Is Adam Terry Coming Back Next Season?

10 posts in this topic

I know last week there was an Adam Terry thread, but that one was just comparing him to the dude from "the hangover" (his name escapes me at this moment) So please don't merge it mods.

Is Adam Terry going to be back for next season? I know he had the knee injury in TC last summer, but does anyone know his contractual situation?

I really hope he comes back, he is valuable depth at Tackle. Although he's not a starter, he's a pretty good backup tackle, and he can play either side. I know i'm probably going to get roasted for this one, but he is head and shoulders better than Cousins and Moll. We had a bit more trouble protecting Joe when Cousins was starting in place for Gaither.

Terry was also a huge part of Cam's unbalanced package last season. This year we got stuffed on the goal line a few times.

What do you think? I think Terry is a good backup and role player to have on the O-line and that he could make a difference.

I've been a fan of Terry's since the beginning. His durability is definitely an issue and that is disappointing to me (as Dan Cody was also a disappointment).

As much as I'd love to see him stay, the question is is he worth the team keeping him and giving him a roster spot if he's going to be an injury risk every season?

I changed the topic title for you to be more descriptive.

We generally don't merge topics that are SPECIFIC and have a STATED purpose that is different enough from another thread about the same player. The only time where we would then merge a specific thread is if the conversation then leads to a similar discussion already being had in another thread. Until then, it stays separate.

Remember, be DESCRIPTIVE. Any thread with just the name of a player not only gets overlooked or dismissed by most casual visitors, but it also doesn't tell much about what the topic is really about.

adam terry is not even a good backup T. i would rather have a reliable backup on the roster in case one of our starting Ts get hurt - which seems to happen every year. Terry is responsible for the pressure kyle boller had to face his entire tenure here. teams weren't even blitzing and the end coming from terry's side was always in boller's face causing boller to panic and quickly throw it out for some DB to get it. Boller also never started an entire season his who tenure cuz he had some injury. McNair was able to fare better because of his mobility and leadership, he was the kind of guy who took the hit and still made a good completion, but even he battled countless injuries, i remember especially the one hit he took near his groin (lol) thanks to adam terry and mcnair ended up never playing again. i actually think terry is actually really nice guy and team mate, but his just an awful player in the pros. add to that we're always losing time-outs because terry is on the ground injured.

He gets injured a lot and I'll question if they bring him back next season considering we always try to aim for younger talent.I can see him returning for some off-season practices but not making the team this year.

Honestly, i have forgotten how his presence affects the O-line. Its just been so long since I have seen him play that I just dont remember how the O-line is like with him.

I don't know but whoever he is, he must suck because I've never heard of him.

Pretty sound logic, because of this response we can shut this thread down! :th_laundry:

To blame Terry for Kyle Boller consistantly running for his life is a complete joke. The guy started 0 games in 2005 while only playing in 7. He only started 2 games in 06, and started 9 in 2007. Steve Mcnair was injured going into week 1 of the 2007 season, he had nothing at the start of that game...had nothing at all to do with Adam Terry.

Furthermore, our ENTIRE offensive line was TERRIBLE at pass protection from about 2003 until 08..not just Adam Terry.

Steve Mcnair was just at the end of his career, and Kyle Boller was just a sub par Quarterback end of story.

Terry is head and shoulders better than Cousins at backup Tackle, so unless they make an upgrade I see no reason why he shouldn't be back. He was a force in the Ravens short yardage packages. A lot of people are worried that we can't throw the ball downfield, but we also got snuffed on the goaline a few too many times this year..there's a huge difference between Adam Terry and Chris Chester in those situations
