Canada has tied the record for the most gold medals with 13 in any Winter Olympic games.

Woooooooo, and Jay Mariotti made fun of Canada in an article because we said we were going to try to win the Olympics...save it Jay you clown.

Well I definitely underestimated our USA Hockey Team. I feel that they were extremely lucky to beat the Canadians. When team Canada gets rolling they look downright scary, like in the last 5 minutes of that game. Ryan Miller is the Antero Nittymaki of this Olympics(Nittymaki carried the Fins to the Silver in 06 and received the M.V.P)

One thing that I'm not liking is some of the Media comparing this team to the 1980 team. I think that it should be a crime to cheapen what that 1980 team did, and although Canada is far superior on paper, Team USA is playing with heart and guts. In hockey those two things can take you a long way.

No spoilers as far as the game goes, guys. I'll be at a baby shower...have to watch when I get home. :)

Also mad props to the USA 1 bobsled team. Seeing them wearing gold medals was totally awesome!

I love it. It couldn't get any better than that! What most mainstream or casual sports fans don't realize is that even though these are Professionals, this would be like a Canadian football team beating the AFC Allstars in a game, or a Canadian baseball team beating an American team featuring the best baseball players in the world.

Would it be a MIRACLE? not even close, but it would validate every U.S. born hockey player's right to be respected.

Damn straight. Canadian hockey players have looked down their noses at the US-born for so long.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T find out what it means to me! :)

I wouldnt go that far, the CFL is comprised of college players that arent good enough to play in the NFL, under sized, too slow, weak arms, you name it. Canadian national baseball team this last WCB didnt even field a starting lineup of primarily major leaguers. The American hockey team is comprised solely of NHL players, with the likes of Parise, Miller, Kessel, Kane they are all stars. Would this be an upset, yes, does Canada have more and better depth, yes, but a far cry from the comparisons you made.

You missed my point. It has nothing to do with skill levels. I already alluded to the fact that there are great NHL players on the American team though you have to admit that Parise,Miller,Kessel, and Kane are a far cry from Broduer,Crosby,Thornton,Heatley,Marleau,Richards,Iginla and ect..all the way down the Canadian roster.

My point is that losing to a Canadian team in Football or Baseball would be a HUGE black eye for us. Losing to us in Hockey is just as bad to Canadians.

Great game, unreal. America will be even more of a force if thats possible, in 2014.

Maybe it's just me, but when my team loses, no matter how close the game was, it's never a good game.

Sochi is four years from now; there's alot that can change.

Barring your young stars forgetting how to play hockey your team will still have an average age under 30, all with olympic experience. Bodes very well.

ps your welcome for Stastny and Parise, they're half canadian ;).

Sidney Crosby wearing a gold medal can be considered desecration of it. In my book, he is scum and a coward.

What a game...one for the ages.

Of course I'm majorly bummed that Team USA didn't win but I'm happy at the same time. Mike Richards and Chris Pronger will go back to Philly with gold medals around their necks.

Crosby scored and I dropped a mighty f bomb...with my mom on the couch right beside me  and she didn't even yell at me like she usually does when I let an f bomb go.

This is not true. US of A had the best Goaltender in the entire Olympics in Miller. And as we know, the goalie is the most important aspect of Hockey. With a superb goalie, you can be in every game.

That's too bad because if he just scored the game winning goal for your Olympic mens team I think you'd be pretty pumped!

Ill def need to hear an explanation of that, I understand alot of people are Ovechkin fans here, but in all the games Ive watched Crosby plays the game right.

Crosby is one of the few NATURAL leaders in the NHL, he is one of the hardest workers in the league, he works just as hard in his end as he does in the offensive zone, doesn't take shifts off and leads by example. What more would you want out of a player.

His resume speaks for itself, along with his Stanley Cup ring and Olympic Gold.

You've never seen him flop like a soccer player?

My issue with him isn't so much his playing as it his talking. He's a whiner. If he wasn't a Pen I'd feel the same way about him that I feel about Tom Brady: a whiny little girl, but a good player. However, he is a whiner and a Pen, therefore I strongly dislike him.

Agreed. Plus, notice how he disappeared for the better part of the first 3 periods before finally showing up in OT. I barely heard his name called and can't remember a single significant play he made prior to OT.

I was actually thinking more along the lines of injures and/or other teams deciding to stop sucking.

Ryan Miller gets injured and we're even bigger losers.

It's a lot easier to stand out in a game when your playing an NHL game, it's totally different when EVERY player on the team is an All-Star. Crosby wasn't a ghost, he made some nice plays in the defensive end, and I definitely remember when Crosby laid the body hard to his Pen teammate Orpik and former teammate Malone. You can't expect any player to score 2 points a game when their on a team of All-Stars.

This is the kind of thing that urks me the most, I watch almost every Penguin game and Crosby hasn't been that player that you talk him up to be since his Rookie year. If you weren't a Capital fan, I know for a fact you would agree with me. I live in Canada and ALL of my friends are more about Hockey than football, some like the Habs, some like the Wings, horrid Maple Buddy fans, few Calgary fans and even a Philly fan and they're all jealous of the fact that Crosby is on the Pens, even the Philly fan.

Don't get me wrong either, I dig the Ravens just as much as the Penguins.

Ive never seen ever Penguins game, and I doubt most people can say the same. In the games Ive seen him play, hes constantly targeted as a supreme talent whom 4th line guys constantly take liberties on. The games Ive seen, Ive never seen a straight flop when nothing has happened. Maybe you've seen a game I havent, entirely possible. For the crap talking, i dont want to get into an argument here or drop the "you must never have played hockey", but everyone talks crap on the ice. Its beyond routine. Even Lady Byng trophy winners do.

I dont know if this is relevant or not, but im not a Penguins fan, I was a Steve Yzerman Red Wings fan.
