Winning the superbowl? Well how did you feel when we won the superbowl in 2000? I'll be feeling the same exact same way. Happy.

I was 6 years old when we won the super bowl and didnt become a football/Ravens fan until 2004

Some people just don't understand how others can live vicariously through these athletes. Growing up, we're always told that we can be whatever we want to be -- problem is, life doesn't always work out how we plan. Rather than beat ourselves up about it, we take joy in other people's accomplishments as they live out the dream that we missed out on. The dream that we never achieved for one reason or another.

That's not to say that we shouldn't keep dreaming -- but it makes it easier to sleep when we can smile at someone else achieving their dreams and experiencing the glory that we've always dreamt about.
Perfectly put! Life demands so much of all of us that there our some things we just have to hold on to. Sometimes it's the little things that make all the other stuff easier to take.

Never had the feeling since I wasn't a fan back in 2000.

Ever since I became a fan I've been dreaming of the day we win a championship. I don't know what I'd do.

I'm pretty sure I'd stay up because their would be no point to even try to go to sleep.

Hope you guys don't consider my post "off-topic", but I remember when we won the 2000 SB (in Jan 2001) the teams mantra was "Who let the dogs out". I remember phoning all my firends and family with that mantra everytime the Ravens made a big play - whether O or D. Yes, I did cry when we won. Will never forget the image of Ray holding up the Lombardi Trophy in victory. It was a very special game and I will never forget that Defense. Arguably the best D of the decade.

That reminds me of a line from Catcher Jake Taylor in the movie Major League.

Thats not even arguable. What is arguable is whether or not it was the best ever. I vote yes!

Pedro Cerrano: Bats, they are sick. I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid. I ask Jobu to come, take fear from bats. I offer him cigar, rum. He will come.
Eddie Harris: You know you might think about taking Jesus Christ as your savior instead of fooling around with all this stuff.
Roger Dorn: Shoot, Harris.
Pedro Cerrano: Jesus, I like him very much, but he no help with curveball.
Eddie Harris: You trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?

Haha exactly. People laugh and make fun of me all the time because of how much I care about my teams but I dont care. They just don't understand. They don't get it.
Friends think the same about me. My stomach will hurt before a game, and they are like why??? They say they are fans of other teams, but when you call them when their team is playing, they are playing xbox....

Winning the superbowl would be the ultimate bitter sweet as a Ravens fan. We'd lose so many players to retirement it wouldn't even be funny.

Matt Birk
Ed Reed
Kelly Greg
Ray Lewis
Derrick Mason
Brendon Ayanbadejo
and a hand full more.

Our 2010 season would be disastrous with those losses.
I don't think ed or ray would retire. Rays got a couple year left in the tank and I don't think he could walk away prematurely just bc of wnning the sb.

Werd. I can watch football all day. I always pick a team to root for. Unless the steelers are playing the cowboys, LOL. When the ravens come on though my stomach gets in knots and I can't eat. It's the total opposite when I'm at the game though.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here! Seriously I thought last year was our best chance to win the SB with only one game away to face the Arizona Cards. This year we can put outselves in the same position but we need to beat the Colts, Chargers/Jets, and whoever emerges from the NFC which are all tough opponents. Won't be a easy task, but if we play like we did vs the Pats, and go in every game as hungry underdogs, we can do it.

Hahaha that is a great part.

Harris walks up and spots jobu and his cup of rum. Picks it up and drinks it. He walks out of the clubhouse and on to the field.

Harris: Hey bartender, Jobu needs a refill!

Player lets go of the bat as he swings, it flies over, hits Harris and knocks him out. Hahaha :)

I dont mean to jump the gun or anything here because I understand that we are still 3 wins from winning the Super Bowl but I always find myself thinking about this moment. The moment when the clock strikes double zero and the Baltimore Ravens are World Champions. Amazing. I really don't know how I would react until it actually happens. I do know for sure that I'm gonna cry. It may sound ridiculous because we fans are not really part of the team but I really feel like I am a part of it. I put a lot of emotion and pride into being a fan of this team. I think I have just as much fun watching and following this team then the players do actually playing the game. And for my team, our team, to accomplish the ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl would just be incredible. Lets make it happen. What are your thoughts?

It would be amazing, I can't lie, I've been thinking about it as well.

Just a comment from a non-US resident on NBA, MLB, NFL champions being crowned 'World Champions' - most people from other countries find that disrespectful. It's not a World Championship unless countries from all around the world can compete.

I know the NFL is light years ahead of other football leagues around the world, the example is more for the NBA and MLB. I mean in the NBA and MLB in recent years, the USA has not won either of the international competitions. I realise that the 'Redeem Team' got Gold, but that's not the official world championship either.

Just my thoughts. Again, they are the best leagues in the world, BUT, you cannot say World Champions unless teams from other nations are allowed into the competitions.

 Agreed!

But yeah, I can't help but think about the SB. I just hope we don't lose before then.

Quite frankly, I'll be ecstatic at just making it. :)
