Best Seats At M&T Bank Stadium

16 posts in this topic

The wife and I went to 5 games last year and the seats were generally in the 100-level.

I've wondered about the view from the 200 level. It seems to me there is a more commanding view of the field vs a more intimate one from the 100 level

Anybody out there got first hand experience with different seating locations?

Opinions and flowery descriptions appreciated

I've sporadically sat at various seats in the 100s, spent most of my time since the stadium opened in 1998 in the low 500s, and now sit in the 200s.

The lower rows of the 100s have inadequate perspective to be able to watch plays open up, or track what yard-line the ball is. I sat in row 3 on the 20 YL and could not understand what was going on in the game. I wound up just watching the big video board (which I could have done from home). But sitting in row 30, there is weather protection and perspective is gained. If you sit in the 100s, I recommend no lower than row 20, between the 20's.

The lower rows of the 500s provide the best perspective, but are somewhat further back from the field for some people's liking. I recommend going no higher than row 8 - 10, between the 20s. These seats also provide the best value. Much higher, the field shrinks. Note, however, that the Stadium was built without escalators to the Upper Deck, meaning a long hike up ramps for the physically fit, or a long wait to board escalators for the physically challenged.

The 200s are the best seats in the house, but also the most expensive. Good perspective (not as good as the low 500s, though), while closer to the action. Many more conveniences, including plentiful restrooms, bars, snackbars, quality food including freshly made crabcakes, cushioned sofas, HDTVs. Also direct escalators.

Thanks...I believe the fresly made crabcakes was the deal maker!

Definitely the 200 level, but I've been all over the stadium and you can't really find a terrible seat in the house.

Since you seem to be as big a fan of quality crabcakes as I am, here's more crabcakes detail: Go to the club lounge between sections 233 and 230. On the outer ring of the club area, facing the southside tailgate lots, turn to the corner to see a grilling station, where the crabcakes are freshly made. They are every bit as good as those served at G&M, or Phillips' Premium crabcakes, and relatively reasonably priced ($15.00). You likely will find another grilling station or two elsewhere in the club section.)

One issue: there is so much lump backfin, and so little filler, that the crabcakes require two hands, or they will fall apart. Suggest eat your crabcake in the club lounge, or at your seats between possession changes when there is a TV timeout, when you aren't clapping and shouting and otherwise using your hands.

They bear absolutely no resemblance to the "crabcakes" that are sold (or at least used to be sold) on the first level, which you may confuse as being more akin to compressed sawdust with crab flavoring.

I have never cared for 100 level seats. The view is very similar to what you see on t.v.
I also feel end zone is horrible.
Personally, I would rather be higher between the goal lines than too low.
I think club level between the 20's is the best but just cannot justify spending that kind of dough for 4 seats.

I Love my 114's you can watch the plays develop but you lose down and distance depth and the sweetest thing in the world is when the Ravens score and it is 14 rows away! I have been offered clubs and suites and I decline for my seats, I send my dad.

I agree, and that's exactly what I told my wife ... so she just ignored me and bought the tickets instead.
