First saw it on Adam Shefter's twitter,
Once Mora was fired, the Seahawks called the Minnesota Vikings to seek permission to interview defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, the source told Clayton. According to ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen, Frazier declined.
Shefter also tweeted that the Seahawks are also going after USC head coach Pete Carroll.

Thoughts?

Pete Carroll has said over and over again that he doesn't want to leave USC. I figure Seattle would have to give him a super sweet deal for him to even consider it.

I'm very surprised that they would fire the "heir apparent" to Mike Holmgren so quickly... the NFL really does stand for: Not For Long.

If the Browns are giving Mangenious another chance Mora should get one too. Hes young, upbeat, positive. If anyone get rid of Hasslebeck.

This one was a total surprise. I know they had a bad year but that's not exactly a tough division and some personel changes on the field and who knows out there. I would have thought Mangini was a lock, go figure. Wild week at the least, and we still haven't heard from Oakland yet!

My initial reaction to the Mora firing was jubilation. I was tickled to death because TJ left Cincy specifically because he wanted to play for Mora. TJ as you know was a walk on with the Bengals and swore he would be loyal to them as they gave him his chace to play in the NFL.

Well this offseason showed there is no such thing as loyalty in the NFL. Now he gets what he gets!

Well thanks for making me a liar, Pete!!

Just received mobile alert that he's agreed in principle to becoming Seattle's new coach.

What's this going to do to USC?

I think maybe this had something to do with his inexplicable allegiance to Julius Jones, when Justin Forsett was tearing teams to shreds. Although, with Matt Hasselbeck not being the player that he was he was always going to struggle even with a strong defensive lineup.

Ok here's something that baffles me....Seattle has already announced that Pete Carroll will be their new coach...and yet they're still interviewing Vikes DC so they don't fall afoul of the Rooney Rule. How the heck can they get away with that?

Seems like that's shutting the barn door after the cows have already escaped.

Easy, they jumped the gun and didn't follow the process with due dilligence. When they started to get caught, they back-peddled, called it "negotiations", and blamed Twitter. Quickly finding anyone who would satisfy the Rooney Rule, they can now "negotiate" in peace pretending to be squeaky clean.
