mock drafts are exactly that......meaning they are draft orders in which people TRY to predict whom each team will select in each of the rounds. they dont know for sure and therefore you'll see the Draft prospects change on the different draft boards and what not.

i did get home in time to see Troy Come in and play and he most definately showed Significant Signs of improvement....he was calm, he was ACCURATE, he was poised, he was Definately mobile (lol making those players let and right like he did) and had the leadership in him to Rally his teammates around him and get into endzone.....heck his VERY first pass attemt was a Deep Bomb to Figurs that was just BARELY incomplete, if Figurs would have ran just a tad bit faster...his first pass attempt would have been for a TD. If you remember back in Pre-seaon he was consistant and was not accurate and passes were under/over thrown, and when he came in last week....we saw absolutely NONE of that....just a poised, confident passer and MOBILE player that we saw of him in college...and he drove the Team down the field and scored a TD....thats how we can see his development. and how well he's progressed thus far.

Keep in mind that he was in those pre-season games...playing second string palyers and wasnt playing well....then fast forward to the last week... and see the type of player he was.....you can see the progress...its so obvious to see

That's all fine and dandy and seeing as though its probably the best this offense has done all season, I understand the excitement but again it was garbage time against backups. It means nothing. In the preseason, the guys he was playing against were actually playing hard because their jobs were at stake. They literally had to catch the coaches eye and play hard or they were going to be cut that week. The same cant be said about the Colts backups at this point in the season. He was also playing with a lot of backups on our team during the preseason, who are probably on our's or someone else's practice squad right now. I would hope that any player that was scouted could do well with a first string offense playing against backups, who dont care. All I am saying is your jumping the gun and in my opinion we shouldnt take to much from it.

neepo...you talk of consistency as if we've seen it throughout the year. Troy isn't anything you say, at least in comparison to anything else we have. I'd like to see you say Boller is consistent, because that's what you (and the rest of us) should be comparing Troy Smith to.

I don't see much to worry about in Miami, if Boller cant get it done, stick Smith in. If Smith cant get it done, it shows us he's not ready. I don't see the pass being very effective in this game anyway, as McGahee is gonna run all over Miami. This is pretty much a feel out game as to who should start for us next year, since this year our starter will no doubt be Boller for the rest of the games (of which, I have no problem with).

If Miami is able to pass on us, it also gives a big red flag as to what we should and definitely will be drafting in the first round; a CB.

Boller is a great example. I am so glad you bought him up. Boller never succeed because people did to him what they are doing to Troy Smith right now. Calling him the future of this team and putting the weight of the world on his shoulders. Only to get angry when he cant meet the sky high expectations, right away. My point is that as Ravens fans we should know better then to put all our chips in one bag because Boller was probably the biggest disappointment in Ravens history. DO NOT PUT THAT SAME KIND OF PRESSURE ON TROY SMITH. Because if you do just like Boller, he wont have a chance in hell. Let him earn all the titles and rave reviews he is getting from some Ravens fans. And to earn it he has to do something notable when it matters against NFL starters. Not garbage time players.

word...so i have this to ask the people of Baltimore........Why in the hell are you critisizing a player that is a ROOKIE and one to which is still learning and is showing GREAT progress????? we dont want players to think that when they come here..they'll be bombarded by insults and non-stop scrutiny.....i mean really we're supposed to be a team here, and in saying Team i mean a Unified fan base.

I never once insulted Troy Smith. As far as I am concerned the worst thing I said was that his playing time means nothing. I would gladly not talk about him at all if so many people were not pumping him like he's a rookie of the year candidate.

lemme clarify this a bit more....not referring towards you in "insulting Troy" but most of the other fans have been in some way or another...even though its his ROOKIE season.

i understand where every one is comeing from. but yall have to remember. in pre season troy look bad... i mean. bad. so when we saw what he learn in that one drive we all got happy. maybe it be against 2nd stringers. he played against 2nd and third stringers in pre season and didnt look to good. so he has got better. to see how much better we have to wait till he plays a whole period.

hey man, I'm not looking to Troy to be spectacular right now, I expect him to be different to watch, and possible better than Boller. I just need a change, and so does the team. I cant think, every time a pass is thrown, that it'll most likely be incomplete or intercepted. Thats the way I think when either Boller or Mcnair was in. Now that our season is over, I need a sliver of hope, even if it is against a second string defense.

Billick said consistency will win us the remaining football games, that may be true to who he is starting but when he is starting someone that is himself inconsistent, I don't have a good feeling.

He was playing against second and third stringers with second and third stringers in the preseason. This time he was playing second and third stringers with first stringers. I would hope he would look good under that circumstance.

thinking in a negative mindset is never a good thing for anyone....you've already lost half the battle if you do that kind of thing. and i agree with what your saying about Troy....anything positive at this point for us is a good sign (doesnt matter if it was against the 2nd string....thats 1 string behind hte starters aka the Back ups and the string before 3rd string)

I am not at all being negative. I am just not being overally positive about. I prefer to call it a neutral stand point. I am just trying to not get caught up in all the hype like some of other have, because like I said there is a good chance that our QB of the future is not on the roster. I am cheering for Troy, I am but I am also setting the expectations at a level where I think he can reach. If he blows that away, GREAT. If he doesnt, I wont be disappointed. If you cant understand that, I dont really care. More power to you.

and i do think that we should set the standards to which he can reach and eventually (hopefully) go beyond those limitations later on his career.

And raving about his play against backups, in my opinion, does not do that. In fact, I think all the praise hurts his progress more then it helps. We would love to think our players ignore whats being said about them but we all know that they dont.

heck....i think we should Post ALL mockdrafts here so we can get a CLEAR picture of what each one is saying about us, as well as the other teams, in terms of Players likely to be selected.

i think this is much more likely

No, I think that one is worst then the first one. Miami is going to take a QB and so will we. I think the only way we take a CB is if Broham, Ryan, and Woodson are all already gone and that could happen because Miami, Atlanta and Kansas City could all take QB, ahead of us. I also dont think we are going to take another offensive lineman that early.

Have been a Ravens fan for a very long time. And all I am saying is we shouldnt count on Troy Smith being the "saviour" of this team. We need to look at all our options because no I didnt watch the whole 2 minutes he was on the field but I have seen clips and I was not that impressed. And I have a right to my opinion just like everyone else.
