patriots are not my team's rival; I don't dislike Brady more than I dislike the average non-Ravens player, but I still consider him to be a whiner. It'd mostly likely be the same situation with Crosby.
Ive never seen ever Penguins game, and I doubt most people can say the same. In the games Ive seen him play, hes constantly targeted as a supreme talent whom 4th line guys constantly take liberties on. The games Ive seen, Ive never seen a straight flop when nothing has happened. Maybe you've seen a game I havent, entirely possible. For the crap talking, i dont want to get into an argument here or drop the "you must never have played hockey", but everyone talks crap on the ice. Its beyond routine. Even Lady Byng trophy winners do.

Then you must be a big Ovechkin fan. Sorry to all the Caps fans but if you guys don't win a Stanley Cup in the next 10 years it's because Ovechkin doesn't make people around him better, as you can see team Russia had to put Malkin on his line just to get him going in the Olympics. There are plenty of other reasons but that's the main one.

I also didn't see one bit of talking from Sid on the ice either this whole Tournament.

I'm also sorry I don't know your name and acted like I knew what you thought.

I think we should get away from this, its going to turn into an ugly argument sooner than later. Great game today, Ron Wilson's post game interview hit the nail on the head. North American's play the game the right way, put the game on the huge ice surface and it turns into a damn soccer game. With zero forecheck and the ever glorious New Jersey Devil trap. I wasnt much of a fan of Wilson when he was in San Jose (and I lived in a San Jose suburb)as I thought he tried to be too much like a collegiate coach always yelling and berating players, when he had guys that were in their 30s. But his post game interview today was pretty much spot on, cudos to Wilson for that.

What a surprise. I didn't even see that particular change of subject coming.

I didn't change the subject I simply didn't have any more to say, I made my case.

Crosbyitis hits Caps fans hardest:).

It wasn't too bad; I was amused at how they made light of the cauldron problem they had with the opening ceremony.

This is not true. US of A had the best Goaltender in the entire Olympics in Miller. And as we know, the goalie is the most important aspect of Hockey. With a superb goalie, you can be in every game.
You are mistaken. Ryan Miller wasn't the best coming into the Olympics. However, he PLAYED amazingly.

It's a lot easier to stand out in a game when your playing an NHL game, it's totally different when EVERY player on the team is an All-Star. Crosby wasn't a ghost, he made some nice plays in the defensive end, and I definitely remember when Crosby laid the body hard to his Pen teammate Orpik and former teammate Malone. You can't expect any player to score 2 points a game when their on a team of All-Stars.
Crosby was far from impressive in the Olympics, facts are facts. What's even more unimpressive about him is his diving, whining, and cheap shots. I have to watch MY team play Crysby 8 times every season. How many times have I witnessed Crosby run his mouth, then back down when the gloves are about to come off? I see him flop down to the ice and cover his face when the wind from a passing player hits him, on a regular basis!

You are high on him because you are Canadian and he scored the overtime goal for you to win the gold. To be honest, here in America we would be ASHAMED to have such a coward representing our country.

He's a talented hockey player, that's about it.

Much like Ovechkin, who has also yet to get in a real fight in the NHL. America has had its fair share of clowns represent its country, to say America would be ashamed is a total crock.

Heres a couple Ovechkin dives for you.

Leave this argument alone, its going nowhere but calling out about 50 NHL players, American, Canadian, Russian that have flopped in their careers.

Actually Ovechkin has been in a fight, I think it was his rookie year. He tried to get tough with the Flyers and ended up getting taught a lesson by Richards.

As for American clowns I won't even go there, too many times do you see them take big hits and not get up, worse than Russians. You guys have the ultimate clown in Jeremy Roenick, thankfully he doesn't play anymore.

I'm also high on Crosby because he's the best hockey player in the world, he's not near one of my favourites. I'm doneski.

Wow that comment made me want to puke, then laugh, then puke again. Who in their right mind can say that they see American players take big hits then not get up? American players are just as hard nosed as Canadian players. I've played hockey my whole life. Against Canadians, Americans, Swedes, Czechs and Russians. Although some of the styles of play were different I can't really say that just because one person was from a certain country that they couldn't take a hit. To say otherwise is a complete joke.
I'm sure John Leclair, Keith Tkachuk,Chris Chelios,Mike Richter, Mike Modano, and Brian Leech would all tell you otherwise as well.

This argument is so totally pointless. Every nation has clowns, Canada had Claude Lemieux, great player, total clown. Sweden had Ulf Samuelsson, Finland had Esa Tikkanen, Russians had Darius Kasparaitis. USA had Darian Hatcher. Every nation has guys that have taken a dive before in their careers. You say American's would be ashamed of Crosby, but not their own guys that have taken a dive before? I find that hard to believe but that is your opinion.

It's time to have fun with some math now...

USA population of 305,000,000 roughly/9 gold medals = around 1 gold medal for every 33 million people.

Canada population of 35,000,000 roughly/14 gold medals = around 1 gold for every 2/3 million people.

So if you guys were as good as athletes as us you would of had around 122 gold medals if my math is right(but it probably isn't).

Now I am just playing around here don't shred me to bits.

That's the argument countries like Slovakia try to make too. If it makes you feel better about being outdone by two countries on your home turf, then that's good for you.

How were we outdone? We set a record for most gold medals at a winter Olympics, and this was the first winter Olympics that Canada's government actually funded its athletes...

By having two countries (one of which sent around 40 fewer athletes than Canada) "Own the Podium."

I don't really see how we were "outdone" considering we WON the most events. I'd rather have 14 golds than 9 wouldn't you.

I still fail to see how we were out done, while setting records for Olympic champions. We were out done in amount of medals, but not in the "quality" (bad word I know, but you know what im trying to say) of medals. Alot of Americans seem to be upset with the "Own the Podium" fundraiser. Mariotti wrote an article that had a whole paragraph dedicated to the Canadian program. Its like setting an ambitious goal was total blasphemy. And for a small nation who doesnt fund amateur athletes to the extent other countries do, and we end up setting a record, yet people still hate on the job Vancouver did. Im sorry for once in Canada's existence we actually attempted to not be the nice guys and just win.

Note that Crosby FAR EXCEEDS Claude Lemieux as Canada's clown. Also I belive that the entire hockey community should be ashamed of Crosby, not just one country.
