Playoffs-Next Up: Indianapolis Professional Football Team

351 posts in this topic

Its never too soon for a next up thread so here it goes. Well, what a great game in New England. I cannot believe the intensity we played with today. The offensive line just dominated. The Running game was amazing and the passing game didn't need to do anything, but when it did, it got the job done for the most part. Here we go to play Indy, if we keep this intensity we can beat anyone. How about that secondary of ours? Chris Carr and Foxworth have really turned it on! Thoughts?

Turnovers was the key, good job Ravens

Yeah I bet it scared you when we had so many free runners on Brady, would'nt want that to happen to Peyton ;)

I think Manning is much better at handling the blitz than Brady.

Definitely a better on-field 'adjuster'. We need a slightly different plan and hold back on the blitzes a tad.

1st let me say, that was an impressive win today. Thoroughly dominating, and if not for that mis-hap with the punt/non-challenge, this could have been a 40-3 win.

I like to think that the Colts are better at detecting & picking up the blitz then the Patriots did today. I think our last 7 games together would show that. Not to mention that without Welker, the Patriots lose their big play-maker.

Wes Welker would not have stopped the Ravens from gaining 260+ yards on the ground. Wes Welker would not have stopped Ray Rice from scoring an 83 yard TD on the game's opening play. Wes Welker's backup was not a weak spot in the offense. Edelman acconted for all of the Patriots' points.

The Ravens dominated today, end of story.

I completely agree. Edelman was the only bright spot on their entire team that i saw.

Side note: does anyone know what happened to Todd? Or the guy that Frank flipped and landed on his head..Aiken I think?

This is a great opportunity to get another upset in Indy. We are coming off a huge win. The Colts haven't played a meaningful game since we were stuffing our face with Turkey.

If we can start with the ball. And get to running well right off the bat, we can sneak another early lead while the Colts shake off their rust.

Todd should be fine. It looked like a back injury (which he's had some issues with pretty much all year). I expect him to be ready for Indy.

I can't say that I'm super confident. But after we shut down such a vaunted passing attack, I have a little faith.
But, going up against Indy's little front 7, I can't see Rice getting it done. Willis will have to come up big for us to win that game.

The colts specialize in Pass defense with their front seven. The Pats specialize in Run Defense.

We just manhandled the Pats D-Line. We should be able to go into Indy and have the exact same gameplan today and suceed.

The question will be, will the same defense show up today?

Rice wont be able to run so easily against the Colts. This game will be on Flaccos shoulders. I don't know how I feel about that after todays performance. Hopefully he can get a little healthier by next Saturday.

Why not? The Colts are better in pass defense with their front seven. They are tiny and speed rush.

If anything we should've struggled with running against the Pats. The Colts we should be fine with running the ball.

Because they're fast in the front 7. They're very good against little speedy backs. If we give them McGahee and McClain we'll get extra yards after contact because they're too big for the Colts.

First and formost Indy / Manning is FAR better [/opinion] than Pats / princess brady.

If we bring our first quarter defence from today to ALL four quarters next week Peyton will have a difficult day. Our O needs to be a little less one dementional.

No way will there be a point spread against Indy like we had today. That one will liekly be a nail biter down to the wire.

I think that's been stated a million times and is obvious with 260 rushing yards.....(slaps hand against head)

Indianapolis Professional Football Team...that's great! I know there is a lot of great history with the Baltimore Colts. However, I say it's alright to call them the Indianapolis "Colts". We have a new era in Baltimore. It it has a great new franchise. It's call the Baltimore Ravens!!! Let's continue the jounery next with a Baltimore Ravens victory over the Indianapolis "Colts".

Walker was able to play his brand of physical football. Normally he's too physical, but today he had it right.

that was fantastic. I hate him less for that, but knowing him he could swing right back the other way really quickly.
