Mr. Barnes

All I have to say is the man better be active for every single game here on out. He puts constant pressure on the QB with the small amount of opportunities he gets. Best pass rusher on our team imo. I watched suggs the entire game vs oakland and he used moves such as "attempting to drive and push through a 340 lb lineman" and swinging hooks like hes in a boxing match. I dont know what happened to past techniques he used to get to the qb, but BARNES is the MAN.

Suggs is pretty clealry out of shape. Lets hope he comes back ready to play next year. Barnes is relentless.

Him and Kruger were inactive for A LOT of games this year and I kept questioning Harbs decision on that since in preseason they showed great speed and ability to get to the passer.

Then of course, they get playing time and show up big.

Barnes is definitely playing great football and call me crazy but I think we need to bench Suggs. At least only play him for 3rd downs cuz he cant stay fresh out there and he is S.T. Ruggling!

Thats what happens when you skip training camp to get Paid.

Barns has certainly added some sizzle to the pass rush. He has the speed and motor to go around the tackle and still get to the QB. I really liked his hustle to force the fumble.

That doesn't make any sense.

Suggs tried to get in shape during camp, got hurt and has paid for it all season. People are calling for his head right now but I'll be surprised if he doesn't have a monster season next year.

And while Suggs hasn't made many big plays this year, he's made the routine plays that you don't see on highlight reels. I clearly remember a play early in yesterday's game where Oakland tried a screen which Suggs snuffed out. The FB ended up dropping the ball but the timing had already been thrown off by Suggs.

Yea Suggs is out of shape. I have a friend who knows people that know Suggs and he says that he really does not care anymore about this shape now that he has his contract. I'd rather have Barnes playing the end position then Suggs right now.

We gave him such a huge contract. Let's give him a chance to rebound. I mean it's not smart to pay someone as much as him and not give him his chances.

True but when there are hungrier players on the team right now, who will give 110% on every down, I rather have them on the field during playoffs then some guy we gave a lot of money to who is out of shape, dealing with legal problems, and just doesn't seem to have his head in football right now.

The most annoying thing is that whenever Barnes has taken the field he's brought heat, from about his 2nd year onwards, but he still only gets opportunities sporadically. I guess he's not a great practicer or whatever, but in my opinion when I guy shows up on Sunday you get him in the game.

Could be that they arent giving him as much respect in terms of double teams and specific blocking schemes to account for him like they would for suggs, ngata, pryce, etc.

Could be, but if they're not respecting him and he can hurt them because of it then get him in the game, until they do double him or manage to slow him down, which opens it up for other people.

They haven't but he explodes off the line and seems to be working to get to the QB all the time.

There have been times when I've seen Suggs and seriously questioned his effort.

I like Harbs, but having a player like this inactive for so much of the season is very questionable.

God I thought I was the only one lol. I question A LOT of stuff he does!

But yeah we need more of Barnes and Kruger and if Walker is on the field we will run CB blitzes so when he does make contact with a player its in the form of a sack...

Speaking of the CB Blitzes, what sort of confuses me is when we blitz either Foxworth or Carr, who are out best remaining corners, just to leave Walker on an island. Corey Ivy averaged a couple of sacks per Season in his previous years in Baltimore. oxworth and Walker have a combined 0 sacks over the course of their careers. Why not send Corey after the QB instead?

I've never understood the DB blitzes this team employs. And the D usually gets burned too.
