Titanic

Ok, I get made fun of all the time for this but I think Titanic is the greatest movie ever. Seriously it has awesome acting, a great script, and outstanding special effects. Not to mention the music. It was the highest grossing film until Avatar broke its record. I was very dissapointed when I heard about that because I highly doubt Avatar is better than Titanic. Most will probably disagree about best ever but don't you guys agree that Titanic is at least one of the best movies ever made?........Im a 15 year old boy and im not afraid to admit that im a HUGE Titanic fan!

The acting was alright and the script was a little thin, IMO. They were really reaching to build enough of a reason for the audience to care about the protagonists before the ship went down. And then after the ship sank, it was all a bit anti-climactic. The movie was average to me; it's only in the discussion of one of the best ever because of its epic scale, but that's about all that it got right. For such a modern "classic," it was a popcorn flick disguised as Hollywood royalty.

I'll say Citizen Kane was possibly the greatest movie of all time. The acting was amazing all across-the-board, the protagonist was one of those rare characters that you loved and hated at the same time, and the cinematography was outstanding. It wasn't the perfect film, but it had enough of the right elements to not only overshadow its own flaws but also point out the flaws of other films that would follow.

The film class I took a couple of semesters ago consisted of a lot of people who absolutely hated older films, but every single person in the room loved Citizen Kane after we watched it. No exaggeration.

lol, I mean, it's one of your favorites and that's fine. But after all of the different movies I've seen in my years and the huge variety of films I've seen, I can't watch it and say it's one of the greatest of all time. I didn't think it was great when I first saw it as a kid, and didn't think it was any better when I saw it numerous times over the years, and that still didn't change when I saw it as an adult. It was boring. But that's just me. ;)

I remember watching Titanic with my parents when it first came out (I'm 17) and the only thing I remember asking my parents is why didn't the girl like Leonardo DiCaprio onto the piece of wood with her. I thought she did it on purpose.

He seriously did have enough room. I think it's bogus that only women and children get to go on the rafts. There should be a coin flip between men and women.

Titanic is a great movie, but The Lion King gets my vote for the GOAT.

Citizen Kane is a great movie, but one of my all-time favorites is The Third Man (with a small role by Orson Wells)

Another great Wells movie is A Touch of Evil

Brazil = Best movie ever

Kate Winslet could have scooted her fat ****** over and let Leo on the drift wood at the end...just saying.

James Cameron makes movies with weak scripts into masterpieces. See Avatar. Avatar is basically the child of Pochantos and Fern Gulley. But the way he did the movie just made it amazing. I loved the production but the story wasnt there for me.

Does anyone remember the part in Titanic when this ship is sinking and they are laying on the rail on the stern of the ship. A guy falls and hits the prop, then helicopters into the sea. HILARIOUS! When I saw the movie in theaters, I heard a low chuckle out of most of the men in the theater.

Here's a bit of cinematic trivia for you.

Did you know that Leonardo Dicaprio was Originally cast to play Patrick Bateman in the movie American Psycho, while Christian Bale was Originally cast in the leading role of Titanic?

It took two Scorsese movies to get me to actually like Leonardo Dicaprio.

His new one, Shutter Island, looks good. Scorsese directs.

Did you know that in the original Terminator OJ Simpson was supposed to be the Terminator and Arnold Schwarzenegger was supposed to be the hero or whatever? Yea it turns out James Cameron thought OJ was too nice to be portrayed as a cold blooded killer. HAHAHAHA true story. Pretty ironic.

You disliked him or were you indifferent?

For a while, every movie that I saw him in, ended with him dying.

SPOILERS:
Titanic
Blood Diamond (great movie; my personal fave of his)
Romeo and Juliet
The Departed

I finally saw What's Eating Gilbert Grape, but that one was really sad too. :(

After sitting through Romeo+Juliet and The Basketball Diaries, I decided that I didn't like him.
