Ravens Vs Brady - Round 2

103 posts in this topic

Hey everyone,

So here we go...the Ravens defense vs an even more fragil and (probably even more scared) Brady. I just hope the referees call a fair game, but with Brady publicy acknowledged injuries I am sure the NFL will do all it can to protect its golden boy. How can we alleviate this. How do we get pressure on Brady without hitting him? lol How do we cause pressure without inciting ridiculous roughing the passer penalties against us?

If you haven't yet, check out the off topic forum for the kick off to the 2010 Post Season Photoshop contest. MODS - Move the thread to Ravens talk, it was there all last season and to encourage participation we should not hide it in a non-Ravens forum where few people go. It is most definitely Ravens related, and was an exciting and fan participatory activity last season with over 18 pages of submissions. It needs to be brought back and on the main forum page (highlighted or marked for a special thread like last year).

i am worried about the pats. did you see yesterday when brady got sacked after he threw that pass he said a hissy fit. funny thing is, it was a legal hit. thats what i am worried about. i cant stand brady at all. ever since he came back from getting hurt it seems like all he has to do is tell the ref to throw a flag because the d-lineman was to close to me and the refs throw the flag ya know.

To answer your question, the Ravens simply have to try to do what they did to Brady what they did to Frye. Pryce seems to get more pressure now that he moves inside on passing situations, Barnes has been coming along and the blitzes finally seem to be working.

The penalties were demoralizing last game but if I were a player, I wouldn't change my approach just because the refs are a bit more sensitive when it comes to Brady. If he's is in my cross-hairs, I'm drilling him.

i agree. brady has to stop crying about getting hit and just play. chances of that happening 0%. brady is going to do whatever it takes to win sunday and through out the playoffs if they advance. i can almost guarntee at least 2-3 b.s penealties against us for roughing the passer thats probably gonna cost us a touchdown and maybe the game.

It's funny how the injury of Tom Brady "leaks" right before the first playoff game that he's been playing with 3 crack ribs.

Is this a ploy by Belichick to make sure Brady is protected by the Refs during a phyiscal playoff game?

My thoughts exactly. They are making the information public to ensure preferential treatment for Goodell's golden boy versus the team that he is so scared of, he cries for penalties at an ATTEMPTED legal hit on him... and gets them.

If our offense can score we can win this game, the defense will probably get called on some questionable calls but still hold there own.

Relax. -_-

The officials will probably be in max protect mode, but maybe they will remember how they mistreated us early in the year, not be so quick to throw the flags this time.

OUTSTANDING! It should read:
Hi I'm Brady, and I'm playing with 3 cracked ribs and a headache, and I also have PMS and all these "Dirty Birds" Ravens want to hit me, Hey Ref, call the penalty, they screwing with my head !!!
:empty trophy case:

I can't wait for the moment when he starts a hissy fit, looks around for a flag, but doesnt get one
Then when the game is over the Ravens are on top

I say we dont blitz at all, just play prevent. Cuz I mean even if we do sack him there will be a penalty cuz its the golden child of the NFL and Roger Goodell's crush lol.

GO RAVENS!

He did it during the Texans game after Brian Cushing(I think) pushed him to the ground.

I hope he gets angry at a non-call on Sunday and someone hits him on the very next play. It's become obvious he expects to get calls which is pathetic.

Hence why I have never or ever will have respect for him. He is a girl. Real QB's are like Favre, Brees, Rodgers and even Joe Flacco who just shut up and play the game and dont beg for the small stuff.

You know what would make me smile from ear to ear?

running that C Gap blitz where Ray Ray comes in undetected and hits the QB, similar to the one that was run on the Vikings where Brett got laid out. I would so love to see Tom Brady going down unexpectedily by Ray Lewis.

That would be sweet.

The hit/tackle on Brett was truly a thing of beauty. Ray used perfect form.

Yeah, I saw a lot of respect in that tackle too. He arm tackled him and rolled him to the ground. Impressive. I don't think he would afford Brady the same opportunity though, and I hope to see it Sunday.

Hysterical!

I think that the refs/league are well aware of the flag situation from last game. Therefore, they will make up for a big LEGAL hit on Brady elsewhere during the game. Like a phantom PI/no-touching(illegal contact), or a hold or whatever.

Brady isn't the only one. Have you ever watched Philip Rivers closely? It seems as though he's looking for a flag after every incompletion.

Probably, but why deny it outright then? Oh, that's right, we are dealing with "Belicheat" here...

He learned it from Norv. I honestly expect the man to break down and cry anytime something doesn't go his way. Prissiest coach in football, bar none.

I saw we cover like crazy and make Brady use his feet. As soon as he's out of the pocket and running, he's fair game. Only need to make it happen once.

Agree, that play would be awesome. Just hope that Ray does not get called for roughing the passer!
Do you think Joe should pass 25-30 times...wait...RUN THE BALLLLL!!!
Pats will contain the Ravens run attack, Flacco will pass about 30-40 times Sunday for the win.
