The Mitchell Report

The Mitchell Report is going to be released in a couple minutes. I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I'd still like to hear other people's thoughts on it.

Lots of Orioles and former Orioles named. That kind of cracks me up as, obviously, the performance enhancing part didn't seem to be working too well.

That new sig is hilarious, but I'm not sure it's very "nice".

I'm not too sure I want our rookie to take the beating Kyle's taken over the years. I'd just as soon wait until next year when, I'm sure, our o-line will be better.

I made it cause I'm really supporting Kyle Boller...which means some more tweaking is necessary. Stay tuned everybody.

anyone see that "nook" logan was on the list? that guy weighs 100 pounds soak and wet! guess he didn't do enough? i'm just tired of hearing about this stuff. it's been dominating the headlines for the better part of the last 5 years now. even with this list, the players won't stop taking something that they think will give them an edge

I am a huge baseball fan (die-hard Indians fan) and have been a big baseball fan for a long time. My personal thoughts are this:

Seeing these names doesn't surprise me one bit. Baseball's drug testing policy in the past has been an absolute joke and quite frankly, I don't blame any of these players to try and get an edge on others. If you know the policy is a joke and you know you're not going to be tested for anything then why not? Baseball owners are also just to blame IMO because they as well as higher-ups within MLB turned a black eye on the game. I don't believe for one second they didn't know and after the MLB strike, fans were not coming to games and owners needed anything they could to get people to come back. The '98 HR chase helped that but how could they let it out that players were cheating? No way possible.

With regards to Bonds, I don't like the man. It has nothing to do with the drug testing scandal or anything else.. I just don't like him. He's not a personable guy and he's always been a general a**.. even way back in his Pittsburgh days. With that being said, I don't blame him one bit for taking steroids with the knowledge that the odds were in his favor he would never be caught. With Bonds, I believe MLB is the one that is the most at fault because they knowingly did nothing to stop players from cheating.

As far the Mitchell Report, a waste of $60 million and only done to please Congress.. which should of kept their noses out of it in the first place. The Mitchell Report basically says:

"These people did it we think and we don't think you should punish them for it but make a better drug testing policy in the future."

It says that because all of the evidence is so weak and circumstancial that it'd be IMPOSSIBLE to prove anyone did anything. So why even make this report? Well, because Congress felt like it was needed for some reason. MLB should of had the guts to take a stand a long time ago and didn't.. because of that, Congress has to stick their heads into it and it's pretty sad when that is necessary.

Ultimately, I will continue to watch baseball games because I love it too much. Unfortunately as I mentioned above, this report doesn't really shock me at all but it was a huge waste.
