Best Raven Rivalry

27 posts in this topic

Most fans(?) think the Ravens/Steelers is the best rivalry in the history of the Ravens. I think our best rivalry was with Tennessee when the Titans were in our division.

What does everyone think?

I think the Steelers/Ravens rivalry is so good because both teams are so similar. Defensive minded, blitzing, hard hitting football.

I really wish there was more of a Ravens/Colts rivalry as opposed to Peyton owning us everytime they play.

I wish when they re did the divisions they put Titans in ours instead of one of the crappy teams like Bengals or Browns. I mean this is the Bengals second winning season since 1992.....

Steelers get my vote though cuz our players just hate their players lol

I think that this thread needs a poll.

Yeah, that was a good post. Some of those Tennessee games were pretty brutal. I can't help but remember when Steve McNair signed with us, I was so happy, but when he retired I couldn't help but think we did alot of that damage. The Steelers though has that "still reaks of Cleveland thing" if you know what I mean. Those two went flat out at it. We took their place in the hearts of Pittsburgh fans when Art brought the passion back to town. Now I think it's the closest thing to a street fight you can get bar none, and me I love it!!

Thank you for explaining that. I'm really new this season to football. I grew up with my Dad watching the colts but was a baseball girl. Now with 3 sons of my own, I'm finally into football bigtime this season. I have to admit I didn't remember the Steelers and the Colts being a big thing as a child. I didn't get where the Ravens and Steelers came from and now I know. I appreciate it! Drives me crazy trying to catch up. I feel like I'm always asking one question or another.

Well I became a NFL fan back in 2005, so I can't say I'd choose the Steelers over the Titans.

I'm guessing the Ravens/Titans rivalry must have been pretty brutal to even be mentioned with Ravens/Steelers feud.

The Central Division used to be ......

Pitt
Tennesse
Baltimore
Jacksonville
Cincy
Cleveland

IMO Jacksonville and Tennessee were our real rivals. It was too bad that we couldn't have kept at least one of them and sent Cincy out.

id say Ravens-Titans. Although, sooner rather than later, Ravens-Steelers will surpass it cuz Ravens-Steelers just gets bigger and bigger each year

Well the Bengals have swept us 3 of the last 5 years, so I'm not really sure the're all that crappy.

And as far as the Browns, they're fans I think are bitter about the team moving to Bmore, so it's not like us and them don't have a rivalry. It's like how Baltimore Colts fans were after the team moved to Indy. That and the fact that the Colts own us are the reasons some of us hate them.

I have always believed that the Colts and Ravens should be in the same division. Hopefully we will be some day soon.

When the Titans were in the division our rivalry was something to behold. I was really miffed when they rearranged the divisions (was that on the arrival of the Texans?).

Since the Titans left, I'd say the bigger rivalry is definitely with the Steelers.

Since I have hated the Steelers before the Ravens existed, I am going with the Ravens/Steelers

Back then our rivalry was with the Jags (since the Browns sucked). But since the restructuring of the divisions it's definitely Steelers/Ravens.

I really wish they'd send the Colts to London, permanently. They could have a rivalry with Man U. Manning vs Man U, it works. (yes, I know it's two different sports, I don't care)

Anyway, it's Ravens/Steelers in my book. Not only is it possibly the most physical match-up in the NFL, the fan bases are close enough to really keep things interesting.

steelers Ravens, no question. Twice a year it is pure agressive distaine. Even when we arent playing them we want them to loose.

For now, Ravens and Steelers are it. We don't like them and they don't like us.Both teams play really hard against each other and it's always a great game.
Back in the olden days, the Baltimore Colts and Green Bay Packers were kind of the same thing.
Of course we always hated the Redskins, too.

Three playoff appearances in the past 18 years is a sure sign that they are probably not a good team. The fact that the Ravens have been swept by said team says more about the Ravens than the Bengals, in my opinion.

The Browns are to us, what the Ravens are to the Colts: a team that you know hates you, but is too insignificant to matter.

Right now, definitely Ravens-Steelers, but I think our rivalry with the Titans back then was bigger than our rivalry with the Steelers now.

But like I said, Ravens-Steelers just gets bigger each year. It's already the best in the AFC
