lol well i have a pretty good record but i only play like once a week on the weekends now cuz of work and im gearing up to go back to school here. That and im back on the ESPN 2k5 train again lol. Personal opinion but I dont see a point to playing a guy like that, if he is the best in the entire world theres no way he plays madden in an actual simulation version of football, there are very few people that do, and the Madden engine doesnt force people to play it right. On that note, you should play him and crush him lol. Just watch out for nano blitzs, i got a feeling hes got some of those up his sleeve.

For the record hhlowlow, if you are that good with a user controlled player on defense, and reading coverages then more power to you...just my experience has lent me to guys with good records and winning %s usually have 4 offensive plays that are automatic yardage even if your in the correct defense, and a couple nano blitzs that are unblockable even if you slide protection and leave 2 HBs in to block.

So, now I've gone 7-5 after losing this one 21-6. To his credit, he didn't run in for the TD after picking me off on a stupid throw or after I gave him a clear lane for the run.

That said...worst game I think I've ever played. My playcalling was horrible b/c I got away from throwing the ball for the sake of balance (when I had success through the air), and I didn't go aggressive and punch it in on 4th & goal when I should've at least TWICE. Granted, it was the first half and I always take the points, but I should've gone with my gut feeling.

I played OK defensively for three quarters, just well enough to keep the game close until I made stupid, stupid calls.

And, of course, the one pick I'm most pissed about is one where I called a play I wasn't familiar with and threw the wrong route into triple-coverage. Those that played me on here (J-Man, H8R, RavenRage92, etc.) know that I don't make stupid throws like that.

Ugh. Worst loss I've ever taken.

It was a lot closer than 21-6, though. I'm up for a rematch after I watch War of the Worlds 2. You completely shut down my running game, something that doesn't happen often.

That was the complete opposite of the last L I took, where I shut down the pass but couldn't shut down the run.

I'm just so frustrated that my defense isn't what it was, I'm not blitzing the way I used to (I used to be amazing at plugging the gaps and forcing quick throws), and my offense has no identity anymore. I'm like the real-life Ravens.

I can point to about 5 game-changing mistakes, and had I not made those mistakes, we would've just been trading field goals or would've taken it to OT. Ughhhhhhh....

Oh well, off to drink.

For the record, though, not the BEST Madden player I've ever faced. Definitely good, as the (currently) 13-1 record and that last game played indicates. But not the absolute best.

The best I've ever played was actually in Madden 09; this guy pretty much demolished me with the Browns. I'm talking, I had no chance from the first possession on. I was lucky to even score when I did, but I lost by a ridiculous margin.

Until you completely demolish me for four quarters, I can't bow down. (Yes, that was a small challenge)

For the record, it was three picks, one almost taken back to the house on an ill-advised rushed WR screen pass. However, I got in the redzone four times, played conservative twice early in the game and kicked field goals instead of punching it in on 4th & goal at the 1-yard line. My defense also shut down the running game and had three near-picks off the top of my head and one nice pick early in the game.

I wouldn't call it domination if it was still 14-6 headed into the 4th quarter, with your second TD coming late in the 3rd quarter. I'd call it a beatdown, no doubt, but not domination.

Of course, this is also a good example of why I need to play Madden online more. Apparently, I only dominate when I also have the psychological edge.

It's like, the dude sitting next to me will get all hype and start doing TD dances, but I'll just sit there and methodically march up the field without saying a word. I'll score and be as silent as a stone-cold killer. Then, as the game wears on, I'll start calling out sacks and interceptions and dude will just get more and more frustrated.

It doesn't work the same online, unfortunately, even with a headset. Ugh.

Yeah, pretty much. No nano-blitzing from what I could tell, no using the same pass plays every time, etc.

I was satisfied, in that regard. Straight-up beat me, though the game was closer than the score would indicate. It was a combination of him being good and me playing like crap.
