If The Ravens Won The Super Bowl

57 posts in this topic

I dont mean to jump the gun or anything here because I understand that we are still 3 wins from winning the Super Bowl but I always find myself thinking about this moment. The moment when the clock strikes double zero and the Baltimore Ravens are World Champions. Amazing. I really don't know how I would react until it actually happens. I do know for sure that I'm gonna cry. It may sound ridiculous because we fans are not really part of the team but I really feel like I am a part of it. I put a lot of emotion and pride into being a fan of this team. I think I have just as much fun watching and following this team then the players do actually playing the game. And for my team, our team, to accomplish the ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl would just be incredible. Lets make it happen. What are your thoughts?

with the way our D looked Sunday, I was thinking that a bit too.
Absolutely. I felt like I was watching the 2000 Ravens defense the way we played against the great Tom Brady.

I get butterflies, just thinking about the possibility. Reminds me of last year, when I said I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

I'd cry. Hands-down. I'm a very emotional person, and I'd definitely cry even if I'd try not to. It'd be too beautiful a moment not to cry.

Its alot to think about. Easy to say. Hard to do. But just thinking about it gives you a special feeling inside that makes you think you can do anything, anywhere, at anytime. And that is how i feel about the Ravens. We. Will. Win. It. All.

Haha exactly. People laugh and make fun of me all the time because of how much I care about my teams but I dont care. They just don't understand. They don't get it.

I'd feel so happy for Derrick Mason and Ed Reed. Two of our veterans who have contributed so much to this team but haven't gotten rings.
Exactaly. Odds are slim Mase will be back again. Reed with all his physical issues might not be back. (I dont know when his contract runs out)
I would love to see them end on a high note.

The more of these threads we have, the more I feel like we are going to get Jinx.

We are enjoying the smell of our own farts a little too much. Next week if we lose, will we be seeing the Fire Harbaugh threads instead of the Superbowl non-stop threads?

2008- Ravens beat AFC East champs (Dolphins)
Ravens Beat AFC South champs (Titans)

2009- Ravens beat AFC East champs (Patriots)
Ravens beat AFC South champs (Colts) imo

My opinion is that if we can defeat the Patriots, Colts and then the Chargers or Jets it proves that no matter how good the other teams offense or defense is we will win.

I dont know what I would really do.

I would probably party for 10 days straight.

I would definitely go to the parade in Baltimore.

I would just feel so good for the team in general.

All the work these guys put in finally paid off.

I would be so happy to see the class act Derrick Mason get a ring, he came very close in Tennessee. Derrick deserves a ring, he has done so much for this team over the years.

I would also like to see Reed get a ring.

Hope the Chargers lose, because you know what comes next (#2 Seed). Last year, we lost to it, lol.

I feel you on the feeling of being jinxed, but this thread is hardly in expectation of winning a Super Bowl -- it's moreso just talking about a "what if" scenario.

But you're right, we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. The definition of "fanatic" aside, it's raised expectations that end up disappointing us the most.

Some people just don't understand how others can live vicariously through these athletes. Growing up, we're always told that we can be whatever we want to be -- problem is, life doesn't always work out how we plan. Rather than beat ourselves up about it, we take joy in other people's accomplishments as they live out the dream that we missed out on. The dream that we never achieved for one reason or another.

That's not to say that we shouldn't keep dreaming -- but it makes it easier to sleep when we can smile at someone else achieving their dreams and experiencing the glory that we've always dreamt about.

Man Im shaking, seeing that Defense live....woah what a thought.
Unbelievable. No defense was better than the 2000 Ravens. Still can't believe NFLN had them as number 7. What a joke.

Yeah pal, but everyone on NFL network picked the Patriots to win. See how much they can "analyze"

Winning the superbowl would be the ultimate bitter sweet as a Ravens fan. We'd lose so many players to retirement it wouldn't even be funny.

Matt Birk
Ed Reed
Kelly Greg
Ray Lewis
Derrick Mason
Brendon Ayanbadejo
and a hand full more.

Our 2010 season would be disastrous with those losses.

Thats a great post man, I've never thought of it that way. I have plenty of my own dreams and aspirations... but I'd also like to think that I am part of something pretty big in a Superbowl victory. We certainly go through ups and downs with the team.

Winning the superbowl? Well how did you feel when we won the superbowl in 2000? I'll be feeling the same exact same way. Happy.

Exactly you look at two players that have put so much into this team and i coudnt think of 2 players more deserving of a ring. Mason came back just for this reason so i hope our team can get there. I love our team i think we have one of the most classy players in the league that play very close as a group and it showed sunday as both sides of the ball played off of each others emotion it was an amazing game

I love my team, I love them so much, I bet on them to win the Super Bowl when I was in Vegas last June (before training camp!).
The line then was 10 to 1.
Let's get past those pesky( hopefully rusty) Colts this Sat.
THAT should be the focus now.
All the way!!!
