Ravens Magical Run?

7 posts in this topic

do you guys think that someting "mystical"(the best way i can describe it) maybe happening with the Ravens on their playoff run? i mean....

1. when we thought they would be completely out of the playoff picture....all the teams above them lost and the Ravens won that day.

2. after playing good teams...they faced the Lions and Bears in back to back home games and won.

2. they played the Steelers @ M&T and Big Ben and Troy Polamalu were out. Ravens win in overtime

3. Ravens played a tight game with the Raiders....Frye was killing our secondary and then he went down with an injury and in comes J Russell who literally turned the ball over 2x....Ravens win

4. now...the Ravens face the Patriots in Foxborough in the 1st Rd and Welker is out! torn ACL. wow! and Brady has a broken finger and 3 broken ribs.

are the "stars" (again...the best way i can say it) aligning for the Ravens to make a run in the playoffs?

your thoughts?

I hope so. With a win this Sunday, I'd buy into that theory. I almost have the same feeling now that I did at the beginning of last year, how the stars seemingly aligned for me then, with my Delaware boy Flacco getting drafted by the Ravens, to Flacco's path to the starting job being cleared, to his solid rookie campaign, etc.

I'm hoping the stars align for the Ravens again, but you'd understand that it's hard to buy into it now with how inconsistent this season's been.

i haven't "bought into" anything. i think that it is just interesting when i began to look back over the Ravens season and how these types of "events" kept working in their favor.

did i miss anything?

Hopefully the Ravens insane inconsistency explodes in the playoffs, into being impossible to game plan against because you dont know what your going to get lol

Edit- sorry to hijack the threat but can we sign Derrick Johnson from the Chiefs already lol.

Would love to see it. We showed that we can keep up with the best of the best this season. Defense has been outstanding, and the offense running is monster. We need to step up with the pass and use ALL of our receivers, and mix it up. Joe needs to be more smart in the pocket and step up. He will learn, but he honestly has no time to do anything once hes snaps it.

All the teams we were competing with were bad. Plus we had a very easy end of the schedule.
2. after playing good teams...they faced the Lions and Bears in back to back home games and won.
Everyone knew the Lions and Bears were gonna suck, and the schedule was made way in advance. Not seeing the mysticism here.

#2 again? Okay...injuries happen. Steelers played a lot of teams without Troy. We played a handful of teams without Reed. What is your point here?
3. Ravens played a tight game with the Raiders....Frye was killing our secondary and then he went down with an injury and in comes J Russell who literally turned the ball over 2x....Ravens win
We weren't getting killed...we still would have won. Injuries happen.

Welker hasn't been healthy all year.

Considering all the missed kicks that would have put us in way better position, as well as the uncanny drops and influx of penalties. No. This was a messy road, but far from unlikely.

Edit: Lawl why'd I get downrated?
