Ravens players you miss?

45 posts in this topic

What Ravens players do you miss seeing on the field that are no longer wearing purple-and-black for various reasons?...

Personally, I miss seeing Peter Boulware on the field, even though I didn't actually get to see him in live action until the tail end of his career. I wish I could've been there for his Ring of Honor induction ceremony.

Of course, it's obvious we're all gonna miss Adalius Thomas repping Baltimore on Sundays, but that doesn't mean we should stop rooting for him (except when New England plays against us, of course).

But who do you miss that's no longer with the Ravens?

James Trapp.....I have a pair of his autographed game worn shoes from the 2000 season.

I always lie and say that those were the shoes he used to step on Plaxico Burress' face with... ;)

Big Mac #99 . . . . he was like the energizer bunny on the field. The man never stopped. Wasn't bad looking either (not that that has anything to do with anything :P )

Maaaan, how could I forget Rod Woodson and Shannon Sharpe????

Woodson on that defense was one of the reasons I was intrigued by that Super Bowl-winning defense, and Shannon Sharpe was just plain in the zone in virtually every game...

Jermaine Lewis looked like something special in all the old footage I watch, as did Brandon Stokley...sad that they both had to leave...

Michael McCrary was probably the standard to which our defensive ends would be set to until Terrell Suggs came into his own as a full-time DE and helped to solidfy that pass rush.

I didn't really see much of Priest Holmes in action as a Raven, so I can't really comment on him.

I would have to agree, he was a beast on special teams. I loved those hit he would lay as soon as the return man caught the ball

...wasnt that C-Mac, who did that to Plaxiglass???

Although Cmac and Burress had some memorable battles.....it was indeed James Trapp who stomped on Plaxicos face and ripped Plaxs' helmet off, during the 2002 Ravens/ Steelers match-up in Baltimore. I remember it well. I thought I had a picture in my files, but couldn't find it...so I may have deleted it. I also did an image search on the web and couldn't find a pic either.

The Steelers have provided NFL disciplinary officials with videotape of Ravens defensive back James Trapp stomping on wide receiver Plaxico Burress and tearing off his helmet during the game Sunday in Baltimore.

Nonetheless, coach Bill Cowher expects the league to fine Burress, and he has no problem with that.

I'm almost surprised that no one's thrown Jamie Sharper or Duane Starks out there, even though I personally can't really say much about them since I never saw them play...

Good call with Jermaine. Can't forget I forgot him.

I also kind of miss Chris Redman. More so the hype that surrounded him, as opposed to the man himself, but none the less, I thought he was the franchise qb, lol.

Last I checked, isn't Jermaine Lewis in the AFL now?

I dunno, I only caught part of that video interview in the Ravens Media Playbook before my internet started messing up on me...

In a sense, I kinda miss Chester Taylor, too...

I mean, yes, we managed without him, but I'll always wonder what would've happened if we brought Taylor back instead of Jamal Lewis...maybe we could've been more productive on the ground, who knows?...

Yeah, but Jamal as we all know for the past couple of years did a little too much of stutter-stepping and started tiptoeing across the line of scrimmage. I really miss Adailus Thomas. Although he was old, he was elite.

Old? Dude just turned 30......maybe I give AD 3 or 4 more years of top performance.

I will miss him on the field in purple and black as well. It will be interesting to see how he performs with the Pats.

There are 2 guys that enjoyed watching play.

1st. The Goose... Tony Siragusa was a great lineman and a great personality on the field. luckily we still get to see him on Sunday as a commentator.

2nd. Brandon Stokley....This guy caught everything thrown at him. He had hands like Lester Hayes when Stickum was not enforced. If he can stay healthy, he can catch 75 balls a year easy. Too bad Wayne and Harrison were on his team, or he could have shone more.

Personally I really miss Peter and Michael, they had things happen that stole bits of the amazing careers away from them and I find that as a shame I feel they are hall of famers but could have added to it.

Chester? Nah. From what I've heard Chester had some severe maturity issues. Not to mention the fight between him in Zeus in either Chicago or Detroit (one of those two).

I miss

Goose

Big Mac

Jermaine

Woodson

97-01 Ray Lewis!

I miss Jamal Lewis.......the Jamal of 2003 who would be the all-time single season rushing leader if not for the Steelers deciding that they wanted to play defense for the first time that season.

I will miss AD. When I heard he was gone, I cried...felt like I lost my best friend. And I've already seen a few AD Patriots jerseys walking around here in Boston, which pains my heart terribly.

Other former Ravens I miss:

Michael McCrary

Shannon Sharpe

Tony Siragusa

Sam Adams
