Is Jealousy Eating At You?

84 posts in this topic

jealousy isn't the word i would use. more like PISSED! so....the Ravens only scored what? 3 points against the Colts and the Jets were able to at least put up 17 against them in the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP. wow!

and then...to rub extra salt in the wound.....the Ravens release Stover....he signs with the Colts and now....he (Stover) is going to the Super Bowl and we are sitting on the couch watching him play! Karma is a Mutha!

if anything....Ozzie and the Ravens Head office cats, coach Harbaugh and his coaches and the entire Ravens roster should be extremely PISSED over that debacle in Indy cause God knows that i am! ;-( ;-( ;-( ;-(

Uhm...they still scored 20 on us.

That didn't even make sense.

Updated numbers for Manning vs. Rex Ryan's defenses (including the loss I forgot about, and today's playoff game):

- Manning is 5-1, including the playoffs; the lone loss came in a game in which he barely played
- Outscored Rex's defenses 173-68 all-time
- 108-for-171 (63.1%) for 1513 yards, 12 TDs, 2 INTs

My personal (stupid) beef with Rex Ryan's mouth is over for now. I got my redemption. At least until Rex starts talking trash again.

My beef with Mark Sanchez continues.

My point was geared towards Cams, sweet drive at the end of half that gave Manning the ball back at the Colts 35 or 40. If you take away that drive that is chalked up to pure stupidity, the Colts score 13 against us. Its all hypothetical but that is also why I said IMO.

peyton threw in a nice jab at rex by saying we just kept our mouths shut and went to work
love it!

Cracked me up. At least I didn't have a mouth full of soda when he said that (like my sister did).

If I ever somehow get famous, I will start a stupid celebrity beef with him in the media.

ESPN will report more on that than the games themselves. As usual.

Glad to see the Jets knocked off. Rex's "bravado" (aKa loud mouthed arrogance) got old very quick, I don't think I could take more of it if his team had beaten the Colts (and I'm sure his comments would be even more repulsive to me). Personally, I'd much, much rather have a humble coach, that kept his mouth shut to the presses, and fired up and inspired his team in the locker room, personally, then by telling the media "Hay guyz, we're awesome, and we should TOTALLY be the team to bet on winning the Super Bowl! Wat? No, it doesn't matter that we're only in 'cause the Colts laid down." Not to mention saying a phrase similar to that after crying that his team was eliminated from the Playoffs when they weren't. Play the game, win the game. Go to the media when you're holding the Lombardi.

I'm with you Franny, I absolutely hate Sanchez. He doesn't impress me at all. He's not better than Joe, in my opinion, and I still don't see what the big deal was with him at the beginning of the season. Oh yeah, some big plays... okay, great. Let's not forget he threw nearly twice the amount of interceptions in regards to his touchdowns. Flacco's rookie season was better in nearly every statistic.

Flacco: 257/428, 60.1%, 2,971 Yards, 6.9 Average, 14 TDs, 12 INTs, 32 Sacks, 80.3 Rating, 2 Rushing TDs
Sanchez: 196/365, 53.8%, 2,444 Yards, 6.7 Average, 12 TDs, 20 INTs, 26 Sacks, 63.0 Rating, 0 Rushing TDs

So, please tell me, what is so impressive about Sanchez? It's not something that his statistics don't reflect, because I've watched the games that have been televised here, and I wasn't impressive by anything really. "Sanchize", silly, stupid nickname. I'm glad Flacco just focused on playing the game, and getting through week by week, then coming up with stupid nicknames for himself.

We are at home while the Jets get Indy. As much as i love Rex, Bart and Leonhard, i have been very Jealous that the Newyork Ravens get to go to the Championship while real Ravens are home watching the damn game on T.V. No matter what tho GO JETS JETS JETS JETS(thats how they do it right?) Freaking Jets, lets be honest they got no chance.
All of Rex's blitzes did nothing to prevent Manning from easily breaking 30 points on their D. Ravens D played Manning much better.

I saw Scott mosey off the field earlier, but I figured he'd come back in at some point. It's not that surprising really; he's no Ray Lewis.

Sanchez has passed for more touchdowns in this game than Flacco has in five. I'm not saying that Joe can't get better, but right now it's just not even close.
Jets have better pass catchers then the Ravens. Edwards may drop balls at times but hes almost always open. Who can you say that on the Ravens?

Maybe that poster meant to say 17 more points or something... I think that if we had scored 17 points, that would probably mean that we didn't turn the ball over 4 times. Seventeen points plus ball control might have equalled a win, but that is neither here nor there.

His post-season stats are the ones that impressed people, I think. That and his "poise."

The talking heads on ESPN also pointed out that he and Peyton Manning are one of few rookie qbs to throw over 20 ints and it worked out okay for the other guy.

Yeah wish we made a move for Braylon when we had the chance. But, hindsight is 20/20.
The Browns would never have worked with us.

For everyone who complained that the Jets didn't belong in the playoffs, here's something to stew on: the Colts never had to face a team that had won double digits in the playoffs. Of course, that didn't help them very much last year...

As much as I want the Jets to lose, there is a part of me that would love to see the Colts get beaten in the playoffs by the team that they rolled over for. No rings, no perfect season... Everything they did would be for naught.

I can take a small amount of pleasure in that.
Those were exactly my feelings yesterday. I wanted the Jets to lose, but figured if the Colts lost, it would serve them right for letting the Jets in in the first place. But then, Manning was Manning and won the game.

Sanchez made what... maybe one big play a game in the post-season? Okay, great. He had the run game to thank for those wins, honestly. If the Jets didn't have a run game, can anyone honestly say they'd still see the Jets winning those games?

True. Although Sanchez had a bad regular season, he has made a bigger impact in the playoffs than Flacco. Even if you combine Flaccos last year Post season run.

Yep...

Sanchez had a 60.3% completion (and the best rookie post-season completion % ever), averaged 7.9 yards per attempt threw 4tds and just 2 ints and had an impressive 92.7 rating.

As a rookie, Flacco had 44%, 5.8 ypa, 3 ints, and a rating of 50.8. His sophomore numbers are decidely worse, but that's irrelevant.

Sanchez never had to face the number one and number defenses in scoring, but those are still good numbers.

Next year the Jets will probably be a force to be reconned with. With capable targets beside him, a strong running game behind him, a good offensive line in front of him, and a great defense to clean up after him, Sanchez is probably going to excel next year.

That was close. I actually thought the Jets might win it, with the way they were playing in the first half.

And for all those who are saying Sanchez had a better playoff run than Flacco, I agree. But I don't blame Flacco one bit. Mark's receivers were making some tough catches for him. Sideline, deep, they did everything.

Almost got teary watching because I kept wondering if Flacco will ever get a capable receiving corp.
