You get the point. Delaware doesn't stand out as a prestigious football school.
I know I know. I just hear alot of Football guys on TV who are "experts" talking about how Flacco is from a Division II school ect..ect..

sorry. I do get your point though.

Lets not forget the FIVE drops the team had today! All were in BIG situations. Mase has even dropped his share of HUGE passes this season. Joe would have been25/35 for about 240 yards. It really pissed me off that Mason didnt even TRY to bat that ball down that was intercepted at the one yard line.
How about the one to Mcclain that would have been a sure TD?

He HAD a full chance. If he didn't get sick, who's to say that he was even going to win the starting job? He was in a neck and neck race with BOLLER and really, they BOTH looked terrible. Troy couldn't CLEARLY beat KYLE BOLLER for the job, so what makes you think that he could beat Joe for the job?
I never said I think he could beat out Flacco for the job.

Has Troy Smith ever had a full 16 games to show what he can do?

I'm a Flacco supporter all the way, but I think given the chance elsewhere, I think Smith will be a good QB given the chance to start.

here we go again another stupid smith vs flacco topic
Same old story isn't it? I'm sure EVERY team has idiot fans who call for the Franchise QB's head after the season is over because they honestly don't know enough about football to know exactly who is to blame.

So the Ravens are supposed to let Troy Smith start for an entire season, knowing that Joe is BY FAR a better QB than him just to be fair? give me a break

This is getting embarrassing. Troy has only played in two meaningful games in his NFL career and failed to come up with a win in either of those situations. He was inaccurate and other than some nifty mobility in the pocket, he wasn't the McNabb-like scrambler people seem to think he is.

Flacco on the other hand, has led his team to the play-offs in the first two years of his career. Yes, he has struggled but I challenge anyone to find me a second-year QB who had all the mental skills and experience to win multiple play-offs games and a Super Bowl.

Joe is fine and will likely continue to develop the way so many good QBs before him have. Troy isn't on his level and never will be. He doesn't deserve an opportunity as many people seem to think he does and even if/when he does get an opportunity, he will prove he isn't starting material in the NFL.

I wish these topics would stop but sadly they won't. I pray Troy Smith is traded on Monday so people can shut up about him.

We are not on the same page are we?

I said Flacco is our QB, and will continue to be through the ups and downs. Flacco has shown he is the better QB.

All I'm saying is Smith will not get a chance to show what he has here, because we have a franchise QB named Flacco.

I want to see Smith get a full chance on another team to show what he has, but it wont be here because we already have a QB.

I'm not advocating for Smith to start here whatsoever.

No doubt. Sad, isnt it. Everything that could go wrong, did! I say this is going to be like 06. We lost to the Colts in the playoffs and they were the eventual SB champs.

Are you going to follow him to the new team and pull for him after he is riding the BENCH? Then, will this all make sense for the Troy Smith lovetrain?

Does anyone understand what I'm saying?

All I want to see is Troy Smith succeed as a starter, is this allowed?

If he goes to another team and rides the bench, oh well life goes on.

Well I aplogize then, I misunderstood. More often than not when the words Troy Smith are spoken, it's by someone making outlandish claims as to why he should be the RAVENS starting QB.

Sure, it's allowed but just know he does not really have a lot to work in his favor.

does any1 else really wanna see what troy smith can do. u cant judge the guy now, especially when he barely plays. i wanna see him battle it out with joe flacco in training camp for many reasons.. i seriously think troy smith is more versatile quarterback than flacco, he has good awareness, strong arm. and he moves around alot. and i think he deserves a chance. i been saying for awhile now, i just dont see flacco being a future quarterback for our team. i cant im sorry.. i understand the whole thing with the recievers, but how many games have i been to where i have seen so many people wide open and he throws it into coverage. whats with the dump off passes to rice when theres 2 guys on him. get rid of it.. theres alot of stuff, and im sure alot of you can have ur says on this. and who wants to see what, and who to bring in. i understand all that. but does any1 else really wanna see troy smith to actually get the shot he deserves..
Well I don't...even if Troy wanted to stay. Flacco is the immediate future of this franchise. He will learn how to lead and inspire this team. The hug and pat he gave to Ray Rice at the end of the game foretells the future. No offense man, but Flacco's our guy

I'm a big Ohio State fan, and I have been one for a while (my alma mater)

Each year I try to go to 2 or 3 home games.

After watching these kids for a few years, you really want to see them succeed at the next level. Some will make it and some wont, but its something you have to deal with.

When I say I want to see Troy Smith get a chance and succeed as a starter, its coming from me watching him at Ohio State and being a big fan of Ohio State for a long time. I wish all Buckeyes well in the NFL.

Its not me thinking he will be better than Flacco at all.

Now do you all get what I'm saying?

I got it from the get go, you had some sort of emotional ties to what Troy did in College.

I see what you are saying, but I sit in the endzone and watching Troy Smith, he has to drop back so far to see the field and if his first read is not open he takes off that he is not a good option to start here. If he got his start last year, I think Flacco would have been starting in November.

Because I attended Ohio State.

My Dad went to Ohio, and a lot of my family went to Ohio State.

I guess its a family thing. :)

Really hope all the Troy Smith fans leave the boards when he leaves the team this offseason.
Same. It's so annoying that after every bad game Flacco has, we have to have a foolish discussion about a back-up QB who's proven nothing in the NFL.
