Merged: T.O. to B-More Idea

75 posts in this topic

He's not fast, he's not tall, and he can't go up over people to get the ball in the air. So, what exactly is he going to do here?

I'd take Michael Vick over Terrell Owens at this point.

Oh, not to mention... Flacco looks to Ray Rice entirely too much. No doubt, Owens would get jealous.

If, for some god-awful reason T.O. does come to Baltimore, Marcus Smith should keep his #81 just to spite him and make him jealous.

T.O. as a Raven? I would much rather see the team find a younger receiver. The team as a whole has to transition gradually or we would be in that "blow it up and start over" mode. The process is well under way and we have some young players on both sides of the ball, and are still a team on the rise. T.O. would not be a logical choice as we move forward, and I just wouldn't want him anywhere near Joe Flacco sharing his "insights" on how he should throw him the ball all the time. No thank you,T.O., you had you're chance and blew it.

He's lost some speed but he can still beat DB's deep. And he's 6'3. He's probably lost some inches off hid vertical too but I'm sure he can still out-jump DBs.

Not that I really want him though.

But T.O. and Joe would make a really fantastic pair. Can you imagine the chemistry between them? (sic)

I would rather sign malcolm floyd and kevin walter i feel like that would be a sick duo. I feel like kevin walter is like a younger taller mason haha and floyd would stretch the field. and we could give Eeron Riley time to grow into a decent recivever. If mason goes i just want the ravens to revamp there wr core. No more Clayton and although Washington did good for us as a thrid down reciever . I dont think he deserves to be a number two guy.

hang on for a sec......so, you're whining about people whining, but our whining is to help clean the boards up and stop all the REPEAT threads that are pointless and in most cases make no sense - i.e. - trade Smith for Mashall, bring in TO etc...... :229031_rofl:

Trade Troy Smith for Peyton Manning and DWill for Fitz LMAO

NO TO!!! He is a cancer to every team that he plays on!!! He had his chance to come to Baltimore and be a Raven and demanded that he be traded to Philly - he can rot in Buffalo for all i care!!!

I dunno about T.O. coming here, but if a guy of his talents (which are superior to anyone currently on the roster, save for maybe Derrick Mason) wants to come to Baltimore and he'll take a reasonable salary of the veterans minimum or a little more, I don't see the risk. If he starts trouble we cut him, so why not?

I concur. The Pats took that approach with Moss when they traded for him and he was smart enough to realize he was on a good team and had a chance to win a SB.

T.O. knows his skills has diminished to the point where teams aren't willing to risk bringing him in. If the Ravens signed, I'm sure he would keep his mouth shut.

Terrell Owens is NOT Randy Moss. I have no issue with character, as I believe winning solves that easily. I just don't see what athletic or physical talents Owens has that can help the Ravens. They have receivers that are faster than Owens, and they have receivers that block better than Owens. Owens used to be great at catching a quick pass out in the flat, and breaking the first tackle... but I haven't seen that since he was an Eagle.

I know the Bills supporting cast isn't the best, but I'm not convinced that the only thing holding Flacco back is the receiver position. I think he misses the open guy a lot, and he doesn't recognize blitzes. A new receiver can't help these issues. I don't think he's clever enough to change plays and audible into anything but a run. The play-calling might suck, but I don't see Joe pulling a Peyton Manning or Brett Favre and changing it on his own.

So, all I see of Terrell Owens is another Derrick Mason to be honest. And I would prefer Derrick Mason stay and sign him to one final contract that he wanted before this season, than to sign Owens. Unless we're getting a Moss-type receiver(goes up and gets it over defenders), then the Ravens are probably better off signing Mason, promoting Kelley Washington, and cutting ties with Mark Clayton.

Well i don't think there will ever be a chance for TO to be here he was almost a Raven before but he chose to go to the Eagles ( i may be wrong on the team but the matter is a fact) he backed out of a deal or something of the nature. Bottom line he already parted ways with us a long time ago. bye TO

Have you ever given thought to the fact that there may be folks that don't have the time to read every topic that has been posted? What may be a repeat to you, may be new to many others.

I do agree with cleaning the pointless topics though, like this one.............. TO???

T.O. had his chance to come here to Baltimore and "HE" refused to do so.. Now if you take a look at the teams over the years that signed him, history shows that none of those teams have won a superbowl.. Lets even put his attitude aside for this topic, cause at the end of the day he still seemed to have put up remarkable numbers for those teams. Problem is this... It seems like with his talent alone that he brought to those teams should have produced atleast a ring or two and they didn't, so what makes fans here think that at this age/point of his life he would do so now? What we need is a team player, not a guy "STILL" looking for his own personal spot light... So as I quoted Jay Z on the home page I'll Sing It Again... You hit the nail on the head. Obviously the thread originator forgot the TO had a chance to play for the Ravens and REFUSED! Enough said.

I'm going to have a hard time reconciling this if it happens. I just don't like the guy, don't like his attitude. Obviously, I will cheer for my team, him included if need be, but it is going to take some getting used to

im with ya man in no way do i want him here but will support the ravens no matter what but wont waste my money on a t blow jersey thats for sure

Agreed. Ravens don't need a primadona in the locker room.
if that was the case, we could sign Jessica Simpson, at least we have something to look at, and we would sell a lot of jerseys, for sure, lol.

No chance he comes here, he could came in 04 and we woulda went to the ship but that dirtbag somehow got the NFLPA to let him out of the trade.

Is he actually coming to Canada lol?
Remeber, when he said he already played for America's Team (meaning the Cowboys) and now he is gonna play for All-North-America Team (meaning the Bills), so now the only other team available for him would be in CFL or NFL Europe, lol.

I know t.o is a free agent but if he knew he was being traded to the ravens and now that harbaughs there this could be a huge chance. i know for sure at least one player wants him in a bills jersey next year so i think troys stock just got a little higher

Donte Whitner may want his old Ohio State teammate in Buffalo, but that doesn't mean the Ravens would want T.O. -- again, why do people think an over-the-hill, 37-year-old receiver is the answer in Baltimore? Not even as a stopgap solution would it be sensible; why bring in a guy who didn't want to be in Baltimore to begin with? The man hasn't changed. At 37 years of age, it's unlikely that he's a different person that he was at 35 or 33. He may have been quiet last year, but that's because the Buffalo market isn't that big to begin with (no offense to the fine people in upstate New York, where I have family.)

Say NO to T.O.

There are times I truly wish Troy actually had the trade value people on this forum are convinced he has.

The Ravens could get anyone.

that´s an interesting point we all didn´t talk too much about. i got a lot of negative reps on another thread where i pointed that out!
i think you are right about it. how many times where receivers open and flacco just staid too long with his number one option. i mean we shouldn´t put him in a green jecket jet. maybe we see a little bit too much in him and maybe we do not. i guess the answer can only be given if we finally get some receivers for him. then we will see if he can produce or not. maybe our receivers aren´t the best group in the nfl, they aren´t for sure the worst. please don´t get me wrong, i like flacco but i just think we overhype him a little...i hope i am wrong on this point!!!!!!!!
