The Blame Game

80 posts in this topic

Well, I just think our offense had no answer to the colts D.

Our recievers can not get open or they take to long to get open and Joe just checks down to Ray.

Something isn't right with our O-Line but I can't figure it out for some reason.

Our Defense did great at the beginiing but tired before halftime.

But most of all I think we always beet ourselves with "stupid" penalties.

What are your thoughts?

i think joe's injury was more serious than we thought. he looked bad. other than that, our receivers are scary bad. soooo many drops and they just could not get separation at all against their corners. thats why flacco checked down so many times.

Ozzie Newsome, Cam Cameron.

Peyton Manning does his thing, but not anything a good offense cant counterattact. But as long as the offense is built the way it is, the Ravens will NEVER beat the Colts. Game after game this offense plays pitiful against a Colts D that isn't good enough to hold other NFL teams to freakin FIELD GOALS!

Offense 100%, 15 rushes 35 passes we played right into the Colts hands. Cam's play calling before half giving Manning the ball back to take a 17-3 lead was F'in ridiculous. We gave up 20 to Manning, and 1 touchdown wasnt the defenses fault. You have to be better on offense, you just have to.

You can say the ray lewis call was bs or the corey ivy call was bs or that reed fumble but at the end of the day when your offense only scores 3 points thats who you blame.

Our team lives and dies by Joe Flacco.

You can't really blame him for he is a 2nd year QB, but he is the QB of the Ravens and he is put up to high standards.

Terrible game from Flacco and the running game.

To beat a speedy defense, we need some firepower.

Next draft: we need a receiver and we should jump to get one or two.

Our defense is in good hands as the DC knows how to contain one of the greatest football QBs from being comfortable.

But we need some cornerbacks to help the secondary.

Also, we need to renew our defensive pass rush.

I hope Ozzie drafts the best for the team.

Play calling. Penalties (BTW: what the heck IS COREY IVY DOING BACK ON THIS TEAM?).
[/quote]
play calling sucked. willis ran great in oakland and new england. we didn't use him. our receivers are so bad. flacco stinks. i don't know where to start. how many times is ed reed gonna make a great play look like crap. i think cam has gotta go. try something different. if i were willis i would demand to be traded. very disappointing game. is flacco our future? someone has got to make some plays. terrible terrible terrible

We lost to the better team period no blame needed. They bottled up rice and we didnt have another option, I say we let gaither go he is not the future. For what we had playoffs was pretty good, but i would rather got a high draft pick than a week of glory

Even if Ed didnt cough the ball up, you know what would be the outcome after the offense took the field? The same as every other redzone drive against Indy, a fg or a turnover. I'd bet a million dollars on that.
The frustrating thing is Indy's D doesnt make anybody else look this bad

Man I gotta blame flacco game on offense begans and ends with the qb if he makes throws then rice has a better night runnin the ball our wr are not great but I know their not covered on every down he lacks the confidence to take the chance and thread the needle this the nfl a wr bein open has a different meaning.the jury is still out on flacco cuz we are blaming wr now but flacco shows me no command of the game seems to be lost out there

what? we didn't try another option. why not try troy smith, why not run willis??? doesn't help that our receivers dropped a lot of passes. we need more of an offense outside of rice. why is clayton still on the team? i will say some bad calls by the refs but by no means did that cost us the game. everybody played pretty bad. flacco has not looked good in the past few games. i don't get it. harbaugh has got to get pissed. how can he not be pissed about this game???

I was in denial about our receivers earlier in the year, but I admit, they are just not good enough. However, the blame is NOT solely on them. Penalties (big ones) and turnovers. That's how you lose games in the nfl. When Ed Reed fumbled on the interception, I knew right then and there that it just wasn't our day.

Yeah, and what makes it worse is that in 2 games vs Indy this season, we scored a combined 0 TDs.

Well to start the Colts are just flat out better.
Didn't really expect us to win and I praise the Defense for playing well in the first half.
The Ravens after the Chargers game did NOT beat a playoff caliber team. Too many mistakes and penalites and I personally think our play calling stinks!
But the glass is more than half full so here goes:
Defense: The front seven is fine and has some depth. Good at the Safeties but our CB play needs to improve DRAMATICALLY. I'm optimistic on Webb but we need another corner in the draft. Foxworth too me stunk up the field whenever I saw him play and Frank Walker does not even belong on the roster unless they need him to sweep out the lockerroom. lol
Offense: The O'Line had a bit of an up and down year. Oher looks like a good one but Gaither needs to stay healthy. We are strong and deep at running back.
Needs: I hate to say this but to me Heap is washed up. Could use a playmaker at TE. WR????? Oh brother where to start? Mason is a good vet possession type receiver but is NO WAY a #1. Washinton and Williams are passable as #3/#4 but it is clear to everyone on the planet that we need a #1 who can actually GET OPEN! Mark Clayton is a bust!!! Please get rid of him!
It is fixable but Ozzie has to pull some magic.

Stop blaming the receivers Flacco is starring down his receivers and the o-line is letting just about every man get pressure. I want you to look at the time Peyton has to throw the ball. If you give any QB that much time in the Nfl you are going to be in for a long day..)0 pressure from the d-line and terrible play calling before the half not to mention all the turnovers again like we have all season. We beat up on a already beat up New England team. But other than them and the banged up Chargers who did we really beat this season other than ourselves.Come on yall we have been watching this game play all season, no offense against good d, and mistake after mistake, penalty after penalty. I need one more year to evaluate Harbaugh but the way it looks right now wow. IF Holding a clipboard makes you a coach then im going to try it at my son's football game.

Instead of putting blame on anyone, how about we just say the Colts made plays on all phases and fully deserved their win tonight?

We were beat by the better team, period.

If Ed Reed doesn't fumble that ball, I think we take that game... that totally deflated the team and we were completely demoralized from that point forward.

i agree with everything except Fox hes a good corner just needs more time and perhaps a bigger frame we will work him this off season you;ll see. Sorry and Mason is definitely a 1 receiver but we can use a replacement lots of miles on those old tires.

I was demoralized the minute I figured out we needed our defense to score for us the same way we've needed them for the last decade

I don't see how he was lost out there. His receivers werent getting open, his left tackle was getting beat like a drum. It DOES NOT start and end with the quarterback. The game is won and lost at the line of scrimmage, end of story. Last week this team dominated the line of scrimmage, this week they GOT dominated. When that happens as you saw, it could be Tom Brady at QB and he would still have no chance

There is no blame game here. Indy proved they are an elite team that was well rested.

Our team has been crippled by injuries, specifically in the secondary, Flacco was ailing and the ball just wasn't bouncing our way tonight, literally. This just wasn't our game to win.

There was little we could've done better with the players we had suited up. The Colts came out refreshed and motivated.

There are so many reasons we failed this year!

First of all … the penalties… on both sides of the Ball! Most of them from DBs and OL!

Heap was only good the last weeks… he didn`t performed well until the last weeks of the season.

The only real WR we had was Mason!

We have a young OL with a veteran Center.

The DBs… well we missed our chance to get younger in time and now we must pay for it. I still think Webb and Foxworth can be good CBs … but maybe we must put someone else in the mix and let them fight for the right to be on the field.

I think todays game just showed us that we even didn`t belong in the playoffs at this time.

As much as I have loved the best consistent defense of the past 11 years, something has got to be done on the other side of the ball. The only year I thought we could do anything on offense was with McNair when Heap was still used, Mason wasnt on his last legs, Clayton was inspired and Billick was calling plays that were reminisce of him in Minnesota. Now the defensive playmakers are older, and on THEIR last legs and the offense is still as stagnant as it was when Jamal was our only weapon.

flacco has to read the blitz as a qb you have to know your protection schemes he drops back on 3rd down like its 1st...the has to be able to read the defense knowing what match-up to exploit he drops back and stares at one guy how does the blame not fall on flacco, he has to be able to audible out plays...look at peyton does that offense not began and end with him...he gets the ball out of his hands and he is reading the defense pre-snap flacco looks like a dear in the headlights...get your head out the clouds flacco maybe just another qb
