I'm HUGE on R&B. Trying to get into old-school R&B, but I'm immersed in contemporary and mainstream stuff.

Donell Jones, Bobby Valentino, Amerie, NE-YO, R. Kelly (please, no lawsuit jokes), Tank, Ginuwine, Jagged Edge, Chris Brown, 112, Raheem DeVaughn, D'Angelo, Trey Songz, Ciara, Alicia Keys...stuff like that.

Old-school stuff, though, that I'm really getting a heavy diet of is mainly The Isley Brothers...those guys were THE TRUTH...

I'm also big on Rap, but only because I do it as a hobby, really. I listen to mostly mainstream stuff, but nothing too current nowadays. Ironic that I'm anti-radio, but some of the stuff I listen to is REALLY radio-made.

Nas, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Chamillionaire (his older stuff, though), Common, UGK, Westside Connection (rediscovering them), N.W.A., G-Unit, Slim Thug, DMX...all that stuff.

When it comes to Rock, I prefer stuff that I grew up listening to.

Third Eye Blind, The Cure, U2, The Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as Lifehouse, Disturbed...

I want more variety, but it's hard to force-feed myself stuff I'm not used to, y'know?

Seeeee...this is why we should've been allowed to tag-team for that Post From the Press Box contest...it would've been great if we BOTH could've gone for that Browns game...

...or better yet, for that Pats game. *ahem* :P

I'm still mad we'll never be able to compete in a Hardcore Texas Tornado Tag Team match for the (non-existant) Tag Team Titles and make tag-team history by being the first Tag-Team to win by default before the bell even rings 'cause there'd be too much AWESOMENESS oozing from the both of us...

DAMN!...

It depends on how old you are. :P

My musical tastes are pretty scattered. I listen to everything from rock, classical, and country. I don't like rap, and most new rock music leaves me cold, as well.

Here are some of my favorite bands/artists (in no particular order):

Rock:

Beatles

Police

Rush

The Who

AC/DC

Black Sabbath

Primus

Iron Maiden (Up the Irons!)

The Smiths

Pink Floyd

...and some guilty pleasures: KISS, Gwen Stefani, Madonna

Country:

Gretchen Wilson (my absolute favorite - I'm a Gretchen Fanatic)

Toby Keith

Brad Paisley

Shooter Jennings

Willie Nelson

Waylon

Miranda Lambert

Big & Rich

Little Big Town

Classical:

Mozart - the greatest composer ever...check out Don Giovanni

Haydn

Liszt

lol nice variety...never have been a fan of country...But Rap/Hip Hop is an Art Form and i think if you really sit down and listen to the lyrics and what is said...you can begin to understand what they said

its like Nelly said on BET show called "Hip Hop vs the World" last night....

"My Daughter has been on the honor roll for a few years now...and My Son has been on the Honor Roll since he was in second grade....he's now in 5th grade....i think this Translation of what is said in the music, the true meaning behind what is said and what the artist meant by saying it, is lost because People are easily caught up on one thing and thats the Booty shaking and Low riding and Pimps and 'Gansta's'...but they dont REALLY look at further than that because thats all they WANT to hear."

agreed......you have to actually sit down and listen to the lyrics and the Person saying them....to truly understand their meaning and their story...every person in this world has a storyto be told.

Metal: Bands like Iced Earth, In Flames, Nothingface, Korn, Lamb of God, and so on are near the top of my list right now. And though they're not technically metal, Nine Inch Nails is one of my all-time favorite bands.

Rap: Public Enemy, Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, etc.

All sorts of classic rock--CCR and Led Zeppelin especially.

Some newer rock--been listening to a lot of Queens of the Stone Age and Muse lately. Red Hot Chili Peppers=one of my favorite bands.

And I'll get into the very occasional poppish artist.

Waaaaaay too many artists to try and list them all. It's a pretty big variety.

nice nice, its always good to have a wide sense in music so that you can appreciate fully what it took to create such music and the work and time and effort each individual artist put in, in order to create good music
