Man, I know. :\ That's why I had to go to their C-U-LaTour a year back. Hands down, one of, if not the best, concert I've ever been to. Al just seemed like he was having fun. They ended up playing for almost two hours with like 3 encores.

I ended up revising my list like... five times. But I figured, if I didn't cut the list to ten, I could probably fill up ten pages in one thread about my favorite bands and albums :\

Funny though... I just downloaded Operation: Mindcrime the other day. I've always heard how great it is, and how it sets the bar for concept albums. Needless to say, I haven't gotten around to listening to it yet >.>

I will admit, this is a tough question for me, as there are so many bands and albums to choose from. I will admit to being one for oldies radio, not to mention doing a stint in college radio some years ago.

My fave bands are primarily Wilco, Bob Seger & Silver Bullet Band, and the Reverend Horton Heat. I am open to suggestions from others here.

That album is epic. Make sure you read the lyrics too. The guitars (while outdated now) were awesome and the story is fantastic. They could have written it as a book and it'd be a best seller. I actually have the concert on DVD.

I actually used to throw that in the CD player on my way home from Camp Lejeune and I'd be listening to much of it while going through D.C. It kind of added to the experience for me.

OT: Testaments' album "The Ritual" reminds me of Baltimore. It came out in 1992 when I made my first trip to the Inner Harbor for one of the festivals.

Agreed. I've always said it's one of the most intense albums both lyrically and musically. If done correctly, would've made a great movie too. I saw them in Hershey on the Empire tour, and they did Mindcrime in its entirety. Freakin' awesome!

They opened for Metallica twice and I missed them both times. A). I wasn't that into them then and B). I was too busy partying in the parking lot. :34853_brickwall:

I also missed Metal Church the two times they opened for Metallica.....In fact, of the 7 times I've seen Metallica I've only seen the opening act ONCE and that was because it was the Summer Sanitarium Tour which was by all accounts a festival.

In no particular order:

1) Soundgarden
2) Rush (never would have guessed that from my name, huh?)
3) Queensryche
4) Iron Maiden
5) Judas Priest
6) Black Sabbath
7) Pink Floyd
8) Kiss
9) STP
10) Alice In Chains

Honorable mentions:
Yes
Ozzie
Dio
Led Zeppelin
Triumph
Styx
Type O Negative
Godsmack
AC/DC

Just your basic 80's metal head, with a bit of classic rock mixed in. ;)
Favorite albums will definitely take some thinking....

Edit: I love early Metallica and Megadeth, but lost interest after their first 4 or 5 albums.

On the list of bands to see before I die (I was fortunate enough to see all four original members of Black Sabbath at Ozzfest back in 2003).
I wanted to go to the Flick of the Switch concert (AC/DC)back in Jr. High School with my friends, but Mom said "No." <_<

Haha, I love Rush too. Needless to say, my interest in them was reignited after seeing I Love You, Man. Limelight was always one of my favorite songs, even before the movie. Great band. I can't say that I'm fond of AC/DC at all. All of their songs sound the same to me, same three, simple chords in their songs. Just doesn't appeal to me. Wait, I lied. I only like one AC/DC song "Shook Me All Night Long".

Soundgarden was another band I could never get into for some reason. I just couldn't stand Chris Cornell, so therefore I didn't like Audioslave at all either. Ugh, speaking of Audioslave, their cover of "Killing In The Name Of" they did at... Big Day Out I think, was absolutely horrid. Sure, the band played the music just fine (since they were from Rage), but Chris could not sing that song... at all. Not even a bit.

I'm a huge Geddy Lee fan, although when I used to play bass I couldn't handle many of their songs. lol

My first lone concert was Iron Maiden (Somewhere in Time Tour) at the Meadowlands in NJ. Just me and a buddy went.....there was a riot in the parking lot after the show. lol

As much as I HATE Eddy Vedders' politics, "10" was an awesome album. It brings back a lot of good summer memories for me.

AIC was always one of my faves too.

10 probably is my all-time fav CD. Isn't a bad song on it. Strange how I don't really like anything else they ever released. Yea, Eddie Cheddar is an *ss-hat.
