that doesnt even make any sense lol

Billick is too talkative, sometimes to the point where his "answers" raise even more questions than questions solved <_<

i think what he meant when he said that was that " right now Troy is the Back up quarterback...one who's still learning and still observing and watching and taking mental notes and all that stuff.....and at some point in the season he may start to bring Troy in More and more (like in the late in the 2nd or 3rd quarter to play the rest of the game) and see how he does..which is referring to Troy 'Might have to carry the load...meaning Most of the load as he will see more playing time

i think thats what he meant by it.

I believe by saying"he may have to carry the load" means that if Kyle Boller gets hurt, Troy Smith will have to step up and"carry the load"

noone really knows though except for Billick himself....but so either of our predications could be wrong or right or one could be wrong, one could be right...

Did Billick nickname clipboards "the load?" Cuz if so, this quote has a whole new meaning!!!

That's sarcasm guys.

Well last time I tried a sarcastic comment it went over some people's heads. And that's not a put down on the average intelligence of Ravens fans, just fact. Though I could easily make it into a joke.

well we take great pride in our team and some of our fans take offense to any comment that is not meant in a positive fashion/way....

smashmouth and raven07 are both right, if boller gets injured, of coarse troys gonna have to carry the load(load meaning entire offense resting on his shoulders, get it)? and of coarse he means troy will have to come in sooner or later if boller keeps blowing it from the backup spot to have to carry the load (also means offense in his hands)

and wouldnt you think that (as of right now...) having Troy come in during the 2nd hlaf of play and play teh Rest of the game, would be seemingly the best answer to go with? because it allows Troy to study the other quarterbacks THEN it also allows him to showcase what he's learned and what he can do. Plus doing it this way, also provides Troy with Valuable playing time/experience..WHILE sitting back and watching and learning....it works both ways in the equation.

i personally would like to see him start to get the atmosphere/feeling of the offensive side of the ball is in his hands to win or lose in this game and see what happens, i tihnk he would decimate the dolphins secondary, but thats just me, i would have to say from a developement standpoint, i would put him in at halftime

i think next season would be the most reasonable for him to "Start"...i mean I Love Troy to death and would love to see him start...but right now...having him play for 2 quarters, while having him watch the way the other QB's play the position....is the way in which he not only Learns from what he visualizes and see's on the field but also gets the opportunity to go out there and actually show everyone what he's got.

I would love to see Troy start, but I think he should work his way into more playing time first. Don't want to throw him to the wolves, but then again, the Dolphins are not exactly wolves right now. Make the second half his (or earlier, if Boller doesn't produce) and see what happens. You never know, a little competition might do Kyle some good ;) ! OSU is proud of you, Troy.....keep it up!

The picture in your signature, sums up my feelings on Troy Smith. He lacks proper mechanics and is not ready to play in the NFL.

How bout my signature because he looks calm, eyes down field, and just out of reach.

Your signature combined with the one I mentioned brings one thing to mind INCONSISTANCY. It bought other things to mind but I dont know if 96 is a backup or if that was Robert Mathis.

96 is Keyunta Dawson a rookie out of Texas Tech.

as i said before.....it really didnt matter whether Troy was playing against the Starters on defense or not, the MAIN point was to see WHERE Troy is at in his progression. and from what we've seen from him...he seems to be Ahead of schedule and his development.

I cant comment on the development part because I stopped watching that game at halftime. So, I didnt get a look at Troy Smith but I dont understand how you can speak of him being on time with his development when we dont know he would play against first string players. How can you judge that he is ahead schedule? Being ahead of schedule ,imo, would be having a great day against first string players. Not against second string players, who are really playing just to run the clock down. His playing time was garbage time and it says nothing about his development schedule. In my opinion.

i did get home in time to see Troy Come in and play and he most definately showed Significant Signs of improvement....he was calm, he was ACCURATE, he was poised, he was Definately mobile (lol making those players let and right like he did) and had the leadership in him to Rally his teammates around him and get into endzone.....heck his VERY first pass attemt was a Deep Bomb to Figurs that was just BARELY incomplete, if Figurs would have ran just a tad bit faster...his first pass attempt would have been for a TD. If you remember back in Pre-seaon he was consistant and was not accurate and passes were under/over thrown, and when he came in last week....we saw absolutely NONE of that....just a poised, confident passer and MOBILE player that we saw of him in college...and he drove the Team down the field and scored a TD....thats how we can see his development. and how well he's progressed thus far.

Keep in mind that he was in those pre-season games...playing second string palyers and wasnt playing well....then fast forward to the last week... and see the type of player he was.....you can see the progress...its so obvious to see

i recently took a look at the mock draft you posted and as you already know the so-called "experts" have andre woodson coming to town. now, with all the talk about troy deserving a chance to prove himself ( and he does deserve it! ) if the mock holds up, would ya'll be upset with the direction of the organization? or just accept it knowing in reality there's nothing we as fans can do about it? woodson is a nice prospect, but troy has a year under his belt already. in my opinion that would set the team back another year by drafting a quarterback with their 1st pick.

neepo...you talk of consistency as if we've seen it throughout the year. Troy isn't anything you say, at least in comparison to anything else we have. I'd like to see you say Boller is consistent, because that's what you (and the rest of us) should be comparing Troy Smith to.

I don't see much to worry about in Miami, if Boller cant get it done, stick Smith in. If Smith cant get it done, it shows us he's not ready. I don't see the pass being very effective in this game anyway, as McGahee is gonna run all over Miami. This is pretty much a feel out game as to who should start for us next year, since this year our starter will no doubt be Boller for the rest of the games (of which, I have no problem with).

If Miami is able to pass on us, it also gives a big red flag as to what we should and definitely will be drafting in the first round; a CB.
