67 posts in this topic

I'm a BIG fan of college basketball and wanted to start a thread that has to do with anything that has to do with college basketball. Talk about your favorite teams, players, and whatever else. Which conference do you think is the best? Who is the best player in the country? What do you think about the rankings? Who are your final four and national championship picks? ANy and all topics about college hoops can be discussed here!

I'll get the conversations going by saying I'm a big Georgetown Hoya fan as u can tell by my name. Most people on here are Terps fans but im interested to see what other teams are represented on these boards. Any Syracuse fans? I sure hope not.

......I guess we dont have too many College BBall fans here.......Louisville crushed UCONN tonight. The Huskies may not even make the tournament this season a year after making the final four.

Big Ohio State fan; they've had a very up and down year but still look to be tournament bound. Evan Turner is a great player to watch.

I watched the Louisville game and they spanked UConn big time. Texas looked pretty sharp in the 2nd half of their game as well.

Yea Evan Turner is so good. If he stays healthy throughout the rest of the year I think Ohio State will make some noise in the postseason.

I am based in Big Orange Country, near Knoxville, and the talk of the area has been how the Volunteers have been doing in spite of the adversity of the season, what with player suspensions and such.

However, the Volunteers have pulled their upset of Kansas earlier in the campaign, so there is some chance the Big Orange could make some noise in the Tournament.

I've also noticed that Cornell is just barely in the rankings, finishing 25th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Top 25 poll.

Considering that the Big Red has won the Ivy League title for the past two seasons now, could there be a possibility of an upset by them should they make the tournament?

Hey nice thread!!!! Ive been a Kentucky Wildcat fan my whole life and im happy with the team we got this year. Most uk fans will say John Wall is the best right now, but I would bet Demarcus Cousins will be twice as good in the nba. UK2K!!!!!!(first to 2000 wins)

I don't know about that. John Wall is straight filth. He's so exciting to watch. Him and Scottie Reynolds for Villanova are my two favorite players to watch in college bball besides the Hoyas players of course........But Cousins is outstanding as well too along with Patterson and Bledsoe. There's no reason why Kentucky shouldn't get back to the Final Four.

Wall is cold, but to me Cousins is pretty much Dwight Howard playing in College. Also the pg from S. Carolina is very good.

#5 Mich State was crushed by Wisconsin tonight 67-49. If Georgetown can beat South Florida tomorrow night and Villanova at home on Saturday, we should crack the top 5!

Oh, man, I had the feeling that Wisconsin would knock Michigan State for a loop.

If the Hoyas can beat both South Florida and 'Nova, then there can be some movement from G-Town. I suppose the new guys on the team have to learn of their rivalry with 'Nova. If son, there can be a chance for victory.

Well, Nova only beat us by 5 at their place so I think the Hoyas have a great shot to win at home. And im sure theyve been made aware of our history with Villanova and the '85 Championship game. After all it was JTIII's father who coached back then.

In one of Georgetown's more Recent National Championships, weren't all the starters Baltimore boys?
How recent are you talking? They went to the Final Four in 2007 but haven't been to a National Championship since 1985 and haven't won one since 84.

I have said it once but I'll say it again. John Wall is a beast. I would love for him to play for the Wizards.
Its unlikely that the Wizards will get the top pick though. Im interested to see where Greg Monroe will go if he enters the draft.

2 great Big Monday games tonight. #2 Villanova vs. #6 West Virginia and #1 Kansas vs. #10 Texas............Those rankings will probably change though because this weeks rankings are being released today.

Edit- New AP/Espn polls are out and Villanova is #4/5, WVU is #5/4...........Kansas is #1/1 and Texas is #14/14

It should be an interesting night in college basketball tonight. Syracuse faces UCONN in a rematch of last seasons 6OT thriller and Duke travels to UNC to face the Tar Heels to add another chapter in college basketballs biggest rivalry.

From what I've seen on the highlights, the 'Cuse got a few late shots to get their win over UCONN, and Carolina fell flat on their faces last night against Duke.

This is just building up for later in the season, I believe. Maybe if we're lucky, this will carry over into the conference tournaments.
