My Football Experience In Philly Today

Maybe not the perfect topic for this section, but off topic isn't read as much and thought you guys would get a kick out of this.

Traveled to Philly today for a 7 on 7 flag football game. Was invited by a buddy of mine from the eagles board.

Two guys volunteered/requested to play QB, so naturally they were captians. I am the only one not wearing green, actually even wearing my long sleeve black ravens t-shirt and guess what.....I'm picked first. May have to do with the fact that I was tossing the ball around with the QB that chose me, I'm 6 foot 3 and about 200 lbs and like to think I catch anything thrown in my direction

Either way, 11 other dudes not chosen wearing green and I am!!! Love it!!

Ended the day with 3 picks and 3 TD's (overall had about 12 or so receptions)....did drop two that should have been TD's though

It was a good group of guys and I mentioned maybe a ravens/eagles game in Delaware somewhere in a few months. What you guys think about that?

Oh yeah, 4 plays in some dude went down with a tweaked knee and we had to call an ambulance...ouch!

Edit: When you say tweaked, did you mean like major injury, or just limping? Cause that's embarrassing if he was taken just for limping, lol

I said this may not exactly be a ravens topic, but I guess you missed that part.

The main reason I mentioned it was to see the interest level on playing in the next few months against these guys.

They were a good group....

To us it looked like a "tweak" and not really serious, but he asked for an ambulance

Ehh, you have great height, and are a little underweight. You seem to have a nose for the endzone, but two dropped TDs makes me doubt your consistency.

With a little work at training, I could see you commanding double coverage.

Pretty accurate critique, could use 10-15 pounds....I was very dissapointed with the two drops, either way we won 9-6!

Anyone in for a March/April game in Delaware against some eagles fans?

Which is why the thread has been moved. People who want to see all of the threads click on "View New Content" when they come here. Those that don't want anything but Ravens discussion come right to the Ravens Talk forum. If someone cares about non-Ravens posts, they'll see your thread.

When I play pick-up games with people I'm usually picked last...and I'm 6"1 240 lbs!I play with my old high school football team when they get games together in the spring and I completely dominate them.I hope to try out for some semi-pro football team in the future.

Eagles fans here in Delaware make me smile.

Mainly because they're so arrogant during the regular season even in defeat but suddenly get quiet once they're eliminated from the postseason, yet there's still a vocal minority that will talk trash anyway.

I can't play worth crap. I'd readily admit to it. This is the same guy who tried to show off by trying to catch a football with two in my arms and got hit in the face instead.

I was first team all- state John, I can make it rain out here if you want! lol(wedding crashers anyone....anyone....lol)

I'd play in a heartbeat dude, but im in Canada. Literally if I was within 2 hours driving I'd play in the snow in my Ray Lewis jersey and lay Philly fans out. Me, my brother and some of my boys played on Christmas day, it was -25 degrees outside and there was a foot of snow (no exaggeration, we snow blowed half the field and then the snow blower ran out of gas so we shoveled in increments of 10 yards after that lol). I have a picture of me and my brother after the game, but its on facebook and it says I cant load the picture onto here for some reason. Anyone know how to get that picture here.

Hey, that's not horrible at all. I was 5'11", 230 and all-state as a fullback/linebacker... ok, it was in Delaware, but still, it's better than Alaska All-State!

At 6'0", 235lbs, I was a pretty good OL/DL in the flag football league I was in. Unfortunately, I thought I just tweaked my knee at the beginning of the second season. Turns out I tore the meniscus. I tried to let it rest and play a few weeks later, but I aggravated the injury halfway through a game and that was it for me. Now my knee likes to give out from time to time if I put my weight on it wrong.
