Best Regular Season Win Ever?

37 posts in this topic

I remember a topic like this in '07, so since there are a bunch of new fans here, I thought I'd ask it again: What regular season Ravens game was the best you've ever seen? Personally, I have to say that the Beatdown in Cowboy Town was the best I've ever watched. Last game in the Old Texas Stadium. JJ requested for a "Weak Team". Ravens playoff hopes hanging by a thread. My Cowboys fan of a father saying the only thing I'd hear is, "TOUCHDOWN BABY!!!!!" I sure heard myself screaming that..... Twice, to be exact, lol. And the fake FG was just amazing. He almost scored on it, lol. What about you guys?

That game was up there. Another one is our first victory over the Colts, with Harbaugh as our QB

We kinda have to beat the Pats first though, lol. Cross your fingers man!!!!

Hmmm, great question. There are a few that are very memorable to me

2004 season when Anthony Wright led the Ravens in a huge 2nd half comeback to beat the Seattle Seahawks 44-41.

2006 Ravens shut out the Steelers 27-0

2008 Ravens beat the Cowboys on SNF

2005 Kyle Boller's 2nd best game as a Raven in a 48-3 win over GB on MNF

I think that the most memorable regular season game for me atleast was the Ravens-Patriots game on MNF. We didn't win that game so I guess it doesn't count. But our banged up and injured defense came out and went toe to toe with one of the greatest offenses ever, and Kyle Boller for one night played up to his potential.

I certainly put the closing of the cowboys stadium up there. We had some awesome games with the Jags back in the "old days"

Not according to his wild INT. I think I'm biased because my whole family likes the Cowboys except me, lol. I'm the black sheep or whatever you call it, lol.

yeah that INT was TERRIBLE, but I guess for that one classic kyle boller moment he made a few very nice plays that night.

Well atleast you rebelled and became a Ravens fan instead of being a Eagles or Giants fan lol

Lol, first team I watched was the Ravens the season before they won the Super Bowl.

"Daddy, I wanna like the Ravens."

"Don't you want to be like me and be a Cowboys fan?"

"No, the Ravens are cool, Cowboys suck."

"You should think about it for a little before you decide"

*10 minutes later*

"Daddy, I thought about it..... Cowboys suck."

lol

That would be my pick. My first ever NFL attended. 70% of the people left. What little remained we went insaine. Just an incredible game.

Last year against the cowboys second.

If only we beat the undefeated Pats in 2007. That would have been the best regular season game ever.

This.

It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about that game.

I know. I was hoping that the commish would overturn something on it, and the next morning, for some reason, the Ravens would take take the win. I was literally praying for half an hour that night.

I think he meant Jim Harbaugh at QB

I have 2. The come from behind to beat the chargers at home in '06 I think. (Heap caught the winning TD right in front of me), and the cowboy game last year. Those long td runs were awesome.

Ditto. Back-to-back longest running plays in a stadium that was about to close, unbelievable.

Oh yeah........ lol, thanks. I thought he said HC, and was implying that we'd beat the Pats tomorrow, and then the Colts next week. But hey, maybe that could be the greatest win ever..... Me Thinks the Raiders was pretty damn good. I mean, the SB was utter domination, with one slip at a KR.

Last year against the Cowboys.

Leron busting out for that huge TD put a smile on my face.
[/quote]
Yeah, it reminds me of the McGahee one against Oakland. I think the Patriots would've been the best, had the Ravens won.

so many to choose from...but....

i really liked the Ravens win over the Cowboys to close out Texas Stadium because from what i understand....Jerry Jones "requested" that the Ravens be on the Cowboys schedule for that day. sooooo....he asked for it!

hey Jerry! be careful what you ask for cause you just may get it!

I have a few favorites

2003 -
vs. Seattle
Best comeback in Ravens history by far. Anthony Wright's finest hour.

2006 -
Vs. San Diego
The Todd Heap td with Merriman on his back was his best play as a raven, or one of them at least.

Both Pittsburgh wins
I mean Cmon, who dosent love sweeping Pittsburgh?

2008 -
@ Dallas
I agree with everyone on here about this win, that was one of the funnest games to watch.

Surprised no one has mentioned Jamal's record breaking game against Cleveland in '03 yet! I don't know that I'd put it ahead of last year's Cowboys game, but it's definitely worth mentioning at least.

Also as much as I loved the beating of the Cowboys, they're still not our rivals, nor are they even in our conference, so the edge for me goes to the Steelers game in '06 when we sacked Ben 8 times. It was like watching Ben crash his motorcycle on live television, over and over and over again, 8 times over the course of 3 hours. Absolute Classic.

I think it was the 2nd Titans game in 2000(?) the game Eddie had like 32 yards rushing, Ray simply dominated him that game it was unbelievable. Took him on face up in the hole, took one step back and then just stopped dead in his tracks and pushed Eddie back over. That was also the game that spawned the "everytime he got hit after that Eddie just folded like a baby, he wanted no part of us"- courtesy of C-Mac. I havent seen a LB yet dominate a HB for a game like Ray did that day. Man I miss that defense....man I miss the good old days....

Best/most disturbing loss was the Pats mnf in the all black uniforms. That was a true classic.

I lost my voice after all that yelling. Literally I could not talk until late the next day.

If I am not mistaken it remains the largest comeback for a win in franchise history.
