Folks trust me, I have seen this before! Things will look up. At some point you need someone/somebody to come in a give your team a spark! Not just the team but the fans....we beyond anything else provide "Esprit De Corps" for this organization!

I swear to God when Troy Smith entered that last game I turned into a MAD MAN....like this was the Maize and Blue vs. the Scarlet and Gray...and Troy Smith was going to do it again. I yelled at the top of my lungs everytime he hit Mason for 15 yards and almost shiznit myself when he got it down to the 6 yard line (yes you heard me right.....the 6 yard line)!!!!

It was good to feel that way on a Sunday and not just a Saturday; to have someone that I know with that kind of reckless abandon that Troy Smith brings to the playing field! When I saw Joey Porter freak out because Troy Smith eluded him in the End Zone, it reminded me of all of those "you got to be kidding me" Houdini acts that he pulled off in college!!!

Cheer up fans and pull together for a time when your team and other fans need you most! I can guarantee I will be acting like a mad man this Sunday!!!!!!

Thanks for the Pep Talk -- We got a major STEAL by getting Troy Smith in the 5th round -- some Cleveland fans wanted him and not Brady Quinn. Let's see more of Troy and see what he can do to turn this team around, now and in the future!!!

I have been a big fan or Troy Smith! I drove to Ohio St. with a bunch of friends when they played Michigan last year and this guy has rediculous talent. I was furious when a heisman trophy winner got shafted in the draft because he was an inch too short to be considered good. I was shocked he didn't go in the first 2 rounds, but their loss is our gain. right? You can keep Quinn we got Smith! He is like if Drew Brees (last season) was very mobile. He is like Vince Young, but prolly smarter and he doens't need to rely soley on his feet because he is quite a gun slinger. I've seen him throw the ball 55 yards down the field between two defenders and hit his reciever right on his hands. Amaising!

I want to start Troy, but I worried about him getting hurt because our Offensive live can't stop anything. McNair got hurt, Kyle got a hurt a few times playing behind them and now left the game with a concussion. But if the line suck it is always better to have a more mobile QB who can buy time while recievers get open. We could do more role out plays maybe and give the ball to McGahee 30 times. Or just have the Offensive line show up and practice and study game film. How does Yanda forget to block Jason Taylor. Double cover this guy and knock him on his butt.

If you didn't get a chance to watch Troy Smith in college and you are unsure of his talents, then check out this lil vidoe clip on YouTube

i totally agree with you on that.....and with the added Game time experience he is recieving/will get in the upcoming 2 weeks left of the season....can only benefit Troy in the Long Run and further his overall skills/sharpen them to the point of Performing at a Continually High Level week after week.....plus i also think that having his college number makes him feel at LEAST a little bit more at ease...

honestly, i don't know enough about jamarcus russell to predict his future, but who else picked before troy smith is garunteed to have a better career?

brady quinn?.....he's the next eli manning, i was never big on this kid!

john beck?......did i really just mention him?

trent edwards?......looks OK but nothing stands out

kevin kolb? as an eagle fan i have my fingers crossed but it's not garunteed

troy is gifted! he is elusive, athletic, accurate, and is smart enough to make the right decisions which could also classify him as a natural born leader. baltimore pulled off a heist stealing this man-child in the 5th round. i see better things on the horizon and troy smith is navigating the ship!!!

troy will be the leader of this team if not traded

on a defense note

ngata: showed his power and strength this season def improved

Gregg: needs a bit more speed and strength but has what it takes to be a great dt

just because a certain player is drafted before another player in the "draft"..doesnt mean a darn thing....because that one player whom was chosen 2nd or so may Very well become the better all-around athlete...but as i said before....only time will tell

Gregg needs NOTHING! He's awesome! He's one of the best DT in the league and he gets mentioned by commentators, but he deserves much more respect. Gregg is always one of the top DT in nuimber of tackles (right now tied for 1st in the NFL), which is awesome considering how many our linebackers rack up. He was great last year with 62 tackles and 4 sacks (one was from chasing down Michael Vick). This year he already has 72 tackles and 3 sacks. He's the 3rd leading tackler on the Ravens with Ray in 1st and Bart in 2nd. 2nd leader in sacks behind Suggs. He's an un sung hero!

couldnt have said it better myself, Kelly Gregg is definatly an unsung hero and he needs to be recognized. Not going to the pro bowl??? I mean tied for first in tackles this season and no pro bowl invitation? Goes to show that the pro bowl balloting is a bit bogus. I mean for example, Tom Brady did not get selected to go last year over Tony Romo. What bs is that?

Troy is just unappreciated for his skills, now that he has the spot, seahawks better watch out

he will definately be looked over this gae and will blitz him just because hes new. But I think troy is a bit better under pressure,

As a diehard Ravens fan that supports the entire team regardless of the situation, the person at any position, play calling, etc. etc. I want to see Troy do great things. However, Lets not get our hopes up too high. For all he's done in college you have to admit it was against substandard talent. In the NFL where every player is good don't expect to see receivers running wide open, don't expect to see him out run pass rushers and defensive players. I watched that video and some of those db's made those receivers look like probowlers, I'll bet that half of those td's he threw in college would have been int's, or broken up in the NFL. I bet you couldn't find 2 of those receivers that Troy threw to playing in the league today at a high level. Look at all the hype that surrounded Reggie Bush and he hasn't lived up to it.

Having said all that, I hope Troy throws 6 td's and runs for another. I'm looking forward to watching this game, though I always look forward to watching the games, even within a 8 game losing streak.

I wonder what posses idiots to sit on a roof during a NFL losing streak? It's dumb enough when you do it for a baseball team, but at least they play 5 games a week.

Seahawks 90

ravens 10

And I am the eternal optimist.

Hasselback can throw and the Defense ain't too shabby and our secondary is swiss cheese at best, I just pray Troy does not get killed. This year is what it is and we are going to the Superbowl next year--mark it!!!!

No offense, but that is not true. Seattle's pass D is 22nd in the league. Our D is still top 5. We CAN score on the Seahawks. Plus, don't forget, this is the NFC we're talking about. "Good" in the NFC equates to mediocre in the AFC. I'm not saying WAC vs SEC, but there is a notable difference between the AFC teams and NFC teams

yea i agree...Our defense is still one of the Top Defense's in the League despite the losses...and keep in mind that we havent allowed a 100 yard rusher ALL season long...the closest anyone's gotten to breaking the century mark on us was Jamal Lewis a few games back...when he rushed for about 95 yards.....which is impressive but ut still wasnt enough to break the century mark....plus its not a matter of whether or not a defese and its players are defined/looked upon as being "good" like some people would like to think they are.....i think its more so, taken upon the shoulders of each and every player on the defensive side of the football...and each players on our defense that Believes within themeselves and have the necessary confidence in order to do so. and stop (for the most part) the SeaHawks Offensive attack.

same goes for our offense......if each and everyone of the players believe within themselves and work as a complete team and move as a unit and drive down the field...while making those crucial smart decisons in the process, we should have a pretty good shot at winning this game as well as the next game after it......

Bottom line is each players individual Efforts that will depct how the game is played/fought...and its the players ability to learn from their own mistakes and use them to their advantage that will end up making the most difference...

yes...the day has come...and in which i would expect Troy and this offense to take it in stride and Come out "gunz ablazing" and even if the going gets a little rougher than he or they would like....they maintain their overall composure and continue to work hard and continue to work towards the ultimate goal of Victory.
