Space Shuttle - Last Night Launch

4 posts in this topic

The last night launch ever is scheduled in less than an hour. Delayed yesterday, looks like it may happen this am. Look up!!!

To those who will never see it again, its amazing. Here in the Tampa area, clear across the State, it looks like a fireball flying to the heavens.

With no politics involved, it looks like the run back to the moon has been scraped so anyone awake within 100 miles may want to watch this launch.

I've seen a day launch from Orlando, definitely cool to watch. I once had a chance to see it from the Kennedy Space Center, but the weather was bad and they scrapped the launch that day.

It was awesome. Crystal clear sky so we watched it for a full minute or so until it vanished. You could even see the SRB's detach and fall away from the main fireball, even at our distance! Probably the nicest night launch we've seen. Too bad its the last one ever. :(
