John Harbaugh Might Be "the New Situation"

35 posts in this topic

Period. John "The Situation" Harbaugh's failure to challenge the muffed punt in the NE game is giving me goose-bumps. Now I know he is buffed like "The Situation," but the REAL situation is scaring me half to death. Thank God We Won. COME ON MAN!

How did it almost cost us the game? We had a sizeable lead. Not only that, but it wasn't all on him -- it happened on the opposite sideline, and the big board didn't show an immediate replay. Additionally, the replay assistants weren't shown the same replays we saw at home.

Its more on our guys upstairs watching the replays who tell him to challenge then it is on coach Harbaugh.

I'll have to agree with everyone else. I don't understand how that almost cost the Ravens the game. We were up 24-0 at that point, and it wasn't his fault at all.

The Ravens completely dismantled the New England Patriots, not the Dolphins, not the Titans, THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
..please just enjoy the ride

He said he didn't get a replay and was not sure if he should challenge it.

That 2nd year coach has also led us to 2 postseasons and 3 wins and counting
Lets fire him because he didn't challenge a play that he didn't even see right? lol The real question is where was the replay and where were the refs?

Hammer, I really don't understand your teminology of "the situation" .

The situation was, Harbaugh had his team motivated and ready to play. He didn't blow anything, so give the coach a break.

Remember the Patriots had not lost at home in 32 years. It was a "wow" day for the Ravens.

Well, if he can't be everywhere and see everything, he's obviously not good enough to be the head coach!

John still has some things to learn, but at back-to-back playoff appearances, a 3-1 postseason record, and a motivated team..I'm happy with our coach.

Dinging Harbaugh for the non-challenge makes as much sense as giving a student a low score on a test because someone else got an answer wrong. Blame the right guy.

Hey, look! I've got some more excuses why Harbaugh didn't know to throw the flag.

1. The sun was in his eye's.

2. His shoes were untied.

3. He thought the red flag stuffed down his trousers were to impress the girls in row C.

But seriously, I don't think the coach should be fired or anything like that, but that play, in any other game, had the potential to be HUGE!

If you add this kind of gaffe potential to his already acknowledged.....

1. lack of talent ID skills
2. poor player roles and rotations
3. pseudo-doghouse
4. his poor game management
5. the normal lack of team discipline
6. Ed(coaches can kiss my #@#$) Reed still lateralling after int's.

And NOW, he can't manage when to throw the flag. Maybe he didn't see the play, but god@#@%&*, that his job! and he didn't get it done.

No slack from me! John "The Situation" Harbaugh is beginning the scare me to death!
If you are that scared, perhaps you'd be better suited for enjoying a nice game of bridge, or curling or something. I think you are fear mongering and looking to flame.

Finally, ONE HONEST FAN.

I was just watching the Tom Davis Show and Wally Williams, Ambertheo Harris, Ed Norris and Tom himself all agreed, that there is NO WAY IN HELL that an NFL coach can miss that play and not be some sort of bonehead.

Wally says, I don't care if I have to have someone at home watching TV and call me to make sure I don't miss this type of play.

Only Ravens fans can be wearing their "purple leotards and halter-tops" so tight in the crotch that their eyes can't see this. What a bunch of losers, already.

Agreed. If it is a known problem getting the feed maybe the Ravens need to have someone monitoring the network feed.

I saw the explanation and I am still not buying it. It is the coaches job and no-one elses to get this right and he managed to blow it. That challenge flag is a HUGE part of the game today and if you don't have every angle covered to use it, then someone else should have it stuffed down their crotch.

Good coaches don't make these kind of mistakes, especially in the playoffs.

Maybe you should approach the leadership and tell them how your game plan would have beaten the Patriots better than Harbs'.

On the two point conversion, the replay shows the ball over the goal line and the ref reviewing the play still got it wrong. Throwing that flag is a coin flip no matter how clear it is.

"That left it up to coaches in the booth upstairs. But those coaches see only what fans watching on TV see. And since the Ravens coaches’ telecast was on a six-second delay and the television broadcast almost immediately went to commercial, there wasn’t enough time to alert Harbaugh to any problem."

So which part of this explanation eludes you? I'm just wondering. We're up 24 to nothing, yet it was almost a deciding factor? In what exactly? The difference between winning 33-14 and 33-7? God forbid giving him any credit for getting his players ready to dismantle a team that did not lose a home Playoff game in over 30 years. We almost lost because he didnt employ a coach with better eye sight to sit in the booth! Let's fire him and replace him with a more capable coach, the likes of which are definitely crawling all over the street, begging for an opportunity.

this is just an awful thread, im sorry. John Harbaugh is one of the best playoff coaches in the league, he has led us to 3 road playoff wins the last 2 years. To compare, we have 6 road playoff wins total since 2000. Harbaugh is responsible for half. He makes a few mistakes, sure, but it absolutely didnt come close to costing us the game. It led to a 24-7 game. I agree however that Harbaugh must get these bad calls challenged in the Colts game, if there are any. But no, he is not a problem at all, be happy with how our season is going and like others said ENJOY THE RIDE

Here's the deal. The issue is not about game plan. The issue is about the coaches role in challenging plays on the field. The HEAD Coach is responsible for this. Not th eoffensive coordinator, not the defensive coordinator.....the head coach.

Now if it's MY responsibility to CHALLENGE PLAYS on the field......then it reasonable to hold me accountable for being ablt to SEE ALL THE PLAYS ON THE FIELD.

See what I mean? I have guys in the video booth. I have players on the field. I have all the world of technology at my disposal to help me with this and I STILL BLOW IT. That was GROSS INCOMPETENCE.

Now I am glad we won the game, but that play gave away a free touchdown, and not to mention the momentum, in a game where my players came out on fire. That's the coaches fault and it's worst that getting a ruffing the passer penalty on a 4th and 14 play, as far as I am concerned.

Even if you don't agree with me (and that's ok), I hope that you can at least UNDERSTAND the point here.
