Yeah, that seems to happen to us a lot.

In contrast, all of the Squealers' "hard" games were at Home this year (Tennessee, SD, GB, Minnesota), and will probably be that way next year.... it's kind of absurd.

Pittsburgh
Home: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, New England, N.Y Jets, Atlanta, Carolina, Oakland
Away: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Buffalo, Miami, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Tennessee

They at least get to play the Pats at home

I know that previous records don't always turnover, but the Patriots finished 2-6 on the road this year. If we had them at the Bank... but, what can you do? *Sigh*

Edit: Buffalo, seriously NFL?

Please no, I can't stand Collinsworth.

I also don't think we have a shot at playing in London with our schedule (later) this year.

I think I can explain the Pats,Broncos, and Texans games being in the same city 2 meetings in a row. Every year we play an entire other AFC division. This year it was the AFC West. So, we play every division once every 3 years. And I think the home/away teams are determined using that rotation.

Next year, we are playing the Pats because it is the AFC East's turn in the rotation. The last time we played the Pats in the AFC Easts turn in the rotation, the game was in Baltimore in 07(We all remember that one.). Therefore this time, it will be in New England. We played them this year based on our respective finishes in the 08 standings not on the rotation.

We will play the Broncos and Texans next season based on our 2nd place finishes in our divisions not based on the rotation so the games can be held in the same cities as the previous mathups. BUT, when the rotation goes back to the AFC South in 2011, we will face the Texans at home. And when it returns to the AFC West in 2012, we will travel to Denver.

Understand?

I don't think this was posted to day, sorry if it was. I was reading the sport section in my local paper and they were naming all the opponents for each team for 2010. (Dates to be determined)

Baltimore
Home: Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Miami, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Denver

Away: Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, New England, N.Y. Jets, Atlanta, Carolina, Houston
Based on how all these teams performed this season...pretty easy schedule.

Home games: Buffalo, Miami, and Tampa are all trash. We can beat Denver at home. Saints will be tough.

Away: We go to New England again? Hardly seems fair, we just played them in New England. Give us AT Buffalo and let us play New England at home IMO. AT NYJ might be a good game if Sanchez improves. As he is now though, we would dominate him. AT Atlanta should be another good one, but I don't think Atlanta is nearly as good as we are. AT Carolina will be tough unless their new QB is bad. AT Houston should be a good one...think we got the advantage though.

So an uneducated completely premature guess tells me we'll be going 11-5 next year. Our "losses" being AT Pitt, AT Cincy, AT New England, AT Carolina, and VS New Orleans.

Just for fun.

The Saints is a Home game. The poster said "away" elite teams. I think having them in your house is a distinct advantage. That is one loud place to play! We get them at their house. A tough gig to be sure. If I had to guess this early I would say 10-6 or 9-7 for my guys next year. If rumors I am hearing are true then I will ammend that to 8-8 or worst. The rumor mill has it that Zim is not interested in resigning with the Bengals. Ouch! We finally get a defensive coordinator that is worth a darn and he is leaving us. Last good one we had was LeBeau. He took the Bengals to their second Superbowl. Unfortunately for the Bengals, their second appearance in the big dance went just like the first. Last second drives by one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. Joe Montana!

You watch. Not only will we have to travel to NE yet again, the NFL will try to throw it into Prime Time. Ravens do not seem to like the lights much.

I agree with you about the saints at home, that's why I'm ecstatic that we are playing them at home.

The Ravens don't seem to like the road very much either, nor teams with winning records.

Not naming any names or pointing any fingers, but there are quite a few of those here. I don't understand why though, there is a ton of reasons to be optimistic.

Oh that's not true. I'm always positive when we play losing teams, especially at home. :P

In all seriousness, I've been looking forward to next season for quite some time. If history repeats itself, next season should be our "up year" so to speak, and we're facing alot of teams that we should match up well against, most notably: running teams like Carolina, NYJ, and Miami, a team that we have never lost too (Texans) and at least one of the prolific passing teams should take a nosedive in quality.

Considering we are heading into a playoff game this weekend and you are already looking forward to next season, I think you just proved your negativity. :th_shame:

I'm really looking forward to that Ravens vs. Jets game.

The first meeting between the two teams in the regular season since the Ravens chose the then relatively unknown Harbaugh over mainstay Rex Ryan.

Hopefully it's in the middle of the season with both teams in rhythm and healthy. Has all the makings of a prime-time affair!

In fact, quite a few games next year look like they could end up being night games. I actually enjoyed not playing Pittsburgh until December. If the league wants to schedule it like that again, I don't mind!

I am of the opinion that the Steelers games need to be played early to get them out of the way... however, if they are scheduled for late November/December again I hope they aren't night games, especially the one in Pitt which is basically an auto-loss.

I hope not, mainly because I might not be able to see it live, but also because it's away. Away and primetime games are not our strong point.

The "we don't play well in primetime" saying is getting REAL old. Actually no its not getting old its been old. For a long time. Since about the end of 2007. I believe we are 4-2 in primetime under Coach Harbaugh. GIVE IT A REST!

Good to know, but we are also 2-2 in road primetime games (2-3 counting the post-season) hence the "not our strong point" comment.

Like I said though, I'd rather not have any primetime games because it's much easier for me to see a game in its entirety if it's played on at one o'clock on Sunday.

Agreed. It got new life this season though when it was reported that the Ravens' actually requested not to play the first game against the Steelers in prime time. Then relented when it was a Home game for them. Link: http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2009/03/20/ravens-ask-nfl-not-to-schedule-prime-time-game-in-pittsburgh/

So I guess technically it is a saying the Ravens gave new life all on their own.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and make my way-too-early prediction now. I know I'll probably be wrong.

Home: Cincinnati - win, Cleveland - win, Pittsburgh - win, Buffalo - win, Miami - win, New Orleans - lose, Tampa Bay - win, Denver - win

Away: Cincinnati - lose, Cleveland - win, Pittsburgh - lose, New England - win, N.Y. Jets - win, Atlanta - win, Carolina - win, Houston - win

13-3 :D

Not until April probably. Can't wait though
