Gerrard over Flacco IS sad. He's won 3 playoff games in 2 years and his stats are better in every category. Here is the link in case anyone is curious.

Yet another reason that the pre Superbowl Probowl is stupid. There are now alot of players going to the pro bowl that do not deserve to call themselves pro bowlers. Yeremiah Bell for example has been poor. Garrard is not a pro bowl quarterback. I mean I'm pleased for V. Jackson and London Fletcher, who deserved to go, but it just continues to dilute the honour of going to the pro bowl.

People fail to realize that the Pro Bowl is just a popularity contest. I hate to say it but the fans vote shouldn't count. The Players and Coaches should hold the highest value for such an event. I mean come on Ed Reed/Polamalu made the pro bowl? By playing like 6 games combined?

Garrard Stats
Yards: 3,597
TD: 15
INT: 10
Record: 7-9

Flacco Stats:
Yards: 3,613
TD: 21
INT: 12
Record 9-7(1-1 Playoffs)

Vince Young(Started 10 Games)
Yards: 1879
TD: 10
INT: 7
Record as Starter: 8-2

Ben Roethlisberger
Yards: 4,328
TD: 26
INT: 12
Record as Starter: 9-6

Just be thankful the NFL doesn't do it like the NBA. That system is a travesty.

Don't get me started on the NBA's All-Star game voting. I loved how Tracy McGrady was leading forwards in the West before he had even played a game this season.

I love how half of the guys listed are career backups. The Pro Bowl was a joke in the past, right now it's just sad and pathetic.

Yeah the Pro Bowl is a big joke, and a waste of time... all these guys "play" for is the winner's check anyway.

Actually alot of people realize that it's a joke. Everyone else doesn't even watch it.

Of course the fan vote shouldn't count. It should be for grins and giggles like the People's Choice Awards. I suppose the league would be afraid that half dozen people who do care about the Pro-bowl would feel left out if they couldn't vote and there might be even fewer vewiers.

For the record: Ed only missed 4 games. Polamalu played one more than that.

I think it's more about the hits on their website with the Probowl ballot. Most fans may not care about the pro bowl but they still wanna see their guys become pro bowlers. I couldn't tell you how many hits it gets but I'd imagine it's ALOT. And if fan votes don't count fans won't vote, and they don't get those hits, and they don't get that money.

All star game might be the one thing MLB have it going right these days.. I wish it was as competitive in NFL. Every year I flick the Probowl on and every year I flick it off after less and less time

Young is in, and Ben almost in, because it's a popularity contest. I have no idea why Garrard is, but I think Flacco is already injured so he might have been able to go away.

Apparently, Tony Romo is now replacing Brett Favre and Mike Jenkins is replacing Antoine Winfield. Both of the Vikes aren't playing due to leg injuries (foot for Winfield and ankle for Favre)

Ben was in, but he said that [s]Miami isn't as fun as Hawaii[/s] his shoulder isn't 100% yet.

Garrard is an enigma. If not Ravens fans, I thought Denver fans or Jets fans would have had a few votes for their qb. I kind of hope that Flacco declined because of his hip. It's just pathetic to not be as respected as Garrard.

I'm happy for Fletcher. Garrard over Flacco is sad.
Me too, but it's still kind of sad that he wasn't voted as a starter from the get-go.
