Todd Heap

21 posts in this topic

Todd was twisted up pretty badly. He had linemen roll on the backs of his legs and the linebacker tried to push his head into the #s on his back. Given his existing back issues, this could be not good.

My neck and back hurt from just watching.

Anyone heard a report?

Yup and we were yelling it from home here as well. I'm sure we we're the only ones.

That was us yelling at the game. By the last 5-10 minutes of the game all the Patriots fans had gone so we all moved down to the bottom rows and crowded the raven's bench. Ray Rice and Frank Walker and some of the other players were waving bye to Patriots fans. We were yelling their names and they would smile and acknowledge us. It was pretty crazy to watch Foxboro empty while Tom Brady is still on the field in a playoff game.

Some fines should come out of that mess where they were trying to break Todd's spine. I haven't seen the replay of that, but from one take, it was blatant. Tight Ends are used to taking big hits, but that was horrible sportsmanship IMO. I met Todd last year after the Titans playoff game; he's as nice as can be.

While I like Heap and his production up until yesterday had been good to see, what annoys me about the TE situation is that no one is giving him help. What the hell is L.J. Smith doing on the roster? Can't Edgar Jones contribute at all?

I can't wait till this team dumps L.J. and drafts a capable TE to spell Heap.

I like Quinn Sypniewski. He's a good blocking tight end that can spell Heap on running downs. He is not as much of a threat receiving, but is somewhat capable. I remember when Heap was injured and Quinn caught a TD pass, the stadium went HHHHEEEEEEAAAAAaaaappppppp......? He is definitely capable of spelling Heap, too bad about his injury. If he comes back, we wouldn't have to worry as much about addressing the position this offseason.

I doubt Sypniewski is brought back but even if he is, this team still needs a young TE who can be a receiving threat.

We dont run single back sets too often because McClain is a guy you want on the field and for whatever reason we like our 2 WR I Form sets with Clayton on the field, im guessing so it doesnt compress the 8 man box's we see even more. While I think LJ has been a waste, I also cant blame him as they dont even use a second TE at all. Even in goal line.
