He's publicly protecting his players; I have no problems with that. Tony Dungy did that all the time, as has Bill Belichick and other coaches.

I'd rather have him do all the talking in the locker room and behind closed doors than air out grievances in public.

If you really think about it, how many good coaches have you seen get pissed in press conferences?

It's usually the bad ones that fly off the handle.

As a player that's not what you want to hear. The ravens know they sucked, i'd lose alot of respect for a coach who would call out his team in the public for poor play.

Exactly. The players will have to keep swallowing this pill all offseason; they'll hear about it enough from their coaches behind closed doors and from the talking heads in the media. They don't need their coach giving the media more ammunition and negativity to feed off of.

Off Topic. Could Jim Caldwell inherit a better team. Him and Tomlin.

How many coaches get that lucky? Most coaches get the jobs like KC, Buffalo, Cleveland and have to be in the rebuilding process.

What's even more disturbing is that both Tomlin & Caldwell inherit teams, but are deemed incredible coaches.

Yeah, you are on to something here. Harbaugh was hired by the Ravens with the thought that this was going to be a bad team. If the Ravens had known Flacco was going to develop into the quarterback he has become, they probably would not have hired Harbaugh anyway. They would have hired someone with more experience had they known this would become a playoff calibre team.

It'll help the fans if he went out there and called somebody out, or bashed the teams performance, started to point fingers and what not. It'd make us feel a little better about losing but honestly it's not going to change anything and if you were coaching trust me you wouldn't call out your own players like that. He'll handle it behind closed doors, not in the media, and that's the way it should be handled. This isn't high school football. Can't yell at 35 year old guys with kids sitting at home.

Why not. I remember being in my 30s and getting yelled at by my boss. Didn't make that mistake again. That's what's wrong with people now, can't handle LOUD constuctive critisism. Anyway, the time to yell past a long time ago. What's the sense in yelling after that game, seasons over now.

Harbs did the right thing. He will say more on monday. After a loss like that you don't want your emotions to say anything your head knows may have a negitive result. Good move.

This guy is all about volunteering to go to Iraq to support our military. He's about providing a sense of pride and belief in something beyond just X's and O's. He's about building a franchise into a dynasty, and having character be a part of all he does.

That's what he's all about - along with plenty more.

i still think theres a better answer to give other than "I didnt see it" because of course you saw it you can just choose to not comment on it
[/quote]

He's said in the past that there are more things to see on the game film and sometimes plays look entirely different from the sideline when compared to film - this is true.

There's no real way to get around the fact that the film study does show a heckuva lot more than the sideline looks. The speed of the game and the limited view of the field from the sideline... it might seem easy to see from the TV camera angles, but anyone who's been on the sidelines for a game will tell you, the speed and view is entirely different and the truth is in the film analysis.

Yes, he does need to look at the film to put out an opinion on record - if he's going to share an opinion at all. The truth is in the film.

Harbs can't hold onto the ball or make quicker reads or avoid PI. He TEARS into the guys but not so the Media can see/hear it. He's smarter then that. Besides, this is a family. How many parents beat their kids on the front lawn?

That makes sense to me. Who wants to spout off to the media only to see it on film another way and then have to double back later? You loose respect with your players and you don't get that back easily. The same goes from their fans. There is something to be said for being slow to speak.

Of all the things that went wrong yesterdat, who cares how Harbaugh handled his presser? A long, stressful, but also entertaining season came to an abrupt end as his team got beat by a superior opponent. He's led his team to the play-offs in his first two year whiles Mike Smith and Tony Sparano didn't. What do you want from the guy?

Apples and oranges. Harbaugh will handle this behind closed doors, the same way your boss handled it. No reason to involve the media and let that stuff get out there.

Belichick didn't handle it any differently last week when we put a whoopin on them. He didn't bash his team, he just said that we outcoached and outplayed them and gave us credit. Harbaugh basically said the same thing about the Colts.

Not that I'm a man, cause I'm not, but even I know that you don't belittle men in front of others and expect them to respect you after it. That's in everything in life, not just football...

I'm not talking about bashing his team. I'm talking about the man who coaches my,,, I'm gonna rip off your head team, which is how i played football when i was a kid,,, is a little soft spoken for me, that's all. Still love the team.
