Ravens Mock Draft

75 posts in this topic

the first round is bs......we wont pick another qb we got troy i know after seeing this game billick wont give up on troy too easily he doesnt want to pull off another derrick anderson lol

Troy Smith was playing against second and third string players with a first string offense. That game means nothing. The only way the Ravens can evaluate Smith is if he starts the rest of the season. The Ravens will draft a QB but I hope its not Woodson and seeing as though we will have a much higher pick then 11, it wont be Woodson.

Has he played a whole season yet? (T. Heap) Great TE but always gets hurt every year. Injuries are part of the game but if you can't count on a guy get something in return for him. Just my opinion.

Well, that could be solved with a decent QB. Heap's injuries always come from being hung out to dry by his QB, over and over again. Elimnate that problem and you cut down on his injury problems.

Hung out to dry? Come on man he is a tightend, he is supposed to be tough - its not like he is a 180 lbs slot reciever going over the middle. Heap is just a fragile guy.

You say that like Heap takes one big hit and is knocked out of the game. He takes 5 or 6 big back breaking hits and then he goes down. No other probowl tightend in the league goes through what Heap goes through EVERY single game. Everytime, he goes up in the air to the get ball, which is almost every play, he leaves his body vulnarable and pays for it.

Heap is the kind of guy/athlete that will lay his own body on the line for his teammates and his team in order to come up with the Big Play and help us Score and win the game....thats just how he is and he's a HUGE playmaker for us. and unfortunately this season the injury bug has gotten him more so than other seasons....though he is still HEAP...the All-Pro, Pro Bowl Tight End of the Baltimore Ravens and is an individual in which should be admired for his willingness of putting his own body out there for the betterness of the team.

McNair Knew what to do because he's been there and has done it numerous times before....Boller on the other hand, hasnt done that (so to speak)....and so we dont see as many accurate or "on Target" passes from Boller.

I think you are reading too much into Troy Smith's two minutes of actual game play. I think he looked good also but not good enough in 2 minutes to say he is the future of the Ravens. If we could get a top QB in the draft why not. Obviously Boller and McNair aren't the answer, but I'm not willing to put all my eggs in one basket with Smith either. Especially after only 2 minutes in one game.

it was time for us to see what he has learned up to this point in time....it wasnt like "if you do well your the starter" kind of deal here......that wasnt it at all......it was just a time in which we figured to put him in and see where's he's at in development....and from what we have seen of him he has been ahead of schedule......this was by no means Calling Troy the starter.

Agreed.

i think we are proud of him in the fact that we see the progress he has made in development. thats why we are saying the things we are about him....and in no retro-spect, do i think he should start as of yet....next season at best...the splitting time of game-play between the 2 Quarterbacks seems the most reasonable/logical thing to go with at this point.

well if we can get a Good Veteran QB that's not TOO old to the point of not playing anymore...i think we can at least give it a go.

No way a vet will cost way to much. I would rather have another young guy with lot's of potential. If you have 2, the odds are better that one of them will turn into the franchise QB of this team. Dont just hand Troy Smith the job because you like him. Make him compete for it. I would feel a lot better knowing that the guy on the field earned the right to be on the field. Thats never the case in Baltimore, we never make our Qb's battle it out and prove they are whorthy of the starting job. Billick just selects someone and thats who he sticks with even if the backup is better.

We should get him back...recapture that Super Bowl magic.

We should have never let him go but I dont want him back now. Have you seen Dilfer lately, its time for him to hang it up.

Ask Miami how that turned out. Exhibit A: Cleo Lemon, Exhibit B: Jon Beck
