Kelley Washington

30 posts in this topic

Most of us Ravens fans are in agreement that Kelley should be brought back next season. I just found another reason why this should happen. Here's the highlight:

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d815a3aab/Wild-Card-Ray-Rice-highlights

For those who don't feel like watching it, late in the Pats game, on third and 7, Kelley went into motion(Brandon Merriweather followed him) and Flacco handed the ball off to Rice. Kelley ran forward a few steps and took down Merriweather with a textbook chop-block. Merriweather got up and instead of going for Rice, he gave Kelley a few shoves as he got up. After getting to his feet fully, Kelley took a step back and then chop-blocked Merriweather down a again.

I've had seen Kelley throw some sweet blocks to spring Rice and McGahee this year but this play was beautiful.

Haha I like it :plus-un2:

Best part was the play was pretty close to him yet all he does is just swat Kelley only to get dropped again. Hahahahaha

It's those little things that fly outside the box that we don't always realize, that is sometimes why the coach will favor some players that we don't always understand.
On every good play, there is so much going on.

Haha! Thats awesome. Its good to know how selfless our players are. Instead of whining about how they barely got balls thrown their way, the wider recievers being as physical as ever and making blocks such as the Washington one you pointed out.

Thanks for pointing that out, I had to watch it real close because like everyone else when Rice runs the ball I get so focused on his talent it's like tunnel vision. As for Kelly, I've liked what I've seen out of him this season, but who knows what the off season will bring.

Yep. On Flacco's third down, Mark Clayton blasted a Pats DB. It's always great to re-watch big individual plays and see what the other players did.

Are you saying you want the Ravens to get a new RB?

I thought it was funnier when during the 4th quarter KW was screaming at the crowd, "It's over, go home, go home, yeah you, gone home, you lost. It's over!".

I bet patriot fans are pissed at merriweather because instead of moving on he starts a shoving match only to be chop blocked again.

I agree on signing Kelley again. Mason is retiring and Kelley is the only receiver who has shown any consistency. Williams, Clayton and others just have not. Kelley is a intense player and when he gets the ball he is all about moving the chains. Not dropping because he is afraid of taking a hit.

The all-around blocking on that first play was just ridiculous.

McClain is a consistent blocker, but Grubbs/Yanda both went to their second options and completely manhandled the New England players; Rice hit the hole perfectly, which helps, too.

Yanda had the absolute game of his life, though, as he was mauling everyone and anyone in a Patriots' uniform.

lol thats absolutely classic. You know Kelly wanted to get into it with Merriweather and then you can almost see him grinning and being like "chop block 2!!!!!!" lol

I know, I would be livid too if that was one of our players.

Hope that doesn't happen this weekend (against us).

The game was all but over with the score being 33 - 14 in the fourth, but I agree, if Frank Walker had done that, he would have stooped to a new low.

I also like that you pointed it out I was all into little Ray's smoking run.I like it because it shows he can back his stuff up on the field.

I'm surpised no one has noticed that. I mean merriweather was literally punching him and couldof been thrown out. He's always been a thug since his brawl at miami.

Kelley Washington is ironically a former Patriot
[/quote]

I liked him waving bye bye to the crowd. This season me and my friends while watching games always get a chuckle out of his first down dances. I went to the lions/ravens game this season and washington got a ton of field time with clayton out and during commecial breaks he would take like 4-5 steps away from the huddle and just start dancing with himself to the music being played... funny guy lol.
