...but people could lie about not having concussions.

should be weekly or b-weekly concussions test. I'm sure someone like brett favre has played with concussions and not said on word.

That's why it's important to educate the players and make them aware of how dangerous concussions are. Sadly, it's as simple as pointing to some of the retired greats in NFL history and how frail they've become because of their decision to play with concussions during a time when no one really knew how to treat them and no one told them to stop. The easiest thing to do is to make an emotional appeal to these players and show them how much their quality of life could be drastically reduced after football if they're not honest with themselves and their coaches about concussions.

didn't we have a nose tackle back in the day lineup in 4point stance here and there? i remember the announcers making a big deal about it?....was it ngata or gregg?

Yep. That's the one spot it doesn't cripple you because when you're a Ngata, you're stuffing that whole middle anyway, and everyone knows it.

Maybe the game-day roster needs to be larger - the more honest players and teams get about concussions the more people are going to have to take themselves out of games - and that might mean an increase to roster size going forward.

I'm cool with an increase from a 45-man gameday roster to a 50-man roster, and an overall increase from 53 active players to 58 or 60 players. The money is there in terms of the revenue (I mean, look at how the union and owners are fighting over it), it'll just take a compromise on both sides to make it happen.

Not only would it add another competitive element of strategy to the games (think of how many more packages the coaches can have in all three phases of the game), but more young players would have a shot at the big-time and more diamonds in the rough could be uncovered. It's good for the game and good for the players.

*sigh
my goodness
really?
w/out the 3 point stance, then there wont be enough explosion in the first step,
and the qbs will have a MUCH easier time throwing the ball with tons of time...
